Concrete Foundation Raise
Very sloppy and unprofessional work. Now, my driveway and sidewalk are lopsided, he put a large crack in my porch, uneven lines in sidewalk, sloppy patch work. Needless to say, I have to have all new cement work done because this foam stuff can't be corrected. My technician was not skilled at doing this work and the manager is trying to justify this mess!

The foundation repair project was done at the same time as the crawlspace waterproofing project. The foundation project started well. The estimate was done and soil samples were taken. The members of the crew worked all day in the summer heat. They helped me understand what was being done and how the helical piers supported the house foundation. During the project, gutter downspout drains had to be adjusted. After the first heavy rain several months later, some of the soil near the foundation repair piers sunk. Upon investigation, we found the drains had not been properly reconnected. We now are paying a company to repair the drain damage. We also had new plantings installed after the foundation work was completed. It is possible these new plants will be damaged when the drains are repaired. We are paying for the damaged drains and possibly damaged plants. When the crew finished the foundation repair, they started the crawlspace project. Some of the sealant was done incorrectly. It was fixed when I found it and requested a repair. A plumber was needed to disconnect a small piece of pipe in one area. It appeared they did not plan for this and they had to slow down progress to complete the task. An electrician was also needed. A phone call was received but the crew did not tell me that I would receive a call from a subcontractor. I checked with the crew to clarify. The electrician that was sent had no company identification. Only the previously existing outlet was checked. The recently connected electrical work was not addressed at all. The subcontractor stated that was not part of his task. The new electrical was temporarily left with several power strips connected which is a fire hazard. Some sharp tacks were left under the waterproof floor membrane. This was a hazard for someone walking on the floor area and it created holes in the membrane. I had them check for additional tacks and repair several holes. The membrane does not go all the way to the edge of the floor area as is seen in pictures. It was installed from the wall to floor similar to a sling. This reduces the actual useable square footage. The columns were not covered with the membrane as was seen in pictures. The crew said it was ok. I had to request they install the crawlspace door multiple times. When it was done, the door was done incorrectly. It does not seal completely. I had to repeatedly request they provide the owners manual for the drain system. I also had to repeatedly ask for the filters that were included in the price of the job. I learned that the crew gets paid a bonus if they finish on the original completion date, regardless of delays due to weather or other circumstances. This may be why the second project, the crawlspace, appears to have some shortcuts. One of the crew stated a sump pump was needed and that they could install it for less than what the company would charge for the same service. Upon research, I learned a sump pump was not needed. Additionally, after several heavy rains, there has been no need for a pump. In the 6 months since the project has been completed, several emails have been received asking if we still want to start a project with the company. A person with the company has also been contacting us saying we need to have a final inspection completed. When I asked why this was being stated 6 months after the project completion, the person never responded.

We moved into new house and quickly found out the basement had major water issues due to years of neglect (including a clogged and poorly installed English drain from years ago, and a sump pump that while it worked, never pumped water.). Given the investment we made in buying the house, we wanted to make sure we left no doubt in our mind that we were fixing it for the long haul so we could use the basement without worry of mold/mildew for our kids. We had NV Waterproofing install perimeter wide gutter guards, and a new sump pump system and drainage pipes. As soon as the work was done we got rain, and for the first time in the 4 months since we have lived here I saw the water that otherwise would be in our basement actually in the rear of our backyard by the discharge pipe. We have had a few more rains and even one snow and there is nothing better to look at then when I see the water that is coming out of the discharge pipe that I know otherwise would be pooling in my basement and cynderblocks walls, and how that was the case for many years before we moved in. Also, the team that did the work was extremely professional. We have 3 kids and pets and the team was extremely courteous. We tried to stay out of their way during the week they were doing the work, however there were times when we couldn't and the team was extremely courteous and professional. The team lead did an amazing job of explaining to me the work he was going to do, showing me updates, and then afterwards explaining in detail what was done, why it was done, and things for me to look for for in the future. I would highly recommend NV Waterproofing to others based on my experience with them. They did high quality work and were extremely professional.

Manny started each morning by walking me through the design and explaining the details. He was on time and focused on the details. He did a quality job. The home had been landscaped and he took care to minimize impact. My neighbors were Surprised that the yard did Not look like it had been disturbed when he finished.

The crawlspace in our recently purchased house was a mess—full of water, mold, and deteriorated insulation. NV gave us a competitive price, on par with the other bids we got, and their bid seemed more comprehensive than some of the others. Jaime did an excellent job explaining everything to me and talking me through any questions we had. Once the work began, Manny and the rest of the guys did a great job—they were on site promptly each day and were clearly working hard over the three days of the project. Manny was very communicative and easy to work with and even went out of his way to help us with some extra items in the yard. The crawlspace looks awesome now—clean and dry! Overall they were great. The only thing I am disappointed with is that it was not clear that they would not be putting the drywall and insulation back, but I can't knock them for that when I should have confirmed beforehand. Other than that, everything else was great. The workers were great and they did great work.

Could not have gone better. I needed to educate myself about preventing my basement from ever flooding so I took the time to receive 4 bids. NV clearly found the best path forward without suggesting I perform thousands of $$$ in unnecessary work breaking up my basement. Lately, I have had many different kinds of contractors at my home. The team at NV was by far one of the most cordial, professional and reassuring that I have met with. I even called the owner of NV to tell him how much I appreciated the work. The team actually found a way to save me some moment off the original quote by using some of my existing infrastructure. Let me be clear, installing a new sump pump is tough work and can be very messy. After the team left you would not have known they were there. Very impressive. I would recommend NV to anyone who may be concerned about their basement. Top tier service and professionalism across the board.

I was very impressed with the whole experience with NV Waterproofing, from the estimate to the completion of the work. I had mold growing on a basement wall and a perpetual musty smell in the basement. Cristian came out to do the estimate. He did a full walk around outside the house and then did a thorough inspection of the basement. It was good to see that he used a moisture meter when doing the inspection. It's amazing that out of four companies that did estimates, NV Waterproofing and one other were the only ones to bring that tool. He looked at a waterproofing system that had been installed right before I moved in and explained what was wrong with it and then explained how it could be fixed. He was patient and explained everything. I appreciated that he did not put any pressure on us to sign anything before he left. After getting the estimate, I had questions and called the office t get answers. The office staff was great, answering what they could and forwarding the rest to Cristian who answered them promptly. Between scheduling the work and the work beginning, the Covid crisis hit. NV Waterproofing was great with working with us to explain our options of continuing with the work or rescheduling. I decided to go ahead with the job. The crew that performed the work was very professional. All had masks, all kept a good distance, and they did a great job of keeping the place clean. The foreman was easy to contact and promptly answered any questions I had during the job. All in all they were great. Including coming back promptly to finish off a final piece of work that had gotten overlooked.

Mauricio and Crisjan were the initial sales reps who came to examine the issue and they took the time to test drainage that might have potentially been creating the water issue. They offered a reasonable solution (sealing the visible cracks and holes in the concrete and I was contacted within a couple of days with an estimate and scheduling options. Sean was our tech and he did a fantastic job diagnosing the issue beyond just the cracks. He not only address all the holes and cracks in the concrete and mortar, he sealed up additional entry points above the foundation. He sourced additional materials to cover openings for cable lines. He went above and beyond and gave us measured information on how we should continue to monitor and treat this area as the house settles. He was thorough, informative, and provided excellent service in his work. I'm very glad that Sean was the technician sent to us and I would specifically request him for your projects.

They initially thought we needed the foundations and poles replaced on one or more support poles for our main border beam. This was based on measurements before the carpet was taken out. We scheduled the work, and had the carpet removed. Once removed, it was apparent to the crew that showed up that the work didn’t need to be done. They quickly reassessed and were honest with me about the reassessment. Their crew was already on site and they could have easily just done the work and billed us. They had a structural engineer contact us to follow up and do a formal reassessment of what work needs to be done. Their crew chief attended the engineer’s assessment to make sure they understood. Their estimators and crew were friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. I paid their crew (already on site) to tear apart some wall to make sure we completed the inspection, but no additional work needed to be done. Their work ethic and commitment to getting this right has them on the top of my list for any future work I need done in their area of expertise.

We needed to add supports under our main floor as well as waterproof the crawlspace. Marketing representative Christian Abrigo explained all aspects of the benefits of encapsulation to prevent and remove mold and the associated odors in my large crawl space. He explained the technical procedure for installation. He answered all my questions about the safety of the product and provided a safety data sheet and references. He was a great guy who went beyond the call of duty to make sure all my questions were answered. Chris was knowledgeable, pleasant and enthusiastic. The installation foreman was also very experienced and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions on arrival and used tarps to cover all the flooring. There was no mess in my house and the install was not invasive or infringing on daily activities. There was no residual odor or unpleasantness after completion. My house and the crawl space were neat and tidy after the installation. Most important, the smell of mold was finally gone from the room above the large crawl space. I highly recommend NV Waterproofing and will use them again for waterproofing in my home. Photos can be provided by Chris of my crawl space before and after as well as other projects so I have not provided pictures with this recommendation.
