The worst contractor I've ever did business with, Rishi is a pure con artist. I hired him in May and paid for a job that was supposed to take 2 weeks, it's now August the work is not only incomplete but they made a total mess of my basement and even my backyard. When the work first started it seemed as though everything would be done on time but after the first week of work and the second payment the work was delayed more and more until some weeks they never showed up. I'm now left with a incomplete full bathroom with sub-par craftsmanship and it's not in compliance with code. This company cheated me out of $6000 and totally abandoned the entire job. I not only have hire another contractor to fix my bathroom again but now I have to deal with NYZ Contractors LLC legally. A complete nightmare "Stay away"!!!!

Disclaimer: I fired this contractor pre-punch list, so to be fair, he did not have an opportunity to try to solve the myriad issues he left behind. That said, on the day I fired him, he thought he was done with the job, they were just coming to "finish up" and collect their materials. But in my opinion, there were DAYS of work left, work which I had come to realize no one on his team was qualified to do. In fact, any efforts to fix an issue typically left it worse than before. Demolition was fine. Workers were prompt, respectful. But construction/painting/finishing was terrible in every way. Work was sloppy, careless, amateurish. Clearly, few dropcloths were used, as I have spent hours scrubbing paint splatter from my tub, toilet, countertop, shower door, etc. The bathroom ceiling was rebuilt without a cleanly constructed corner in sight. (see below) The painting work was particularly bad. No pictures were taken before uninstalling fixtures so things were replaced willy-nilly, mirrors hung in random, unevenly spaced positions, at the wrong height, damaging the paint job along the way, fixtures were reinstalled ****-eyed. Promises of how repairs would be done were broken. Shortcuts taken. A buckled baseboard that he repeatedly assured me he'd remove and reinstall was simply caulked to fill in the gap. When I said, Wait, you said you'd replace that, he said, No, it's better if I just spackle the wall to build it out to meet the buckled baseboard. A sink that they installed poorly-positioned (uncentered), was redone so badly that there were inch-wide holes in the caulking. The photos below represent their second attempt at this "fix." He was supposed to fix a second sink as well, but after seeing the first, I quickly yanked that from the list. And to add insult to injury, his estimate was 3x more than the insurance company allotted for the same work and twice as much as my upstairs neighbors will pay for repairing their more significant damage from the same water event. I live in a beautiful, high-end apartment, and I thought between the reviews here and NYZ's inflated budget, I could expect exceptional work. Meanwhile, I will have to hire another team to repair the overpriced work done by NYZ. Don't make the same mistake I did!!

The work was excellent, they did an excellent job. They were always punctual and very reasonable with their pricing. their responsiveness was excellent, they've displayed their professionalism very well.

The craftsmanship was outstanding and the work exceeded my expectations. Punctual and very responsible to my property, they really understand how to work in a Manhattan apt. with all the co--op rules and building regulations. I hope to hire them again when I purchase my next apartment.

Rishi and his team redid my kitchen and floors in my apartment. I am very pleased with their work and am just about to have them start on my bathroom as well. I couldn't be more happy. It has been so difficult for me to find good, honest workers, who pay attention to detail, help to cut costs rather than add them and are a joy to be around. I have lived in my co-op for over 15 years and for the first time feel like I have a contractor who I can easily go to and trust that job will get done as I had intended it to. Rishi even repaired little extra things around my apartment that were bothering me-- at a fraction of what I would have paid to have someone come in to fix. Rishi's team worked on demo for the kitchen, emptying everything out, so the cabinet maker could come in and do his part. I was impressed at the care he took with all my personal items and how clean they left everything at the end of their work days. When the cabinetmaker finished his part of the renovation, Rishi's team came back and did all the trim, counters, walls, and installed beautiful hardwood flooring in the kitchen and into the halls of my 1200 sq foot apartment. The best part about the work they did was the excellent quality and ease. The next best was that they finished their work on time and within budget. I cannot recommend these guys enough!

I hired NYZ Contractors to renovate my kitchen and bathroom. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. It was neatly done, the painting was superb, the guys were professional, and the price was below the estimate of two other contractors. I highly recommend them - if you hire them you too will not be disappointed!
