Consumers beware. There is no "restoration" in this business's services. I contacted them to repair a 3' x 3' area of water damage to my living room ceiling. They sent someone to inspect it, who never mentioned that I would have to find someone else to "restore" the ceiling after they left. They charged me almost $4,000 to tear it apart and walked away. They should change their name to “Cleaning and Demolition.”

I called Octagon the day after we had an upstairs water leak. The next day, Octagan had scheduled a technician to assess the damage and set up the mitigation solutions to dry out the damage before mold could set in. Everyone from Octagon was friendly, professional and very responsive. If you need a fast, reliable and effective response, you will find it with Octagon!

Job started a day later than scheduled due to their equipment being down. Job was originally scheduled for 5-7 days. Job actually took 2 weeks and salesman called into the third week saying the job was done. We have never had mold remediation done before and was selling our house. The explanation of how the job would go was vague at best. This is not a process we are familiar with having never been through it before. In the estimate there was a blanket statement of “any construction materials removed will not be replaced” (once again we were never explained anything about this process in regards to things being removed). Upon the job being completed the buyer noticed there was no mention of insulation replacement. We were 2 days from closing and had to hire someone to replace the insulation. The handyman hired to replace the insulation noticed other items had been removed by octagon. We were not left a list of items removed from the residence. I was just told by Matt Brown that “that’s why I gave you a referral of a weatherization company” for 8300$ one would think you might get a verbal explanation of items needing replacement or at least an itemized list. Hope we don’t need to go through this again because as Octagon will not be contacted again.

It went great. Chris wa very polite, practiced Covid Precaustions and explained what he was doing. He left no mess and my carpets are cleaned.

I highly recommend Octagon Cleaning and Restoration. We recently purchased a house on the water and discovered that we had a mold issue in our basement. Matt and his crew were professional, informed us what needed to be done and completely eliminated the mold and the musty smell. Matt was very responsive to my texts, answered all my questions and a great representative of Octagon.

They are good when they work but did not complete the job, did not find source of problem, did not communicate and disappeared in the middle. Job not completed and had to get another company to finish. They do not return calls.

Robert came out and was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and explained the mold was small and not an issue. He discovered what we thought to be chipmunks that nested in our attic. He explained it was not harmful, but if it was his home, he would remove insulation and clean thoroughly. That's what we did. We scheduled a date for his team to come back, and they were very thorough! They worked all day up there which was a warm day and cleaned every corner. I did not see any droppings whatsoever. Professional, hardworking, intelligent folks. Could not be more pleased with their work!

After a hot water pressure relieve valve water leak in my basement caused some headache I called Octagon Cleaning who was out the next day. A brief assessement and the crew was at work cleaning up the mess. Great crew, very professional, and fast! Will definetly use again and recommend to anyone needing the service.

The associate (Justin) was on time and was very personable. He did a good job on much of the carpet but there were a couple of stains left. To be fair, the carpet was very dirty and he did get several stains out, but as it dried a couple of the stains did come back. It looked very good when it was still wet and he left. It was only the next day that I saw some stains reappearing. I was surprised at how quickly he finished the job. There was no follow up call to check on my satisfaction.

<p>Scheduled the cleaning the man showed up on time. Did a walk through in the basement with him to make sure we were on the same page based on the estimate I had received. Left him and he went at it.</p> <p>When he was done went down for a walk through and was less than pleased. He said he did all that was asked so we parted ways. This did not sit well and went back down and could clearly see all the areas were not done even remotely to my satisfaction. Some areas looked to be untouched completely.</p> <p>So, this is where Octagon shines. I called up and talked with a really nice person and expressed my disappointment. She sent over two people right away to check things out. These two (one of which was the wonderful young woman who gave me my estimate) came right over, agreed the job was less than promised and got to work re-cleaning the whole basement.</p> <p>When they finished I was more than happy with the results. Things happen and don't always go smoothly. It's how companies handle the problems that shows their true character. Octagon came through with flying colors. I would absolutely use them again. they made things right.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />

My dealings with this firm were among the best I?ve experienced as a Maine homeowner and that?s saying a lot. The tech who cleaned the carpets throughout my home, Justin, was pleasant, conscientious and capable. He accommodated my requests <br /> even when unanticipated, such as cleaning an area rug that hadn?t been included in my original work order. He also managed to remove soot ? <em>by hand, as though the carpet were his own</em> ? from an area that had been unsuccessfully cleaned by another, nationally known restoration firm. I especially appreciated his calling me with an updated ETA so that I wouldn?t be inconvenienced by the delay he experienced at an earlier account. Everything about the interaction was professionally executed and at a reasonable price. I just can?t say enough good things about Octagon and in particular, Justin. <br /> As an aside, it?s an indication of their commitment to excellence that Octagon maintains an informative, well-written blog that provides helpful tips and more. <br /> <br />
