Bob did a great job in replacing a small section of drywall in my laundry room. He arrived on time and the work was complete in about three hours. They cleaned up the area too. I would hire him again.

Walls and ceiling were completed correctly. However the basement stairway trim had many nicks and gouges. We had asked that this damage to the trim be repaired and then painted. The painter always said yes he understood but on more than a few occasions we pointed out nicks he had not spackled. The completed job was extremely disappointing as many of the nicks were still very visible. Also the tarp that was used was either paint soaked or allowed paint to be absorbed into the stairway carpet. I was so upset by the poor job that I just wanted the painter gone.

"[Member Name Removed] was selling the house In palos park she needed some one to come out and do touch ups and some painting right away. My painter started the job on a Monday. All the work we were to do was prep & paint ceiling & walls which some previous contractor did before us & got paint on everything which we were not responsible for. The base board throughout the basement was installed by some contractor that did a horrible job & they wanted us to resurface all the wood in stairway but it was not included in the original estimate our contract called for standard caulking & puttying, when my painter told them that we could do it but it would an additional price they said no it's okay we are moving anyway. So my painter finished project for them & they said they loved everything they were happy. But I guess they wanted us to work for free and we can not do that because we have families to take care of. This the first time I ever heard there was a problem & I was not contacted by homeowner to resolve any issues."

Everything went very well. From the beginning when I requested a quote to the completion of the work I needed done, Bob (the owner) and JR did everything to my complete satisfaction. Bob was prompt with his response to my estimate request and within 24 hours, I had a written estimate for the job. I felt Bob's estimate was good so I accepted it and we established a start date, duration of the job, and what exactly would be done. Bob even showed me some things that needed repair that I had missed. The job took 3 days. JR was always on time and was great. Bob also worked on the job all 3 days and was great as well. While both gentlemen were professional, friendly, courteous, and hard working, I was really impressed with their concern for keeping the job site clean from paint splatter and other debris. Everything, including the walls, were covered in plastic and drop cloths covered the floors. They moved furniture if necessary AND put it back! They were also very conscientious about cleaning up after finishing in each room. Even vacuuming when necessary! To sum it up, JOB WELL DONE! 100% satisfaction achieved! I will definitely use Orland Painting and Decorating Service again when the need arises. Thanks Bob & JR.

One of the guys did all the work. The other person was a helper. However, when I wanted to hire them to paint the patches, they wanted to charge me 65 /hr for each person.. outrageous hourly rate for a helper!

"the regular hourly rate is $55 per hour not $65. my helper is a journeyman painter. we are fully covered with liability insurance, workmens compensation insurance.fully insured for customers protection."

The painters showed up at the time we agreed upon. There was more plastering needed then originally thought but it was fixed at no additional charge. Everything was left neat and clean. We will be using them again for future projects.

Work took awhile to schedule but that was ok with me. I had some water damage that ended up being mainly paint issue and not plaster, but the workman scraped and skimmed the area which is curved and tricky to get right. He did a great job and cleaned up well after himself.

"i called [Member Name Removed] to schedule, he wanted us to tape his garage & tape drywall in his kitchen where water damage had occurred for $109 i told him it would take a lot longer than the 4hour special. it would hav taken 16 hrs. he never called back to schedule."

did not say he had helper for that price so it was actually only 2 hours work. took 4 hours charged me an extra $220.00

"yes 2 painters for 2 hours is a total 4 man hrs as stated on special. then we stayed a additional 4 man hours at regular price as directed by home owner. it is easier and more productive if you have two people especially ripping out drywall in ceiling and reframing to piece in drywall to save customer money by not ripping out half a garage ceiling as home owner orginally wanted but we said we could save him money by piecing it in and we did."

It was okay. I had to come behind and do some finish work. I did take into consideration he only had four hours to do it so it was a limited amount of time. Typically when you are doing drywall work it's a multi step process, so I had to do some finish work. It was fair, considering the time constraint he had, he did the best he could. It was a good price. Considering all of the extenuating factors, I'd give the quality a "C". He came in and did what he had to do, and split. He did the best he could with the time available. He was there on time. I had to do some sanding and such to prepare the wall for finishing. What he did in four hours would have normally been a two day process. If you are drywall and taping, it's really a three day process. You have to put the first coat on and then you have to come back. It wasn't his fault, but I'm being honest, and I still had to come behind him and do some finish up work. He could've smoothed the seams up a little better, but for $197 I got what I paid for. I am kind of a handy man, but I just didn't feel like doing it.

"homeowner hung drywall himself was impossible to make it look good in 4hrs, would have to rip out drywall or skim out all walls completely to make it look good and homeowner was unwilling to do either. Made it look the best possible in the time allowed."

Beautifully. Found Orland Painting & Decorating, LLC. via Angie's special deal for drywall patching. I knew the Angie's deal would not cover all the time needed for the drywall repairs; would be just a start. After meeting with owner Bob Kwak, decided I'd have him give a bid for both the drywall repairs & then painting with the deal's cost credited into the bid. Reviewed his bid against two others and went w him based on his reviews and his thorough presentation of the work needed, how he'd do the job and my 'gut' opinion of him. I had many questions and he took the time to explain everything fully. He estimated project at 2 work weeks. He started as scheduled on 8am on M of week one and finished on TH of week 2. Bob was there @ day, all work day usually 8-4, w his assistant, JR. Worked 2 adjacent rooms, sealing off w plastic sheeting the work rooms from others. Fixture draping. Furniture draping & moving & return in @ room. Nice clean-up in @ room. Worked hard, well and respectfully. Happily went the extra mile; i.e., when I'd had new ideas for color and when I asked for some furniture re-positioning. I've worked w many home trades people on different projects in my 10 years in this new house. None were more professional, helpful, efficient and just good people than Orland Painting & Decorating, LLC's Bob Kwak and his JR. Well-deserved A ratings all-around.

The work on the repair was very expertly done; however, they neglected by oversight to smooth a textured interior surface on each end of the window well leaving two different surfaces which I will have to address later.
