Mark Offerman did not complete the work he started. He claimed he painted a ceiling that had not been painted. He attempted to install hinges and door lock sets in slab doors and destroyed the doors. when I pointed out to him what he was doing, he flew into a rage and walked off the job. He did not return. He had several great reviews on Angie's list, which I now believe were fictitious.

In the future, I will always read ALL of the NEGATIVE reviews about a contractor BEFORE I decide who to hire.

Beware! This man is scamming people. We are retired and in our 60's. We were not expecting to be misled and harrassed by a contractor who demanded to be paid more $$ even though he did not complete what was expected on the contract.
Response from No Peel Painting & Remodeling
"first of all, they were informed that I am nearing retirement and I am just as old as they are, and I currently do not have the licensing to preform the electrical work they requested, they agreed they did not want permits or inspections. they scammed me by changing the job on a daily basis not giving me time to adjust billing, and right at the last 2 days of the job I handed them a bill for the extras and they refused to sign off on them even though they were done, they tried to screw me out of $2400, so I left. they would not have paid for anything if it weren't for the fact that I still had their 3 cabinets that I had painted for them, that they agreed to finally give me $1500 of a final billing of $1850 as settlement. The law now allows companies to suite people for monetary losses due to untrue damaging reviews, they can look forward to just that."

Remodel of a townhouse. We were located in another state so did not have the ability to supervise on a day to day basis. Suppliers and delivery people begin contacting us that he was abusive and arrogant. He then demanded money in advance claiming his worker stole some of his money. More often than not, did not show up and always had an excuse. He underbid the job and toward the end decided he did not want to finish it. He wanted to charge extra for hooking up the plumbing, in the bathrooms, when he had given us a quote for a complete bathroom remodel claiming Plumbing hook up was not included. He fired several of his subcontractors and had to bring others on the job. We finally met with him near the end and just made agreement for him to pick up his tools and leave for a reduced price. Prior to work starting we verified that he was licensed and insured. Toward the end of the job he claimed he was not really a general contractor and was going to report us for the work that he had done that was not licensed. One of the workmen that he had hired reported him to the city. We were then notified by the city that he had done work Under another contractors license. We then had to go and have all of the work inspected including plumbing. This was the worst experience with a contractor we have ever had.

The first thing I liked about Mark is that he put what the job was and the cost down on paper and emailed me the figures. Appreciate being able to see exactly what the cost is before any work is started. No extra charges. Earlier this winter had leak problems from the upstairs unit into a hall closet and guest bathroom/bedroom . Had problems getting other workers to call me back but a friend recommended Mark. He showed up everyday until the work was completed including New Years Day, doing tile .drywall and painting. The guy we fired before would show up for a day then go to another bigger job and we were stuck with a mess. His work is excellent and prices are competitive. He has done work around this complex and everyone has been very pleased. Would recommend him.
My husband and I are so very impressed with Mark and Susan's work. They were working in our home for about two weeks and never really interrupted our schedule. They were meticulous about covering everything and cleaning up each day when they were finished. The walls and ceilings are done so beautifully that the first coat even looked great. Mark and Sue were a pleasure to talk with and we felt at ease leaving them working in our home and letting them lock up when they left. They are welcome back any time for a cup of coffee and I know we will use their services again in the future.
Mark responded the same day I initiated a request for an estimate. He started the job when he said he would, and although it took a little longer than planned, we did add some work to the original request after he had started. He is a perfectionist and made sure that we were completely satisfied each step of the way. He protected our home and furnishings, and cleaned up each day when he was done.
Will definitely use him for some more painting next year !!

Mark and Sue were a pleasure to deal with from day 1 whether in person, on the phone, FB, or via text and email. As you can see he is easy to contact. Work progressed smoothly throughout the project. I was especially happy when 'visible progress' was achieved (private joke between Mark & myself) as work progressed I added items to the job and he did a good number of them for free. It is more like dealing with old friends than a nameless / faceless contractor. The job was completed this week and we couldn't be happier and we are being deluged with compliments. In addition Mark has a lot of great ideas. I asked and received his advice often (again, no charge for that either)
I'll call Mark at No Peel for my next project be it remodeling, painting, plumbing, flooring etc.

I had a 'problem' door in the kitchen which swung open blocking a door into the garage. I asked Mark for advice in solving this problem. He suggested using a pocket door thus eliminating the problem of the door swinging open in one direction and blocking access to the garage or if it swung in the other direction it would block the door to my yard. Mark picked up the door from the store for me. He removed and hauled away all related debris. The door is now installed and working great. Problem solved. Cost was exactly as estimated $600 that included the new door and all related labor & debris removal. He did such a good job I gave him the job of remodeling the entire kitchen. I'll post a review when it's completed.

Mark and Sue did a great job from start to finish. They spent several days preparing the exterior by pressure washing and taping all around. Mark helped me to decide on final colors and he has a great eye for picking them because his choices were better than mine in the end! The finished product was meticulous and looks awesome from the painting to the woodwork replacement to the brick pavers in front of the entry way. I've used Mark and Sue for the interior and they did an outstanding job there as well. Mark and Sue are at the top of my list when it comes to home improvement projects!
They were punctual, polite, neat and efficient. It took a couple of days because of the re-mediation. I had to spend a night out because of the chemical odor. Although inconvenient I was happy I didn't have to have anyone else in. Everything seemed to go smoothly on their end. Even though his company name says painting , he does so much more!!!!!!
The floor looks beautiful! He did an outstanding job. I will have him back to do some other jobs after I get my list filled out.

Mark responded to my telephone call within 24 hours of receiving it. I received 3 quotes for the popcorn removal and he was the only one who was willing to quote a "smooth" ceiling. The other two wanted to apply another texture. I wanted a ceiling that was timeless and would not be "out of style" in ten years. Plus the textured ceilings hold dust and dirt . The quotes from the other two contractors varied wildly in price.
Mark is a master craftsman and knew there was some water damage on the ceiling and he would have to replace some of the wallboard (ceiling board?). He pointed out several areas where the ceiling was sagging, etc.
Sue (Mark's assistant) and Mark arrived on time, performed their work over a period of two weeks (we were out of town). They were very neat, and dust was minimal, they did a fantastic job cleaning up after.
He was able and willing to accommodate us in a short amount of time. We bought a house and did not realize the previous owner was a heavy smoker. Everything had to be painted to get rid of the smoke smell & we wanted it done before we moved in. Mr. Offerman bumped us up on his job list and told us how long it would take so we could plan accordingly. His price was high, but his work was awesome. He worked without us being there and the work was high quality. I felt he went above and beyond to help us,
"wow, D for price. no matter what way slice it, to paint the inside of a 2500 sqft home top to bottom with closets, doors, ceilings every surface with multiple colors and top quality paint costs $5000 from any contractor, this is 2014 not 1995, gas is $3.50 gallon, everything is more expensive, lets break it down, $4500 less $1500 for materials and expences leaves $3000, 2 people for 9 days is $333 per day, split is $166 or $20 per hour, per man. Hardly over charging, I hope this helps you understand and your welcome."
