I initially gave this company a great rating. Things have changed. I have a piece of equipment (garage door opener) that does not work and when trying to get it repaired Omniguard does not answer phone calls or emails. I have called three times, left messages and sent emails to no avail. Today I spent time researching and found another security company that will do the same for $20 less a month. I am cancelling my service.

The installation was great. Highly professional. I had the service for 2 years. There was one time where a sensor stopped working and it was pretty hard to get someone to come out. My major complaint is that the monitoring service is outsourced to alarm center, a PA-based company. They are awful. I moved and tried to work through the cancellation process and there are multiple hoops to go through. I'd go so far to describe the process as predatory. In any case I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Just be careful when you go local - the back end is far from it.

Extremely professional and friendly all around. Chris worked within my budget and spent a lot of time with me talking through things and making sure I was comfortable. Dan was also extremely friendly and performed a clean and efficient installation and expert training on my new alarm system. Omniguard goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, safe and happy. Top notch service. I'm looking forward to using their product and like that I am able to support a local organization.

I've had security systems in our houses since ...forever. It's not that we are in a bad area, it's just nice to know it's being monitored while your away...fire, break-in, or pets are not loose running amuck. Historically we have been with a competitor, ADT. We were looking for a system we are able to check in on and make sure it's armed while we are away. Since we come and go so much and seem to be in a rush to get places, sometimes you can't recall if you set the alarm. When I called ADT to ask if our alarm was set, they replied "you don't pay us to monitor that". I felt like this was a very cold response. When I talked with a rep. about reconfiguring our plan it wasn't that far off financially from signing with Omniguard. In addition the sales person didn't actually know the products that were available to configure with out system. When I called in to speak to corporate about my account they indicated that the authorized dealers must have made a mistake and then the lady proceeded to tell me she doesn't like all of their authorized dealers...1. Not appropriate 2. Their whole gimmick is that their entire service from install to monitoring is ADT. 3. Obviously that's not a reason to sign up with them since their monitoring service literally cannot tell me anymore than my keypad...if even that much. They just had no real people that seemed to care about what I wanted...they wanted to put us in a box. Chris listened to what we wanted and why. He made suggestions where applicable and did everything he could to make things affordable for us. We couldn't sign up right away and he was so very patient with us. A few months later when we were ready to sign up he got us on the schedule and laid everything out so there were no surprises. Even the day of when I cancelled my other service and they threw all these charges on me, I had been told we were out of contract, he helped us figure out a way to cover some of them and still be able to proceed with Omniguard. Then Dan came out for install and was very efficient while taking the time to answer any of our questions. I feel Omniguard takes pride in the work they do and the employees seem to like their job. This is nice to see. They understand their product and if they are not sure about some random question I've asked, they find the answer. My husband and I did our homework and looked at a lot of options. We didn't go with Omniguard on a whim... they are the whole package. One of my favorite things about their service is there are real people ready and able to help at all times. Thanks Chris and Dan for making this so very easy!

I moved into a brand new development and had an opportunity to use OmniGuard free for three months to see if it was the alarm company that was right for me.  Both Chris and Will came out and explained the different options that were available.  I wanted a system that could record video versus still pictures.  I like being able to check on my home via a smart phone app.  I can even open and lock my front door with the smart phone app.  Recently, OmniGuard came out and installed the RING door bell.  I can answer my door bell when I am away from my home.  I am looking to install more security now on the outside of the home.  I had one problem with my control panel not working but OmniGuard was very quick to respond and correct the problem.  I highly recommend this company and it was definitely the right company for me. Chris and Will you are great representatives for OmniGuard! <br />

Initially, I was loathe to install a home security system, but there's enough low-level petty crime in my neighborhood to make me change my mind. You can buy systems and install them yourself, but I am not a DIY-er. Omniguard handles all the install and they're a local company. Plus I had them swap out some of our smoke detectors that always go off when we're cooking. These may also go off, but at least I can "hush" them with the control panel instead of standing on a chair trying to reach the hush button. Monthly cost is $49/mo. So far so good. I have set it off a few times by accident (opening a door after I armed the system), but it's easily disarmed. Also, these systems are mostly wireless now, so installation is less intrusive. <br />

I was out of town for a few weeks.  I told my housekeeper she need not stick to our scheduled time while I was gone and told her she could come anytime she wanted.  Yesterday morning (at 5:00 a.m.) she triggered the alarm. When the service rep from OmniGuard checked in on her she gave them my name -even though she's on my approved list and knows she should give her own name. Omniguard called, texted and emailed me. I called them back Immediately and actually got the same person who had communicated with my housekeeper. She said "I just talked to you." I told her she had not and asked her to dispatch police. She volunteered that the woman she communicated with claimed to be me and had a strong accent. I immediately realized it was my housekeeper so we didn't dispatch police. Not only did it save me the false alam fee from the police department but my housekeeper was spared the anxiety of the police showing up, which actually did happen while I had service with a competitor.  A big company would never have been able/willing to play detective with a customer. I bought the system because I liked the hardware.  The interface is similar to my iPhone and very intuitive.  Also, Will made a good first impression.  I liked and trusted him.  Since the service was installed several months ago he has called to check in a few times.  So, while it's nice to have a salesperson who keeps in touch AFTER the sale and a system that is easy to use and reliable, the real reason to install a security system is for the service.  Does it do what it is supposed to do?  The fact that Omniguard was able to quickly deduce that the alarm was false proved to me that they know what they're doing.  Oh, and you can set and disarm using your phone, which is a huge plus. <br />

I called Omniguard Security in mid December. I spoke with Eric who was able to come out the next day. He did a wonderful job of explaining the system and how it works. He answered every question I had and offered to get me more information on remote operation of lights, which he did. He was so wonderful to deal with and always got back to me in a timely manner. I filled out the paperwork to get my alarm system while Eric was here. He was able to arrange installation the next week. <br /> <br />Now for the install of my system. Dan came out and was absolutely great! He got the system put in very quickly and did a great job. He spent time showimg me how to get it set up and operate it remotely from my smart phone. I liked the remote deadbolt so much I had them come back and install a second one. Dan was an absolute pleasure to deal with also. I had minor issue with a piece of equipment and Dan got out right away and replaced it. <br /> <br />I really cannot say enough good about these two employees. I had a a system with another company and was treated so poorly after being a long time customer. I would tell anyone to be wary of a buying an alarm system from one of the large companies. They pull you in with a cheaper monthly rate and then provide poor service. My monthly monitoring fee is a little higher but it is so worth it. In general, I think they are good. I chose to use them and continue to use them because they gave a pretty good sales pitch. They are pretty smooth. Their technology I think is more modern than most of the competitors. I thought their equipment is great. They are the most expensive and I think that has to do with their technology being a little bit better than most. They are not cheap. The quality of their service is decent but not perfect. There are still some remaining issues that they have not been able to fix.

As we talked about several times prior to installing the system, the Linux box that you requested us to install is much more difficult to service and tends to have issues and needs more attention than the windows based servers that we put in. In the spirit of providing what our customer request, and against our recommendations, we provided you with the Linux based box that you wanted. At that time you stated that you were able to service the machine and would not require an assistance with it. Any issues that you are currently having are the same things that we typically found with those systems which is why we do not sell them unless required by a customer. If you would like to pursue replacing it with a Windows model I would be more than happy to work something out with you in order to improve the user experience. We value your business and aim to please in every interaction and look forward to continuing to work together."

Initially I was going to have a security system installed by my cell phone company - it sounded great and it seemed pretty efficient.  I don't have a land line so I wanted something that would interface with my cell phone.  After thinking about it, I decided  not to proceed because I knew I would be help captive by AT&T and what if I wanted to change cell phone companies?  I started doing some research and ended up on Angie's list.  I called 3 provided from Angie's and Omniguard was the most professional, prompt and easy to understand.  Will came out and walked through my house.  We decided where to put the sensors - what I didn't need right now - what we could add later etc.  He was very knowledgeable and understood my families concerns.  A few days later Mark came out and installed my system.  He was very neat too - vacuumed up anywhere he worked.  He also didn't mind my 6 month old yellow lab that kept sneaking away to bother him.   <br /> So far the system has worked great.  I even called them back to add a few features that originally we didn't go for.  I  highly recommend them. <br />

Was looking for alarm monitoring company after a neighbor went through an extensive home burglary.  OmniGuard came highly recommended to me by a coworker.  I wasn't interested in Comcast (not a fan) or any of the big national companies that I knew would not provide good customer service.  Omniguard is a locally-owned company in Lake Oswego. What a find!  Will was my salesperson who came out to do the quote, and I thought it was very fair.  He didn't try to upsell me on things I did not need.  They did the install the following weekend and spent a long time trying to locate the keypad in a place where I wanted it (old house...not possible).  The customer service since then has been incredible.  You might save a bit on the monthly monitoring with another company, but if you are looking for good installation and excellent customer service, call OmniGuard.  Check their web page for current promotions. <br />

I first contacted Omniguard looking for an alarm system. Will answered all my questions and concerns and came over to describe the products and what solutions would work best for us. Soon after, the installer Kieren came over and onstalled everything for us. We did run into a few issues, but Omniguard was willing to take the time and complete the installation without any extra fees. After the installation was complete, I got a complete tutorial on how to use the equiment and modify some of the settings. Amazing and Friendly Service! Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an alarm/home automation system.
