Do not recommend this company to anyone wanting to build a pool. Here is our experience with them. We signed our contract on 9/11/20. Our sales person told us that our pool will be done in 6 months because of COVID-19 and all the delays it has brought to the construction field. Their paper work also stated that “it is fair to expect 6 months” from sign to swim. I have it in my hand. We went ahead with signing our contract because at the time everything checked out with them. We wanted our pool ready by summer so our 3 daughters would be able to swim when school was out. We gave ourselves enough time for delays. It is now 4/12/21 (7 months since signing), a month and a half from school being out and 36K out of pocket. Our dream oasis is a hole in our back yard with rebar and plastic everywhere. We are experiencing washout from rain, so the hole is getting bigger and closer to our house. Which is our biggest fear - that it will compromise our home’s foundation. It has been nearly 8 weeks since inspection passed for LDS and no more work has been done. This may be abandonment of work. Will have to check that out. We have called countless times to get this resolved. We speak to person after person and no one can help. Our project manager quit and we didn’t know until after 2 weeks of no returned calls. I decided to call the office and they informed me. They gave me a new Project Manager and he quit 2 days after starting. Now I’m on my 3rd project manager and I haven’t met him. I am on the brink of calling the news outlets and posting on all social media our story. It seems like hundreds of other people are going through this from what I’ve read on their Facebook page. We just need answers and timelines and no one seems to be able to help. They require payments immediately and we pay, so why can’t I require them to be timely with their work??? Is that too much to ask? Please reach out to me if you need more info on Olympus Pools and our experience. I am Willing to update this if they make things right! Thanks for reading!

Contract signed Feb 2020- for pool/spa/outdoor kitchen - once the home was complete ( new build) June 25,2020 - permit submitted to Sarasota county - 4 months in permitting ( with no customer updates- blamed COVID) upon discussions with permitting dept Sarasota county.. and online review- over 2 months of the delay was Olympus's inability to provide documents needed and timely responses. Excavation- did not happen until Dec 2 and did not complete with Rebar until Dec 18th. Should have been a 48 hour job. Required two different crews to finish. Waited another 1 1/2 months for the next phase - Gunite- That was done 2nd week in Feb. Next tile and coping.. end of February, plumbing was also done during this time. Once tile was completed- we realized they did not lay the tile appropriately. No mortar used.. nothing was leveled- and the whole pool was a mess. See pictures. Brought this to Medallions attention and they agreed. Ordered new batch of tile and currently waiting for new tile contractor to tear everything down and reinstall tile coping and footers repaired. We've been waiting almost a 2 months with 0 communication. This is where it currently stands. Over 10 months into this project. 80k in CASH already paid- as that is required to "order" materials... and this is what we have.... this is actually criminal. And I am one of many. If your like to see others check the BBB or Olympus pools sucks on Facebook- there's a whole page... #Olympuspools

Awful experience! This place is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. The project manager's are not qualified in any way whatsoever. We had to fire our first one "Mark" and then our second one Miguel was just as bad maybe worse. Multiple times we were lied to and told stories about delays and issues. Good luck getting hold of any of the project managers. They will ignore your phone calls and texts. We got so upset from all the lies and terrible workmanship that we called the main company in Lutz and asked to talk to the owners. They put us in touch with their customer service rep Pete who was the rudest customer rep! He was very defensive and would talk right over me before ever hearing what the reason I even called for. I asked to talk to the owner Mario and he said "no". I replied "did you just tell me no?" and then he said "well it's because Mario is at a wedding....mind you today was Monday. Wedding on a Monday? It got so bad that we had to tell our finance company to hold payment. After firing our first project manager we ended up with Miguel. This guy is clueless. The pool workmanship was a joke. Mistakes with the plumbing. They had to tear up some of the tile work to fix. When they came to reattach the pipes it was during the tropical storm we had in September. They were basically gluing the pipes in a torrential downpour! Yep that glue should hold well! I went out to talk to the crew (sporting flip flops and beach gear) gluing my pipes and said, " I'm electrician and you really shouldn't be gluing pipes in the rain." He told me he had a special rain resistant "glue" LOL! We have friends in the neighborhood who went with other companies and did not have any of the problems we experienced. There's another pool around the corner from us Olympus is building....those purchasers are in the process of suing the company and have lawyers involved. Look at the reviews earlier. You can't miss it The review is long. Their issues is pretty much a mirror image of all the issues we had. We are still waiting on things that have not been taken care of. We just gave up and decided to do it ourselves. We were made a lot of promises that were not honored. The workmanship is subpar and very unorganized. My travertine tile is completely unlevel and dipped on one end of the four corners. Everyone who comes over asked me what happened in that particular corner. I tell them my second project manager - Miguel took pictures and said he'd get back to me and of course he never did and never will. The cleanup was atrocious I basically had to have a dumpster brought in to pick up all the junk myself. And the grading was non-existent. We even tried to get a hold of the owner of Olympus - Mario through the only way we could find this phantom which was LinkedIn. No matter who we talked to at Olympus pools and how many times we asked for the owner(s) we were never able to do so. We even talked to the accountant who fielded some of our calls to prevent us from talking to the owner(s). Feel free to reach out to me and I can give you a detailed dissertation of my problems along with pictures. I'm going to say this and hope you heed the warning, do not use this company. *****UPDATE******. As you can see they replied to my review. Do you think they even tried to contact me or rectify the situation? Nope! This company is just full of lies and smoking mirrors. They are non-existent once they get you to sign the contract. Buyer beware! Feel free to reach out to me I have lots of pictures that I will post that show the horrible workmanship. Wait till you see the pictures of my lawn when they said they were done picking up the garbage and grading my lawn ? It was a wreck! Cost me hundreds to repair and I had to get a dumpster to get rid of all their left over garbage. Awful company! ******Update****** February 7th 2021. Still have never tried to contact me per their reply to my review. They act like the care. Liars! Stay away!

Top to bottom this company is horrible. They will lie, disrespect the customer, not show up when they promise then will talk down to you if you complain. The lack of professionalism is appalling. They only care about the bottom dollar with no respect to the customer. Horrible experience!

This has been an awful experience from start to finish. All of the problems with Olympus has cost us thousands of dollars in engineering and attorney fees. Our pool has been completed for a couple months but Olympus still has all their trash here. We have been told someone is coming to get the trash but no one ever shows. We have finally given up our fight with Olympus.

Our Pool was Built by Olympus Pools in Dec.2016. It was never completed. The Pool was also not built to our Specification having an in pool table and seats omitted as well as the installation of water features we did not authorize. Most importantly Olympus never installed a safety rail for us to enter and exit the Pool as we had agreed in the beginning. They were fully aware I am a disabled Veteran who requires this to utilize the pool. We chased them for answers for more than ten months until I finally posted a review of the facts surrounding our particular pool project. Well, at least that was successful in motivating them to contact me. A nice young man named Doug Griffith contact me for an URGENT meeting. We met on Tuesday, October 3rd 2017. Doug made several promises that day to resolve our issues, none of which have been rectified as of today 2/5/2018. Yes, 4 more months, the only achievement was to remove the twin spill over Bowls (which we neither selected nor APPROVED) and in an attempt to solve a possible pool leak, remove most of the stacked stone Surface from the Spa spill over. I have thought about this review for a while. After receiving quotes from multiple contractors, we hired Olympus to install a saltwater free form pool in January 2015. The time frame we were told was 8 weeks. The pool was finally completed in May. Contractors didn't show up, parts of the process were delayed because "the inspector couldn't make it out", didn't pass inspection numerous times because of compliance issues. I informed the company of the spillway granite being cracked prior to installation, and they still installed it. After calling a bunch of times to get it fixed, no one showed. Figured I would just deal with it. Once it was FINALLY completed, the pool looked beautiful (minus the cracked spillway). Our pool service has had an issue regulating the salt and chlorine levels since the installation of the pool. A year later, just before our warranty was up, I called because our water level didn't seem to be maintained and our pool cleaning service told us that it was probably due to a leak. I called Olympus, they sent someone out to fix the spillway (finally!) and the guy they sent out told me there was no leak (although he didn't even really look) and that our pool cleaning service was just not good and didn't know what he was doing. I was shocked and upset that he had the nerve to insult someone that he didn't know. (Our pool cleaning service is top notch). They did fix the spillway at this time, but it took at least 2 weeks to send someone out to do the work. Once we figured that Olympus was not going to fix the later level problem, our cleaning service brought in his own recommended specialist who found a leak by the skimmer within minutes of being here. The cell in the system also wasn't producing nearly like it should. Olympus didn't help to fix the issue and the communication was less than acceptable. We dealt with Ashley at their office who was helpful for us, but no one else seemed to know what was happening during the process. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The design is beautiful but that is it.

Remodeled our pool area 2 years ago. They did not seal the skimmer while doing the work. Still dealing with the mess of rocks into the skimmer and pipes, costing us thousands of dollars to get it all fixed and having to have the travertine removed to tear out the decking underneath to repair the broken pipes and replace the skimmer.

<p>They were horrible. I am still fighting them. They left crap in my yard that they shouldn't have. I paid them cash. What recourse do I have. There is a tile in my pool that is going to have to be fixed; it's horrible. They sent one guy out months later to fix it but he couldn't and said he would have to come back, but he never did. They left a big pile of wood with nails in it in my yard and I have three dogs. I was so mad. The pool still is not right and they sold me the cheapest salt cell; it was not big enough for the pool. It also was not the right kind of salt cell for the pool. They screwed everything up. The price, I think, was okay. They did not follow the site plans we had already made for the pool and tried to charge me more money to change the location of the pool but I did not do it. Their quality of work was garbage. I kept a complete record of the entire process and gave one to the company after it was all done. The owner was supposed to show up and never did. They were awful. They never got the same people coming out and they did not come when they were supposed to.</p>

.The construction process was a nightmare. The contractors did not show up when expected, and occassionally showed up, without anyone calling to say they were coming.. There was a tremendous amount of debris in my yard, throughout the entire construction process, including wood with large nails, bottles, trash, cigarette butts, etc.  There was NO regard for my landscaping , and when a tree was broken, the contractor attempted to hide it. I made a list of approximately 25 "no call, no shows", meaning, that someone was scheduled to come and complete the next step of the construction process, and no one showed or called. Calls are NEVER returned, when you call the office, even though you are told "someone will call you back, when the meeting is over". <br /> I bought a salt water pool, and have had to add chlorine to the pool, as it turns green within 10 days, because the salt cell, is not making chlorine.  After 10 months, I am still missing 3 covers, needed for the bottom of the pool.  <br />  .I made a huge mistake purchasing a pool from Olympus Pools, and hope that I can prevent someone else from making that same mistake. I learned too late, that the best way to select a pool contractor, is to ask people who have had pools built on their property, about their experiences. . It is also a good idea to talk to pool store managers, who can tell you, what pool companies do not have a plethora of complaints. <br />

I looked around at several pool builders before deciding on Olympus, and I'm glad that I did...  I initially worked with Santiago, and he did a great job designing a pool that was exactly what I wanted based on his perception of what I liked.  I didn't have to accept some cookie cutter pool shape, mine was designed based on what I wanted.  I also caught some pretty good specials, so my interior is warranted for life as is the rest of the physical pool.  They told me it would be completed in 6 - 8 weeks, and mine was filled and fired up exactly in 6 weeks.  Had a few hiccups with equipment and some landscaping issues, but whenever I needed something done, Brian was the person I contacted, and things happened pretty quickly.  As I sit in my enclosure writing this review, and am still smiling broadly because I got exactly what I wanted, and then some... <br />

We got a pool, spa, lanai and everything. When they started our pool, they started to get other customers. So it took a little longer to get ours finished because they were getting more customers as ours was being built. So ours was put on the back burner because they got so many customers in their system. I did recommend them to a neighbor. You have to make sure your salesperson puts everything in writing because a lot of times we came up on the issue of stuff that was going to be done and it either, wasn't done to the right standard or the measurements that they promised or they tried not to do it at all. So you have to just make sure everything is in writing and make sure you ask a lot of questions. Do your home work before you have them. They were pretty reasonable. They are a company where they sub some of the stuff like the plumbing and lanai. They're not actually doing all of the stuff. Some of the sub contractors weren't as professional as I would like someone who is representing my company.

After a scheduling misunderstanding with "Santiago", and numerous other estimate and designs from other companies, we decided to give Olympus Pools another try.  Santiago came out to our residence on May 16, 2015, and started working on designing our pool  We met with Santiago about two weeks later at his office, where he presented the design.  We were impressed.  Santiago's design was top notch and included everything we wanted.  Their prices were not the lowest, but they are not the highest either.  At the end we decided to go with Olympus Pools.  We are happy we gave them another chance.

"Dear [member name removed], We have never met or spoken as I believe you are a friend or relative of one of our customers. Despite what you may have been told, our client didn't finalize their selections until mid December, only accepted materials that were out of stock so we then had to wait for them to come in. Once they arrived, we were on site the next day. We speak with our client almost daily and are at the house almost every day. The work is absolutely gorgeous. This review is simply angry online vitriol and negativity. It is very disappointing one would take the time to put such an awful review online without ever even meeting or speaking with any of us. It is inaccurate, completely false, and very disappointing to see."

<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <p>Wanted to start off by saying we are happy with the quality of the workers and the finished (almost) product.  The contractors answered all our questions during the construction process.  </p> <p> </p> <p>The pool was started on 20 Oct 2014 and we were told it would be done in approx. 6-8 weeks.  We understand there would be delays for permits or weather but today is 3 Feb 2015 (15 weeks later) and we are still not finished.  This caused issues trying to re-sod, re-run sprinklers, and repairing the fence.</p> <p> </p> <p>The communication process was by far the worst I have ever dealt with.  There were constant excuses why something wasn't scheduled or "I thought  that was taken care of."  I repeatedly told Olympus to please use my work number during the day because I work in a location where cell phones are not allowed, but invariably I would get to my car @1630 and there would be a missed call from Olympus.  </p> <p> </p> <p>In my head it makes no sense how a company can build pools for a living and have so much difficulty managing a process they do all the time.  I'm not sure where the disconnect is but their project management appears fairly inefficient.</p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <p>Edited...</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>I do not want to argue but to blame on me for the lack of communication...I call B.S.  My work number was given to the front office multiple times but not used.  If you would like, I can provide you the call logs from my work number showing the exact number of calls that came from Olympus.  This was a recurring issue over the 4 month build process and was addressed multiple times.</p> <p> </p> <p>On 7 Dec (Name withheld) emailed me the following:</p> <p> </p> <p>"I apologize, I have been out sick this week. Now that your screen is up we will need to call in a safety inspection. Your safety alarms will be installed by us, we would like to install them early one morning and call in our inspection the same day. Unfortunately, the city will not give us a time they can show up anytime between 8AM and 5PM. Please let me know if there is a day that works better for you."</p> <p> </p> <p>The alarm apt was scheduled for 8 Dec.  The Tech came and installed the alarms and I was told again, the inspector would be there later.  The inspector did not show up that day but instead on the 10th but that was not communicated to me.  The re-inspection did not take place until the 30th and my wife just happened to be home and there was no prior coord to arrange the apt.</p> <p> </p> <p>Prior to the deck crew coming out, I inquired with Olympus about adding a step between my existing lanai and the deck.  I was told it would cost an additional $500.  At this point, the one I paid for wasn?t installed yet so I decided to wait.  I came home from work on 6 Feb and the step was poured.  The form was still there as well as two bags of quickcrete.  The form was made out of three  2x8s.  I thought to myself, this is what $500 dollars gets me?  So I went to Lowes, bought a hoe, 4 bags of concrete and a tub to mix it in.  This cost me $34 and was done in less than an hour.  I understand the need for businesses to make a profit but either your ?step? guy is gouging the h*** out of you or you are gouging the h*** out of me. This is what sealed it for me that either I didn?t spend enough money or you guys didn?t care.</p> <p> </p> <p>FYI...The deck crew stated the finishing of the deck had to be done in two phases, on separate days, 1) pressure wash the deck, 2) paint the deck on a different day (after it had dried).  I have already coordinated with the deck crew on rescheduling the apt outside of Olympus</p> <p> </p> <p>I appreciate the response on and for giving me another chance to tell my side of the story.  If you have any further questions, you could respond to either email sent by my wife or myself, or we can continue in this public forum. </p> <p> </p> <p>With kindest regards,</p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />

"Dear [name removed], We greatly appreciate your feedback and your high marks for our quality of staff, product, and professionalism. If an any way we failed to meet your expectations regarding communication, we greatly apologize. I understand you constantly saw missed calls from us, and that is frustrating. We have the phone numbers you provided when you signed up, and we try both numbers each time. We were usually unsuccessful trying the work number, and would try the cell next time. We will try harder in the future and apologize for any incovenience this caused. Unfortunately, because the project does require you to be home for one of the inspections, and this has understandably take a long time to coordinate with the nature of your work, it did cause quite the delay. On January 28th Melissa thought a step was finished that was not and she did say she thought that was done. That was our error and we apologize and the step was completed quickly after. Our deck crew also informed us that you requested they wait until you finish building a step before they come back to finish and you are going to inform them you are done. Please let us know when you are finished so we can come back and wrap that up. I believe everything else is done. If you have any questions or concerns please, as always, do not hesitate to give us a call and we will be happy to help. Thank you again for your feedback, your new pool is beautiful! Congratulations, and thank you again!"

Started construction on March 4th and was told they would be finished most likely in 6-8 weeks, not over 12 weeks. Started strong but went downhill quickly. Repeatedly did not show up when scheduled, came when they felt like it. Once bulk of pool was done could not get finish work done. Were still working on pool in mid-June. Series of problems with installation - failed to put a check valve in the hot tub so it kept draining itself overnight. Failed to flush out the lines for the in-floor cleaning system; pool had been cleaned, water was ready for swimming but then when they started the cleaning system it filled the pool with mud. Initially when they started up the pool, they told us the pool would be clean and ready to use in 24 hours. 7 days later it was not doing anything and I had called repeatedly. Finally had a pool company come by and found out that they had programmed the filter to run from 8am till 10am - 2 hours a day, was supposed to be 8am till 10pm to get the pool cleaned initially. Reprogrammed and pool was ready next day. Another incident - they came to work on pool one day when we were not home and left message that the power to the outside electrical box was turned off so they could not work. Took another week for them to come back - the power to the box was not off - they had failed to connect the electrical line inside the box when they installed it. Promised to bring fill dirt back in to replace around the deck when it was finished, never brought and I finally just ordered a load of dirt so I could get my landscaping done. Pool failed final inspection because they did not put on a cover as required by code; took several weeks to get that in, and then several more weeks for them to come out and cut the cover to fit the pool... did not get the final inspection done until mid- <br /> September and we were not notified when that happened. I sent an email to check and got an email on 9/29 - 7 months after this started before we had a permit for the pool. Never fixed the in-floor cleaning system - still does not have proper pressure in the lines to clean, and have problem with cleaning heads staying in stuck open position. Have not been able to get them to remedy and this ended up being a wasted several thousand dollars. <br /> Loved their design work, and got lots of attention upfront; but once the construction started it was a horrible experience. <br />
Response from Olympus Pools
"We greatly appreciate your feedback and your high marks regarding price and quality. It can certainly be a challenge when having a pool built in conjunction with the home construction, especially while out of state. In the end, the pool is high quality, beautiful, we are hear to handle any issues that may come up. Several times during the build we stopped or changed our schedule while we waited for the home builder to get to the proper point so we could resume. We can understand how this can be frustrating, and it is for us as well. The dirt in the lines is common during the initial fire up and we apologize for the inconvenience. The pump reset itself to 8-10am, not the 8-8 we set it for because it received a power surge or reset at some point. We know this can be frustrating, especially when everyone is eager to use the new pool. We had extra fill set aside for the decking, it was removed by the home builders. Im sorry that we couldn't get more fill out there by the time you had scheduled your landscaping. The cover you are referring to is the plastic solar blanket that needs to be dropped on site for final inspection. The inspector signed off on all structural, plumbing, electrical and safety. We dropped off the blanket, and he signed off on the rest. For some advice on the in-floor system, remember it requires full flow from the pump. For some helpfful advice regarding the infloor system, simply set your valves to send all water to the in-floor when you want it the in-floor system to run. If you split the flow among the features, the heads won't function properly. I hope this helps and if you would like us to send a service technician to assist you, please let us know. If you need anything at all, please feel free to give us a call. Thank you again."

Our journey with Olympus Pools began after meeting with more then 6 other pool builders in the Tampa and Sarasota areas. The reason we chose Olympus Pools is, they were knowledgeable, professional, had competitive pricing, and they actually listened to our vision. In addition, we liked their website, mission statement, and other pools they had completed in our area. We met with Mike Cook, a salesman for Olympus Pools, at our house to discuss our ideals and vision. Mike listened, took measurements of our yard, copious notes, and scheduled another meeting with us a week later at their office in Tampa. This meeting was nothing short of impressive.  They had put our ideas together in a 3D presentation that visually showed us how the pool, spa and deck would look in our backyard. We appreciated how Mike and the owner James Staten collaborated with us as true professionals to finalize the details, materials and total cost of the project. From this point on it took approximately 2 weeks for the permits to get approved and the construction phase to begin. The layout, excavation, plumbing, steel, and gunite installation were all completed within 2 weeks and the grading, coping/tile installation, perimeter plumbing, forming/bonding of footers, delivery/installation of materials/pool equipment, electrical work, travertine layout, screen installation, application of interior, pool fill, and final cleaning of our yard were completed in 6 weeks. Although we weren't in any rush, Olympus Pool's exceeded our expectations by completing our backyard oasis within 8 weeks. We would like to note that all phases in the construction process were organized and scheduled by Ashley and Melissa, monitored/supervised by James, the owner, Brian, the construction manager, and other Olympians like Cody and Chris, and completed by sub-contractors that were friendly and communicative. The Olympians worked and communicated with us as a team and stopped by on a regular basis to inspect and make sure all phases of construction were completed up to standard and in a timely manner. We received regular emails about what was to be completed during the upcoming week and notified of any potential issues or delays. Additionally, we had contact via phone and text in case we had questions or concerns in the interim, which they promptly answered in most cases that very same day. One important thing that we learned as homeowner's having a pool built for the first time was that this is truly a construction project. There is much more involved in building a pool then we realized and as such we prepared and accepted that our yard would be in disarray during the entire process. We had to be patient and go through this process in order to get to the end result, which turned out amazing and all that we had envisioned! Thanks to all the Olympians at Olympus Pools for making the experience worry free and bringing our visions to reality! Cheers!! <br />
Response from Olympus Pools
"[Member name removed], Thank you so much for sharing your experience! In these times, happy customers very rarely take the time to sit down and share their positive experience with others so we cannot thank you enough for taking out the time to write this review. As you know, building a pool is a major project. Each pool involves major construction, schedules, weather, inspections, engineering and hundreds of people. Every client has different expectations of how they want things to go, and we are so happy to have met yours. We cannot express how grateful we are for you sharing your comments and feelings about our work in your review. Thank you, and if you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to give us a call."
