Patrick had done work on my GE Fridge in the past, so when my ice maker was not working properly, I called him. He had to order the part, but when it came in he came back out and installed it. Now it works like a charm!
He came in and was very quick and effective. He fixed the washing machine with no problems and cleaned up after the work was finished. Overall, it was a great experience. No complaints! It's worked just fine since!
I have relied on Ole's Appliance Repair for more than 16 years for all of my appliance issues. Patrick has regularly proven himself to be efficient, reliable and honest. Today, he performed at $200 repair that saved me from spending close to $2000 for a new refrigerator to replace my 16 year old model. I trust his reasonable advice about when it's worth repairing something and when it's not. I recommend him without reservation.
My water dispenser on my GE refrigerator kept freezing up. On his original visit he looked at it and called one of his co-workers, who once worked for GE, for his assessment. A part was ordered and they both came a week or so later and installed it. It is working like a charm! The thing I appreciate most, is his works on Saturdays, which most providers do not. He was also very responsive keeping in touch and updated by email. Highly recommended!
They were awful with us. We would never use them again or recommend them. I was surprised to see them there because I have a neighbor who has had similar experiences. The guy hung up on me when I was trying to tell them about something that went wrong and I never heard from them. I lost money on that deal. They are not owned by Ole himself anymore, they are not just the same as they used to be. I have used them for years and they have somebody different. They got the wrong icemaker. We have a sub zero icemaker and it was causing problems and I called to talk to him about that and the guy actually hung up on me. I tried to call them back and they would never respond. So I got somebody else to come out. The new people that came out tried to deal with the one that they put in. They didn’t put the proper icemaker in our subzero and they put another one and finagled with it to make it fit in, so we have chosen not to even have one now but I lost over a couple of hundred dollars. Right now our icemaker doesn’t work, they said that our option would be to get the one they should have put in originally, which was made for the subzero refrigerator. The phone experience was awful. There was no reason for him to hang up on me, I wasn’t yelling, and I didn’t cuss on them.

"This call happened over one year ago. The homeowner became personally insulting using foul language and service was at that point terminated. Myself or any technician with our company will be required to tolerate verbal abuse."

He did a good, clean, professional job. Unfortunately he could not solve the problem. It was an electronic part that is no longer available for replacement. I did not rate him A on everything because I am disappointed by the results -- not his fault. However I couldn't rate him on fixing the appliance because he could not fix it.
I have used Ole's Appliance for 16 years for all kinds of appliance repairs. Today Patrick did a great, quick job fixing my fridge and leveling my dishwasher (which wasn't mounted very well by the delivery guys from the store). He is always prompt, courteous, neat and honest. He has told me when it's worth it to repair something, and when it is not. His prices are reasonable. I have used him to fix my fridge, ovens, dishwasher and washer/dryer. I recommend him heartily.

The frig is about 17 years old and still working. Patrick knew exactly what is wrong with it. The compressor will have to be replaced at some point which will cost about $600. Given the age, Patrick's recommendation was to purchase a new refrigerator - not to waste money with repairs. Good advice, and I appreciate the honesty.

He also tested my dishwasher to see why the dishes are coming out gritty and filmy. He confirmed that it is functioning properly, which is what the last provider told me. But Patrick determined the problem - he ran the water to see how hot it was and determined my hot water temperature was set way too low. He explained that the water has to be above a certain temperature to fully activate the agents in the dishwasher detergent. I had no idea!

Patrick had a lot of other great advice and tips, and if he recommends replacing an appliance, he is very knowledgeable about the best brands and which ones to avoid.

Response from Ole's Appliance Service
"Many times a simple solution may solve an issue with an appliance. Having water above 120 degrees is vital to a great performance from your dishwasher."

Washer was leaking. The repairman said it was the pump and replaced it--very costly. Water was still pouring out when I used it. I called them and no one would come back for a week. The owner came. He noted that the hose was disconnected from the water. He re-attached it and left. He literally ran out the door with me running after him shouting at him to ask why they replaced the water pump and if the hose was all that was wrong. He jumped into his van and peeled away. I absolutely know I was cheated by the repairman and the owner knew it as well as he ran away without even telling me he had finished. Do not use these people.
Response from Ole's Appliance Service
"I appreciate the customers concerns over the repair. We responded quickly to the issue, addressed the problem and solved it. I will refrain from commenting on the peeling out, etc. The customer was not in any way ripped off. We have not stayed in business for 34 years by treating anyone intentionally unfairly."

I have been a loyal customer of Patrick Cleary's, and Ole's, for at least 15 years. They always have been responsive, accurate, polite and skilled. Knowing my appliances and how I described the problem, Patrick was able to diagnose my water leak problem in my refrigerator over the phone, so that he could get the appropriate parts and fix it in one trip. He has repaired our troublesome GE double ovens over the years and wisely recommended when it wasn't worth it to fix them anymore and urged us to replace them with better KitchenAid models (that has been a problem-free solution!).
You won't be sorry having Patrick as your go-to appliance repair man!
They came out for a service call and they said nothing was wrong my gas stove. I actually needed parts and something corrected on it. They said nothing was wrong with my gas stove. They just moved in basically and I asked them if they did any other work. They said they did heating and air conditioning which I don’t think they really are qualified to do. They changed 5 filters for my air conditioning and they charged me $ 200. They told me to come back and put those charge would be $ 139. When they got here, on the bill they put in the trip charge. The person that came lived about 5 miles from here. They were on Frost road and that was one of the reason I used them because I thought they were local. I wanted to use a local person. First of all, I thought the charge was unreasonable and I thought it will be less than $ 100. We called them many time to have them remove the service charge that they came from so close by. I think it was about $ 45 or $ 60. They wouldn’t return the phone call and finally after about 2 months, they agreed to remove the charge. They were also going to do some servicing. They didn’t end up doing because they didn’t have the right tools when they got here. It was a nightmare and I would never use them again. The pricing was unreasonable. It was really not a good experience and I felt that they were misrepresented on what they were going to do and what they charged for it. I would really feel bad when someone thought that they were going to do a good job and they come out. They also told me that there was nothing wrong with the part. When the other company came out, there was a defective part and there were some adjustments that needed to be made. Having someone like the other company come out that we found on Angie’s List and they were so wonderful. You can see the difference between a good company and not so good company.
Response from Ole's Appliance Service
"Its unfortunate that many people believe they should pay little to nothing for service. It costs many thousands of dollars to remain in business. Everyone in the local area pays the same for service."
