N&Z General Contracting/Detailing

Zane came and looked at the project and gave the price of $13,000. First of all the roof did not need to be done, but he was more than happy to take advantage of an elderly person. Zane met with my mother around October 7, 2024. He gave her the estimate of $13,000 and at that time she paid him the full amount in cash. At a later date a contract was provided, but there was no detail of what he was going to do or what work would be performed. It was a 4 page contract and on the last page was a place for a signature. It is my mother’s signature, but she does not remember ever signing anything. And now that we have a copy of the contract it states weather permitting. The week of October 14, 2024 Zane called to say he would be there the weekend of October 26th to start the roof. He then called on Friday, October 25, 2024 to say he did not have all of the material and would not be starting the roof as planned on the 25th. However he then called backed to say that they would be delivering the roofing material on Friday, Oct 25, 2024, which the company did. So obviously he had all fo the material. The week of November 19, 2024 Zane did show up with another person and started to and somewhat finished the small section of the front roof. What should have taken him a couple hours took a half a day or more. Makes me wonder if he even knew what he was doing. There is a huge piece of flashing sticking out that could cause water damage just to be left exposed and hanging. He then left not to be heard from again. My mother had sent him an email on November 25, 2024 after not hearing from him asking for a receipt of the $13,000 and asking if he would be coming soon and asking when he planned to do the roof. IT CAN BE MAILED TO JOANNE MCCABE, PO BOX 604, OGDENSBURG, NEW YORK 13669. IF I AM ON YOUR SCHEDULE FOR YOU TO COME HERE SOON, YOU COULD JUST BRING IT THEN. SECONDLY, CAN YOU LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE PLANNED TO DO MY ROOF. I SEE , WHAT LOOKS TO ME LIKE A JAGGED PIECE OF METAL ON THE PORCH ROOF NEAR THE MAIN CAMP. I HAVE CHECKED EVERY DAY INSIDE THE CAMP AND DO NOT SEE ANY NEW STAINS, SO I AM THINKING IT IS OK BUT WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW. I HAVE PUT UP SOME OF MY SNOW FENCE. THERE IS AN OPENING IN THE MIDDLE. WE HAVE MEN COMING TO FIX THE LAST CRIB. IF YOU SHOULD COME AND THEY ARE PARKED THERE , THERE IS ALSO ROOM TO PARK IN THE OPEN AREA THAT GOES ALONG SIDE OF YOUR MATERIAL. THE AREA IS TO YOUR LEFT WHEN YOU FACE THE FENCE. REGARDS, JOANNE MCCABE She never heard back from him. My brother David called him a few times asking him to return his call. My brother has the same last name as my mother so we are sure the reason he did not call back was because he knew what it was about. After several attempts I called him on December 9, 2024. He did answer. I told him who I was and asked him when he was going to come and finish the roof at my mother’s place. He told me he would get to it. I firmly told him I was giving him until December 20, 2024 to finish the roof. Then he hung up on me. I called the other number on his business card which was his wife and left a message. She texted me back and said that her husband did not hang up on me and that they had terrible cell service and they would be there this week to finish the roof. But their vehicle was in the shop. I also questioned him if he thought the roof really needed to be replaced, because it did not and we feel he has taken advantage of an 86 year old, whether the roof needed to be done or not. I also questioned his ethics about taking the money without doing the work. He claims my mother insisted he take $13.000 in cash. She said he took, went to his car, sat there (probably counting the money) and left. He claimed he has 6 kids and was in the hospital for 4 weeks and that he did call my mother. Well he did finally call her on December 11th and TOLD HER, “ I told you I was busy”. I could go on and on. I do have all of the text messages and the so called contract I would love to share with you. We have reached out to him view text and emails with no response. We are going into the 4th month. My last text with him was yesterday January 28, 2025. He did tell my brother the last time they spoke that he was done with this. I would also like to add he used the F word with me. I also have other information on this character and will be glad to share.

Not good, he only put on 1 coat, directions say 2 coats 1st coat 1 direction 2nd coat other direction. I paid 1200.00 for a job that should have only cost about 400.00 according to other people in the park but it was labor day weekend and needed something done quickly. Zane said he would be back to apply more but after 2 weeks he was still a no show. I attempted to call and text him but he doesn't like to be called out on his lack of communication. I gave him a chance to call me for 3 days while we were at our place for the weekend and also the next Monday but no response. The only thing he was really worried about was if I would give him a good rating not making things right. So no I would not recommend him for anything.

While replacing my roof he Payed attention to every detail. The work was finished on time. And the clean up was perfect like he was never even there. And pricing was very reasonable. As well as the detailing of my truck. After it was done, the truck was like I just picked it up from a dealership brand new. I would definitely refer him to anyone.

The team was prompt and on time excellent service and support will hire again anytime for any project. Even had them work up a few quotes one more work around my home.

The job was done in a timely fashion. Very professional and friendly service. I was extremely pleased with the work when completed and the price was very affordable. I will be recommending to others and I will hire again to complete more work on my home.

Everything went great. We were told about N&Z by a friend. And omgggg. Thank you with all the rain we have had our roof literally was garbage. They tore off all our old roofing cleaned up Everything from that mess. And put a whole new roof on our 2200sq roof. They did it fast and let me just say their prices cannot be beat. I also hired them to do a weekly cleaning in my house. Which so far has been the best and biggest help. Highly recommended

It was an all around great experience. Great person to have come do work for you. Reliable honest work. Shows up and gets the job done in a timely manner. Will be calling back for future jobs.

Amazing job. We are so happwith our new porch. It's huge!! This is a family owned company which we loved. They were mindful of our family which is huge. Our new addition required a whole new build roofing walls flooring . And we had them do plumbing to add our hottub on our back porch. Very very thankful for N&Z. We will be hiring them back!!!
