They did a great job.

Two electricians arrived to do the work. After hanging the first TV, someone from the office called to inform me that since 2 electricians were on the job, instead of it being $99 for 2 hours it was actually $99 for 1 hour (with 2 electricians ). If I wanted them to stay and hang my other TV, it would be an additional amount. I wanted my TV hung, so I agreed. The electricians spent another hour talking about how to hang the TV instead of actually hanging it. They measured and knocked a hole in my wall to test for the stud but nothing was ever hung. I am thoroughly disappointed. I NEVER booked 2 electricians to come. I had someone there to help lift the TV. And the fact that it required 2 electricians to hang a 65" TV baffles me because even that was done incorrectly. Instead of adjusting the position of the mounting bracket arms to lower the TV, they placed my TV within 3 inches of the ceiling!

Did a great job

I didn't pay any extra for the electrical part. We already had the fixture, we just needed him to take the old one down and put the new one in. It worked out very well. I was very happy with it. It was easy to schedule with them. We called, and we got an answering machine. They were prompt in calling us back to schedule the work.  <br /> <br /> When we paid them, we used a credit card. There was a problem in terms of not being set up to accept the card. It took an effort to give them their money. It might sound like a complaint. You should be prepared, if you accept credit cards, to be prepared to accept them.  <br /> <br /> Our kitchen ceiling was damaged with water leaks. They took off the old plaster and put in a section of the ceiling. After they replaced the plaster, they painted it before they installed the light fixture. They ended up painting the entire kitchen. They did it all in one day.  <br /> <br /> I didn't have a comparison, but I thought the price they gave was fair.

The worker arrived on time a was courteous, but I was not impressed with the quality of service. I had been having problems with a light fixture, but when the worker tried it worked perfectly and I haven't had any problems since. I also asked him to check an outdoor outlet that had one plug that didn't work. He tested it and said both plugs had power. This is an outdoor outlet so I didn't use it again until spring, at which time I found the one plug still does not work. I asked him to check a second exterior outlet. The pool company had noted there was a problem with the outlet but hadn't specified what it was. The electrician checked the plug and said everything was fine, but when the pool was opened in the spring the pool company again noted a problem with the outlet, this time specifying that the GFI would not trip and needed to be replaced. It seems like this is something an electrician should have noticed.

An electrician from Ortega Contractor came to my home (Feb 9) within a few days of receiving my response from the Angie's List offer. The man determined that the wall switch was not installed correctly when the fan/light was first installed years ago by the previous owner. He and went to the local Lowes together to find a new switch. The switch I bought ended up not being compatible with the existing wiring. From Lowes, the man called his boss and both men tried to figure out the problem. I showed them a wall switch in another bedroom of my house that had the same ceiling fan/light. The owner then said he would find the same type of switch, order it and come back to install it at no additional charge to me when they received it. On February 23 I contacted Ortega by email to get a status on the new switch. Ortega replied to my email on February 24 with this message: "We are still waiting for it to arrive. They said it would take 3-4weeks". On May 5, I sent Ortega an email asking for an update since it had been 2 months since I first had contact with them. I did not receive ANY response from Ortega. I sent another email to Ortego on May 24 and once again no response. I sent yet another email to Ortega on July 5 to Ms. Karen Flores. SEE FOLLOWING: Ms. Karen Flores, Please respond to my inquiry as to when you will finish the work of installing a switch you had ordered this past spring to be installed in my 4th level room to control the combined ceiling fan and light. I have had NO RESPONSE.

Terrible. I was not notified that they would would be making a large hole in my wall, and would have to contract another provider to have the drywall fixed. After calling the company numerous times, the owner came out to repair the drywall. The owner was rude and told me "you know, this isn't part of the service you purchased."

I had a long list and they moved through it very quickly. Quick, with good workmanship. I'm very happy with what they did on two separate jobs.

The representative Anthony was great. He came in assessed the problems and was quick, thorough, cleaned up after the job. diligent, cooperative, and knowledgeable. It was a great service.
