I let this company go due to the constant pressure of getting a brand new system or some other things wrong that I would have had to take out a loan to pay them

Horrible! The agent lied right to my face about the cost of the replacement parts. Charged me $800 for 2 parts that are less than $30 online each. Told me I wouldn't be able to find these parts for less than $150 each. Complained with the owner who REFUSES to come down to a reasonable amount. I would NEVER hire these guys again. Their whole system is to take advantage whenever possible. BEWARE!!!!!

They were absolutely excellent. They didn't charge me anything up front, I only had to pay when they were completely finished. The technician, Robert Jiminez, was great. He showed me all the problems and talked me through everything. The salesman's name was Brian. He was very nice and professional. it was a pleasure working with all of them. I would definitely recommend them.

Although their annual service was presented as a good value, every time a representative came for the scheduled maintenance, they found other things to fix on a home about 5 years old. The most recent visit was made by a tech who was VERY young. He left dirty hand prints on the ceiling adjacent to upducts where he replaced filters. He had obviously been trained on looking for other repairs to suggest, which were different than those suggested by previous techs. <br />

Everything went well. The only thing I would do in the future is schedule for 1st thing in the morning, as he was here for 2+ hours. <br />

There was something that I had not set that I was supposed to set because quite frankly I cannot figure out which button to push. They reset it, and it had to do with cleaning the air. What it does is that it turns on the fan for fifteen minutes every hour regardless what the temperature is. Since then, I know that I have not had any difficulties inside the house as I had in the past because the air is cleaner. We are inside the house all day. It is an ongoing education. They did not charge us the last time because our air conditioner is under warranty. We used a company before them, and they installed an air conditioner that literally set itself on fire eight years after it had been installed because the wiring, which in those days was aluminum wires, was inadequate. The control box fuse melted. The thing is One Hour went through everything. They then gave me the name and telephone number of a licensed electrician in the State of California. This guy came out and did a separate analysis from One Hour’s. He immediately came into the conclusion that the wiring to the air conditioner was not the code. It was inadequate, and as a matter of fact, he said that we cannot connect to that, and we had to change it. He wrote me out a little flip that our house did not make code. I was stuck, but that was alright because I wanted it done right. One Hour knew that also, but they were not the people to convince me that it was true, and they were not going to put it down anyway because the wiring was inadequate the day the house was completed which was thirty years ago. They came out and told us things that we did not know.

They did a great job installing our new ac system. We choose the solar powered unit because of the low power bills. Everyone was very nice, the guys that came out and installed it were very concerned about doing a great job and they did a great job cleaning up. We are pleased! <br />

Work was performed promptly and professionally. Technicians were polite, professional and quick. The new systems work as promised. <br /> There was a problem with installation of new microfilter units and that took some time to correct. <br /> Additionally the permitting and inspection process required, that follows on from the new installation was slow to proceed. As of this writing, I still have not received the documentation required to request city permitting. - This is what is dragging down the score on punctuality. <br />
Response from Monarch Home Services
"Member, Thank you for your business and taking the time to review your experience working with One Hour! Once we pull your permit we are at the mercy of a third party duct testing firm. Unfortunately sometimes this takes a while if their schedule is backed up or they are behind getting us the reports. Your complete permit packet was mailed to you on December 14th so we will follow up with you to make sure you received it! You can expect a call from us tomorrow! Thanks again, Your One Hour Team!!"

<strong></strong> <strong>Watch out for potential SCAMMERS! </strong> <br /> We contracted them, through Costco, to do an annual cleaning/check of the HVAC systems. It started off well and on-time, with them donning floor-protecting booties as they entered the house. They informed us that the price would be higher than what was originally quoted if we had two furnaces (we had no idea) and that seemed reasonable. They went into the attic and came down with two heat exchangers and tested them with water for leaks. They both had leaks! They called the company in front of us to check if they were under warranty--NO, only 10-year warranty for the original owners and we were at year 12 (and not original owners). They showed us a picture of our rusted and overflowing A/C overflow pan. They looked at our condenser units on the side of the house and indicated that they were "so clogged and matted down" that they feared they would ruin them if they cleaned them (so they didn't). The heat exchanger is the most expensive part of the furnace so we might as well replace it. The A/C might not be fixable and we ought to replace all of them now to avoid costly ongoing repairs since we have two split units (furnace and A/C). <br /> The cost? $15K for two split unit 13 SEER A/C, 80% efficient furnace. <br /> The problem(s): the two HVAC companies that we had come out to do estimates for new systems both saw something odd. Company one was concerned that they used water as the first discovery of a leak. He said that it was done but is not ideal (water promotes corrosion and there are better ways to check for leaks). The second company, said it sounded very fishy because most heat exchangers have a 20 year warranty (some with life warranties) and the maker has a good record. The chance of two heat exchangers both going out at 12-years was exceedingly rare. What if they caused one or more of the leaks? He said that one of the A/C coils and the overflow pan did need to be replaced but the condenser units could easily be cleaned and he was going to double check the warranty and get back to us with an estimate for repair (as well as new units). Well they were under warranty! New cost for two new 14.5 SEER split systems would be $12K but repair would be only $2,900. I am so grateful for the critical thinking and scepticism of this third H/VAC company (reviewed separately). <br /> I waited until the repair was complete before posting this review (just to make sure the heat exchangers were really replaced by the manufacturer without additional cost and the condenser units were cleaned without damage). Everything is done now. The condensers that "could not be cleaned" for fear of damaging the units, were cleaned merely by hosing them off with my own garden hose! <br /> While it is possible that the original workers were "merely" grossly incompetent, my assumption is that this was a scam to get me to buy their overprices units. I'll let other readers decide for themselves based on the information I provided. I will be contacting the BBB and Costco. <br /> <br /> <br />

They are good. I would recommend them to others and would continue to use them in the future; in fact, they should be coming around anytime now.

We called One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning and they came right out and they were more than on time. We called them on a recommendation of our neighbour because we had decided that we were not going to call the one we were using. We had a unit that had failed completely but it had two years left in the guarantee. But unfortunately the guarantee was no good because it was not installed according to Code. It was out of guarantee the day it was installed eight years before. We had called the old company that installed the old unit several times and they would work on it and it came to a stage when we had to change the unit. We decided to go with One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning. They were so professional that they called a licensed electrician from a company that does the same kind of work and asked them to come out and inspect the installation of the former unit just to make sure that their guys had called it right. They came out and looked at it and I was there when they did their inspection. I asked them if they would install the air conditioner that was on here as I had the model number and all that. He said the wiring used was not Code. In fact he said it was way under wired. He wanted to know what happened to it. So I informed them that the pump had fused and he completed the sentence saying and the board caught fire. He then explained that it is typical of under gauge wiring. He told me that one cannot put in a new unit there unless the wiring that is there is replaced. Then they came up with an estimate what it would cost to install the unit to Code. They did not discover the bad wiring until after he started to install the equipment. They then completely rewired that part of the house and they did not add that to the bill. I asked them about that. Their reply to that was that they had agreed to do it to Code and since they had given me price for that, they were sticking with that and maybe we would call them back. As for price, I looked up that particular unit that we got. They sold it to us at less than the average price. Absolutely we will use them in the future. They gave me a list of three things I should do to avoid unnecessary calls or services. They are the only company we ever hired who advised us on that. They also called me back and reminded me of that, like don’t replace the filters every six months do it at least every three months. Again if you use the very high end filters you would damage the unit because it would pull too h****** the air that comes through the house. So use the cheapest filter. They also advised us to put a unit inside the duct work that would help sanitize the air that is running through the system. We noticed almost immediately after we started to use it, in a city where the night time temperatures were 95 and the air pollution here is pretty bad, that our eyes were not watering as much as they were, we did not have the respiratory problems that we had as long as we stayed inside the house. There is no reason to stay inside the house all the time nevertheless it is different than it was before. It was better and it is still is. That one change was $300 on the bill and that was all it was that helped us feel much better. Why didn’t someone else tell us about that? We are happy.
