"We went to customers house with the understanding that it was $119 diagnostic fee and if customer went with the repair we would apply that to the repair cost. When we arrived we found the issue was a blower motor that was bad and it was under warranty. We offered the customer the repair cost $616 to install a new motor and the motor part would be covered under their warranty that we would process for him. We would go pick it up, install it. return the old part to the manufacturer and then waive the $119 so his total would have been $616. I followed up with the customer that afternoon and after he called me back stated he has someone that can do it for $240 and thought we were overcharging him, no additional work was done so no additional charges paid. Our service fees are all book driven so there's no overcharging or making up any prices and Price he was given is straight out of our fixed rates. I also explained that we are licensed certified and it would not impact any other warranty he has because we are certified to work on that unit. He decided to go with someone else Which I explained to him was his choice I also gave him the place to pick up the part and the location To try and help him out. At this point there was no overcharging or nothing done wrong and this is Common practice amongst all companies"
