About us
We are a window tinting and graphics company. We do a lot of custom work when it comes to graphics and hard to access tint/ graphic areas. We are the company that will get it done. We have removed walls, windows, glass, skylights,... we will do what it takes to get a job done. This creative, and anythings possible attitude is why we are Niche "Custom" Tinting. We added window treatments to our services back in 2007. I (Jonathan, owner) do in depth research on product warranties, performance, and benefits before we carry them. We have carried the same core blinds, and window film brands for over 10 years. Because they have proven themselves. I can assure you our products stand out among the competition. I am a San Antonio native, and I run my business with genuine care for our customers, and passion for our services. Currently I personally do every estimate we give. I love the contact with people, and I beleive in the products and services we offer. We are new to Angies List, but we will be at the top of the ranks shortly. - Jonathan

It seemed fine, he took the measurements and he said it would take two weeks to get the product, I was waiting but nothing came. I called them and said where is my window treatments they said they made the order but not and they did not made the payment. I called him and told me payment was going to be made and I called today and emailed him today and I got the same story.Originally he said it will take 10 days but it's now taking 8 months.

From start to finish, Niche Custom Tinting was incredibly professional, timely, and knowledgeable of their products. The team was very efficient, friendly, and we appreciated the level of work ethic demonstrated throughout the entirety of the process. Our windows look fantastic, the price was right, and our home is far more comfortable - especially in the living room and kitchen that both face the sun in the afternoons. Through and though, we have been extremely pleased with the product and level of service rendered. We're already considering using the company again for the addition of some blinds, or another form of visual window treatment - just because of how nice we think it'll look, while adding some dimension to the room! Jonathan did the research and within a couple of days he had found the perfect film that met our needs, applied a sample so we could see it and delivered and estimate. Every time I work with Jonathan- he is very polite, friendly and professional. He arrives early to be prepared for start time. He is a perfectionist when installing and takes pride in his work and will go the extra mile to make his customers happy.

Jonathan and his crew was on time, respectful to my house and family. He introduced his crew and went over what they were doing. They moved any furniture out of the without damaging anything. When they were done in the room they doing, they cleaned up there mess and move everything back. This was done throughout the house. No trash was left. The work looked great and done in a timely matter. I will refer him to my neighbors. This work was at father's house. It was a father's day gift.

I hired Jonathan to tint a large window in our home and they ran out the tint on the roll they were using so they had to splice two pieces together to complete the work. He noted that even though I could see the seem, it would most likely disappear after the film dried. It didn't, I've attempted to contact him several times, via email, phone, and thumtack site. He responded twice saying that he would come and redo the work, he never has. Make sure if you use him, charge it to your credit card that way you can at least dispute the charge for work that was not completed. Very disappointed. <br />

He was very professional, on-time, knowledgeable of his product and was able to get in and out in a couple hours. He tinted 8 windows total and gave me a lifetime guarantee on the product as long as I own the home. The price was very good and he even did a couple window for free. I would definitely recommend him and I plan to have him back to do some additional projects as well.

Last week Niche installed spray-insulation and spray-radiant barrier in my attic. Jonathan took before and after photos for me since my attic is so very difficult to access. I was just delighted with the quality of the application and his willingness to work in such cramped conditions. The job was as smooth and easy and one could hope for, but that's to be expected from someone as professional as Jonathan. A few years ago, Niche did some window tinting for me. They used a heat reflective barrier outside and a frosted privacy film inside on four bathrooms. The difference was outstanding! My windows are the 1950's steel casements with single panes. The film must have dropped the temperature in the west bathrooms by 20 degrees ! Both of the jobs Niche has done for me were done with care and professionalism, that is why, as an interior designer, I recommend them to my clients. I have NEVER had a bad report from about them.

Jonathan called us the night prior to installation and let us know that we had to use a pay pal account immediately so that they would have the funds available the next morning to pick up and pay for the tint. The next morning his installers arrived over an hour late, due to not having enough money to pick up the tint. Although the installers were very nice they were equally unprofessional. Damage was imparted on our walls where they leaned their ladder. Spent blades were found in the carpet a few days later. They stepped on the window sills with their shoes on, leaving feet print which were difficult to remove. Puddles of water were left on the sills which if left would have caused severe warping, but I cleaned it up. Trash from the installation was left behind in one room, which I again cleaned up. Then, one of the installers suggested I contact him because he and a buddy were starting up a gutter business. I passed on his offer.

"First of all I would like to begin this reply by saying, I just signed up to Angies List (2 years after this review). However, I do remember this customer, and job. I do agree that we had a new installer, and we were late to this job. I was raised in a military family, and I assure you punctuality is on the top of my priority list, but sometimes you can't help it. I feel that this customer was upset (and she has good reason), and used this review service to amplify the actual events. I don't disagree with some of the comments made, but mistakes happen, we had a new installer that day, and some of the things have been said in a way to intentionally make us look small and unprofessional. Our policy on 50% down is not negotiable, the reason is because of the high price of the film we use. If a customer cancels an install, or doesn't pay after an install for whatever reason, we would be out a large amount of money. With 50 different types of film and counting, it isn't practical to stock film, we order per job and pickup at UPS dock. This customer hadn't paid the PayPal request that she approved, so I wasn't going to do the install without it (and paypal payments are available immediately fyi). This was the delay, not the issue of us not having the funds to pay for the film. I have two great installers, and the other issues of blade chips left, water, and footprints are virtually non-existent. These are major incidences for us, and they are taken very seriously here at Niche. Customer safety, and protection of belongings is job 1. Doing a great install is priority 2. Finally, of these "member comments" was the knife turn about my installer starting a gutter business. One of my installers does have a gutter business on the side, and I do allow him to tell all of our customers, and potential customers about it. The fact that I trust him enough to let him co-mingle his business name with my customers should say a lot. I was born and raised in San Antonio, and friends helping friends, and word of mouth is what i was raised on. I have friends that own businesses in almost any field of home contracting you can think of. I offer their names and numbers at the drop of a hat, because I know they are reliable, and more importantly they are good people who will take care of my customers. I hope this response didn't come off to harsh, I just hate that my first minute as an Angie's List contractor had to amount to reading a negative review. I can tell you this, nothing in that review said anything negative about our actual window film, or our quality of the install itself (bubbles, peeling, faded film, etc). We do high quality work, with high quality materials and I have hundreds of references that would vouch for that, several on this members same street.
