OC Construction

OC replaced a concrete back porch that had a water pipe running thru it with a beautiful redwood deck with stairs on one side and a ramp on the other. They moved the water pipe into the crawlspace. The new porch is beautiful and well made. The owner, Carlos, was extremely responsive and promptly answered questions. He also visited the worksite numerous times to make sure everything was going as planned. I strongly recommend OC Construction.

I can't say enough positive things about Carlos and his crew. I contacted Carlos under his former business, Olguin Drywall and Painting, to get a quote on painting our house. Our foyer had obvious water damage around the windowsills that had come from bad construction before we bought the place, and so I hired him to redo the drywall in that room, and to fix our back stairs. After the old drywall was off in our foyer, it was obvious that more needed to be done... several beams had rotted completely through and the window frames were beyond repair, so Carlos worked up a quote for effectively completely redoing our walls and window frames in that room. The back stairs also ended up needing to be replaced, something that I suspected would be true before I hired him for the work. He also repaired a water damaged front balcony. Throughout the entire process, which took several weeks total, Carlos and his crew were polite and hard-working. Carlos consulted with me on the house painting and the final result looks great. He threw in some extra work on replacing some of the wood around the edge of the roof, and has taken extra care in reattaching some of the fixtures that had to come down for the work. Every time we discovered unexpected extra work, Carlos was very clear with me about options, and also presented clearly written change orders. Communication was top notch throughout. Carlos is a nice guy and clearly takes pride in doing a job properly, and can do a wide range of construction projects. I'll definitely look him up again if I have another piece of contracting work in the house.

I've been doing a pretty major remodel on my condo - new flooring throughout, new lighting, new fireplace, new crown molding, and painting. I originally hired Carlos nearly 2 months ago to paint a few rooms. When I saw on his website that he could do crown molding as well, I asked him to do that first. My flooring (done by a different vendor) was not complete at that point, so painting would have to wait until that was done. <br /> The crown molding looks absolutely beautiful! Every corner is perfectly liined up, and even though my ceilings are not completely level and flush, Carlos was able to magically line up the moldings so that they look perfectly straight. He has an amazing eye for detail and no matter how much I stare at the moldings (which I do a lot from my bed), I have yet to find any issues at all with them. <br /> As for painting, his crew did a great job on that as well! Carlos was very patient with me despite repeated delays on getting started due to numerous issues with my flooring vendor. Several times, I scheduled Carlos and his crew to start painting on a specific day, only to find out that day or just before that the flooring vendor had more issues and was not able to get the baseboards installed correctly in time as promised. This was a hassle for Carlos, I'm sure, because he had scheduled his crew to begin working on this project, and he had to find something else for them to do. I am very grateful to Carlos for his continued patience and not adding to my stress level which was high due to the (still) ongoing flooring issues. <br /> Another great thing - Carlos is great about communicating. He will call or email you back, normally within a few hours during a project, but there may be a bit more of a delay if you don't have an urgent message and he's working a lot of hours on another project. His crew was very respectful, they showed up when they said they would, and cleaned up after themselves. I've never hired professional painters before, so I don't know if this is standard or not, but they covered EVERYTHING in my place that wasn't getting painted. They made a cool pattern with paper taped together over all of my floors and the rest of my stuff was put in the center of each room and sealed up in plastic. <br /> I highly recommend (Carlos) Olguin Drywall and Painting! I've already hired him back to do more work! <br /> <br />
