"As we discussed on site, the ceiling tiles ordered by the homeowner were not enough to complete the project and more needed to be ordered. Instead of leaving a huge hole in the ceiling while waiting for a special order, we used the older ceiling tiles to fill in remaining hole. Project was to resume when the ceiling tiles were ready for delivery/pickup. The doors installed were no where near completed as I was told I have to leave because the homeowner had a doctors appointment even though this project was scheduled way in advance. We decided that when I was to return that the doors would be fixed and sanded down for proper closure. The doors that the homeowner purchased were the incorrect sizes and needed to be cut and adjusted to fit into the opening. The remaining time needed for the projects were to be scheduled in, instead we receive this review. The homeowner was happy with the other 5 projects we had completed."
"Where to start. First as I told you I was in the hospital because I was very ill. I even had family members email you to tell you so, but you continued to send email after email. Second, if you want a company to be the general contractor of a job, that is an extra cost. I was hired to install flooring, not talk to the flooring manufacturer about warranties or deliveries. The concrete was installed as your floor was out of level by two inches and that was the cheapest route to go as you don't have the money for the project that I was already charging you thousands less than anyone else would have. We were going to use waterproofing adhesive in that section. You signed the contract for the concrete to be installed. As for the extra materials, why are you complaining? You never paid me for it. I also tried scheduling in the project for months with never ending delays on your end. The delivery of the floor and was supposed to be between 10am-12pm. They showed up at 7am. Whether they called me or not that morning, I can not be anywhere at 7am without a days notice as I have a son to take care of in the morning. I also know, you had another company working on the exterior of your home that walked off the job, it's a pattern that I see. This is the only project in 9 years that I have not finished, and it's not due to anything but your cheapness and unavailability to complete the project. Go ahead and write a bad review for your mistakes, I have plenty of good ones."
"On the first day of arriving at this job site and walking inside, I knew immediately what kind of project this would be. A disaster. In this business there is always going to be this kind of customer, one who can’t get along with any contractors or tradesmen because the homeowner uses google and youtube to build a house. It was very clear upon arrival that I was not the only contractor to have worked on this house and the others most likely walked off. In my career I have framed homes for Britney Spears, New York Giants football players, the house on the tv show “The Sopranos”, diamond dealer, and many of New Jersey’s elite. The framing isn’t the problem. Yes, when I had finished the subfloor was slightly out of level. On a 6 foot level it was off about a half inch (only in some sections, others it was level), which means within three feet it was a quarter of an inch off and so on. That’s very minimal since this was repaired from it being off nearly an inch and a half. Because the homeowner had someone build a new exterior wall on the first floor, which is supporting the subfloor I had fixed, they built that wall so out of level it caused the floor I was fixing to be a disaster. During the demolition phase prior to framing a pipe broke. As I explained it was not from a power tool. It was actually from lifting a piece of subflooring up. You see, the plumber the homeowner contracted put the piping directly below the subflooring on a strange angle with no support to even hold the pipe. A big no no for a professional plumber. However, I personally fixed the pipe and the drywall that had gotten wet. When the homeowner had asked me to fix the subfloor once again, I did not hesitate and did so. I leveled the flooring out a bit more, but not so much that it would raise the entrance in the doorway more than it was already was. While fixing this, the homeowners daughter and son in law both said to me no matter what I do, she will never be happy. I already knew this before starting work on day one. By the last days, she had me doing some framing around her home that was more than pointless. You can go into 100 houses and never see what she had me do, it was really a waste of time and money. Despite all of this, I always want my clients to be happy when I leave. Of course she did not state this in person, but waited a month to do so on a computer. If wanted, I will return, demo, and rebuild again. Not only for my companies reputation or morals, but so this homeowner can rest easy."
"Thank you for writing this review, I have been waiting for it just as I had waited two months for you to communicate about scheduling in your project from the time you purchased the deal. Yes, we were there for two hours with two men equaling 4 man hours purchased. My helper was there to hand me tools and retrieve tools from the truck as I was working on a ladder approximately 12 feet high. It's very common to have a helper in these situations so that work is continuously being done. There were two small screw holes left because of placement for all the curtain pieces, 10 pieces in total for two windows. Not just a simple curtain rod that any homeowner can install, you did hire us. I explained that I would come back to fill the holes and paint if the paint was provided. And again no communication after we left that day. One hole was 12' high behind a curtain piece and the other was about waist height next to another curtain piece. But I thank you for this review and I am still willing to fix the two holes."
