Norm showed up on time for the initial appointment. We had split the job into 2 sections since we weren't sure we could afford the entire job. He explained that doing both sections would take only the minimum required amount of concrete (i.e., doing the "second" section wouldn't cost much more than the main section). His bid was competitive and he was easy to communicate with.
He and his crew showed up exactly as promised, as did the concrete crew. We made a last minute change (about 3 more feet of concrete) which he didn't charge us extra for. They did exactly what was promised, cleaned up beautifully and we are very pleased with the result. The weather cooperated as well, so there weren't any weather-related delays.
It was a standard project: proposal, acceptance, excavation, form creation, foundation pour, form removal, gravel fill and compaction, flat pour. Because we had a number of necessary phases, it took a couple weeks to complete, but this was completely within my timeline. I was given the opportunity to lay some drain lines and water lines between steps.

Norm and his team are fantastic! They are hard-working, honest, creative, and reliable. We had some drainage problems which required that we tear out and repour the existing concrete driveway, and the floor of the garage. And at the same time, there was a medium sized shed in the middle of the yard, sitting on concrete blocks. People told me I was crazy, but I wanted to have it moved, and put on top of a new concrete slab. We talked to many contractors, but Norm was the only one who wasn't afraid to move the shed. (Even though we told all of them that if it fell apart, that was ok, and then we would pay them to haul it off!!!) The project was completed in phases, and we are thrilled.
Norm is very skilled, organized and professional. He is also very busy (because he is great, and he has been in business for a long time, with a solid crew) so sometimes it takes him a day or two to return your call, it's worth it. Outdoor concrete work is tricky because the weather can cause delays in pouring. Make sure to give yourself a time buffer because even though Norm is great, he can't control the weather. Norm's core crew has been with him for years, even in this economy, which proves that he is dependable and you can trust he is here for the long haul.

They work hard, Norm is always very fair and honest. He's been doing this work a long time and his experience shows. The only minor inconvenience is the lack of technology in communication... Texting, and emailing are not too common with them yet though his available via phone is excellent.

Norm was great to work with. He has a "can do" attitude and he is a great problem solver. He also thought a head to foresee any difficulties. Norm was also determined to make sure everything was good. He was excellent to work with and provided top quality work. He helped a lot in thinking both about the "big picture" but also the details. Norms work passed all inspections and the floors between old house and additions came out perfect.

Norm's crew was professional and friendly. The quality of their work was excellent. There were a number of things that required clever problem solving and Norm was knowledgeable and creative. Most of the experience was satisfactory. The issues were as follows: 1) Norm told us the job would take 3-4 weeks. By the time the work was done, 12 weeks had passed. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry until near the end of the 12 weeks. We had to call often after the majority of the work was done to get each final task completed. It was like Norm lost interest in the job. 2) There were several times when the company's trucks blocked the middle of the street and people complained. Norm was rather rude to them.
