Matt is very knowledgeable and professional. He knew exactly what to do and went right to work. He even took the time to show me the correct way to use it, since I’ve never had one before. Very considerate and answered all my questions.

Matt and his team do good work and are knowledgeable when it comes to all things chimney and fireplace related. Matt really helped me out by finding a major design/work that another remodeling company did at my house. If he didn't see what they did, it could have resulted in a possible fire if I used my fireplace the way they left things. I really appreciate all they did and the work they performed.

Installation was great! Their team arrived early to confirm locations and made sure everything was good. They finished in a timely manner and cleaned up too.

Oesterling Chimney Sweep did a great job. They inspected my chimney while cleaning it and realized that some mortar joints were cracked. They promptly repaired them and added a chimney cap to help protect the chimney. They were very clean and did the job quickly.

This letter is in reference to Oesterling chimney sweep in Columbus Indiana. I had a problem with my fireplace that I needed repaired, and their website said that they did chimney repair and restoration. I knew what the problem was and felt as if they would have seen this before. My first contact was by email, but I was not contacted so I called to schedule an appointment. I then sent pictures of the roof as well as a description of the problem, so that they would be prepared. Again no response so I called to make sure that the pictures had been received, and that the primary objective of this visit was to repair the problem, secondary was to clean the fireplace. The problem was that when the insert was installed, a large hole had been cut into the back of the existing fireplace so that a new flue could be installed. This area had not been sealed, nor had the chimney cap been sealed to the top of the chimney. The smell inside the house, as well as a blower door test revealed this problem. I had asked Oesterling to seal the chimney cap. What they did was to install a ¼” strip of insulation behind the fireplace surround. This did not fix the problem, so I complained. They did come out again but only proceeded to force more insulation around the surround, to the point it is visible from within the room. My next email asked if they had sealed the chimney cap to the chimney. No response. Oesterling had charged me for a level 2 inspection, which would include examination of the exterior of the chimney. Since they did not respond, it is doubtful that this was done. The problem has not been repaired, and I must now find someone else to repair.

Long story, but this company is horse ****! Oh...since it’s making me answer this question, yes money was paid, but no work wasn’t done.

were Osterling was the only one of the four service providers I had contacted over the past two years whose estimate to rehab. our fireplaces was less than what it had recently cost us to replace our roof.  They were also the only one who confidently asserted that they could fix the sooty odor problem of the upstairs fireplace They were also the only ones who did not need us to hire a plumber for the gas line installation.  They sold us a beautiful gas log, did not break a sweat over the inevitable job specific challenges, and came in for a final bill that was less than the estimate.  I have not written a review until now because I needed the cold weather to allow for at least a half dozen fires in each fireplace to confirm a no-problems status. <br />

I wanted a Blaze King woodstove. They were the nearest Blaze King dealers who also installed. <br /> Throughout the process of inspecting the proposed installation, Matt Oesterling patiently discussed options with me, and at each step advised me of the least expensive route to take. Having done my own research - which I advise anyone contemplating similar purchase to do, I did not always take his advice, but he was flexible and his pricing was fair (I had already priced parts from distributors). <br /> He and his crew arrived at the appointed time, did a professional installation, and cleaned up thoroughly. <br />
