It went extremely well. The company representative was easy to work with, and the crew was very competent. Moreover, the company was very flexible in working with us to make sure we got the service we needed in a timely manner.

Oswego Roofing did a great job on our roof. They were great in working around crazy weather and still completing it in a timely manner.

They did a great job. They came in and they had a good pricing. They were courteous, polite and on time. They got the job on time and were very pleased with the service.

Our roof was removed. Three-plus weeks have gone by. Oswego Roofing appears to be unwilling to pay for a trucking company to bring the shingles from Los Angeles, even though they are less expensive that the shingles bid. Unresponsive. Owner is out of contact for 11 days by any means. Totally unresponsive. And we paid them half of the money due up front.

Work was a joke, couldn't get any info out of the workers so called the owner who cursed at me and called me a complainer. Called me things I can not publish!! He should be put out of business, not just written up on Angies list!! I would recommend that everyone stay as far away from this company, and all he owns!!
All info in this review can be verified by the buyers, sellers, agents and other multiple witnesses.
TERRIBLE customer service
TERRIBLE workmanship
TERRIBLE follow through
TERRIBLE communication
TERRIBLE management
TERRIBLE accountability
TERRIBLE commitment
TERRIBLE business
This review is after dozens of phone calls, a still uncompleted roof that was paid for by the sellers before we closed in October, and the worst customer service imaginable from a "family" business.
Oswego Roofing was the fill in for an overbooked roofer. It was a job that needed to be completed before the sale of the house could close. Oswego committed to the sellers that they could do it. There were numerous no-call no-shows and terrible communication. The close of the house was delayed due to this, causing terrible stress on the buyers, who were waiting to close on their new house. After we moved in, we found that the work was not completed. There was an entire ridge without shingles and the paper showing. The flashing around the chimney was a mess, and there was a downspout that was connected to nothing. I called them when I discovered this, and I was offered nothing but a run around. The excuses I heard included "we must have run out of product" and "no, it's done." When I tried to explain the issues with the roof and their service, a different "manager" could only say "I'm not going to argue with you."
After many phone calls, a "foreman" came out to "finish." He did the bare spot on the roof, and then slipped away without doing the rest, nor checking in with us. That was 2 weeks ago. Many more calls from the agent, the "manager" was supposed to come by yesterday at 4pm. No call no show again. He later told my agent (with attitude) that it was dark, so he didn't come by. Today, he finally shows, and gives my wife a hard time, and claims she doesn't know what she is talking about. She tells him to back up and look up at the missing rain deflector. He then DEMANDS that she show proof it was there. Nothing but rude to a pregnant homeowner. She never even got the chance to show him the shingles, old and new, strewn about our yard.
I will rather pay a different roofer for the repairs, and hope I NEVER have to use the warrantee on the roof.
NO response from Oswego's owner or manager. Maybe they don't need the business.
They completed the work in a day and we have a two story 2200sf house with 3 car garage. They forgot to remove the skylight as we requested but came back the next day and did that and patched in the hole.
Joe at Oswego Roofing is a good guy and has been in the business forevor. He cautioned me to watch out for all the extra items that other roofers wanted to thrown in that would potentially increase the price of the job. He quoted me exactly what he charged, but when I asked him for counsel on our soffit level (intake) vents, he insisted they were adequate. I told him that every other roofer wanted to add more, but he insisted they were adequate.
I did select him because I knew of at least 10 satisfied customers on my street, and the price was 7000 less than the highest bidder, and 1000 higher than the lowest bidder. The job went well overall. They were in and out in 3 days. They even custom ordered a wrap for our plumbing pipe vent (this airs the sewage gases) because it wasn't standard.
Just a few bad things happened:
1. A plant in the back was covered with a tarp directly in the sun, causing it to burn. It was a very healthy older bush, so I'm disapointed it's now just a mangled thing. I pointed it out to them, but no compensation was offered.
2. They installed safety rings at my request, but when the job was nearly done, I noticed they were unpainted, and really stood out. When I asked Joe to have them painted, he argued with me that I should've asked for that before the safety equipment had been removed. I feel incredulous that he would argue with me about it since I'm not a roofer and never could've foreseen the need to have these things painted. I get the feeling that it's very rare for them to leave permanent safety rings. This is something the other roofers automatically included in the bid because they allow for safe access to this highly pitched roof, and roofs do need to be cleaned every 6 -12 months. The installer did paint the rings for me and it wasn't such a big deal.
3. The "in"adequate soffit level vents came back to bite us. Joe came to inspect and realized they woudln't be inadequate. He will be coming back to bid on them, but they are much more difficult to add after the roof has been installed.
Overally, the roof looks great, but those lower vents will be a problem if we don't correct them soon, which may be quite an expensive proposition

Contacted the company on 9/17 to get estimate on the job. Mike came out on the 22nd and provided us with a bid. The company was referred to us by another Angie's list member whom we had contacted for a bid but was unable to do the job because of roof pitch. Work was performed a week later by a single crew person. Although I had been told by Mike to remove and or cover items, e.g., flowers etc from around the house, I wasn't thinking and forgot to cover the patio furniture on the deck. I was horrified to see all the stuff that had been washed off the roof and had resigned myself to having to replace my chair cushions. To my surprise and delight the person was able to clean all of the debris off the furniture and let both furniture and deck clean. We had our hard wood floor replaced last year due to a leak that came into our house underneath our flooring. Naturally we were concerned about the cleaning of the deck and I talked with the young man doing the work, explained the situation and asked that he not point the power washer toward the house when cleaning the deck because we did not want to have any potential problems with a repeat of last year. Well, he didn't use the power washer but a blower instead which was a great relief and as I stated earlier was able to not only clean the deck well but the patio furniture also. Roof looks great and he did an excellent job of cleaning up after himself. Also, would like to recognize the great customer service provided by Crystal in the front office. We would recommend to others.

The roof and patio were cleaned off and a zinc powder was applied to the roof. The workman was quick and efficient with his time (4 hours total). It surprised me he had no ground assistance. The Roof and patio surfaces were cleaned well. The plastic corrugated roof for the back porch was not cleaned or blown off. The man doing the work had no tools to do the job other than his pressure washer and rightly didn't want to damage it. We had difficulty with language in discussing alternative methods of cleaning the plastic. I called the office and a gentleman from the office came quickly to look over the problem. He listened to my suggestions but appeared not to have any authorization to do anything. He left saying he would have the estimator Mike Crase call me.. After two days the bill for the job came but no return phone call. I wrote the estimator Mike an email describing the problem and suggesting a method (step ladder and broom) and asked him to call me. After a week I made another call and left a message. When Mike did call back he acted like he was very busy and just couldn't find the time to call back and had IT problems with their website. He attempted to fabricate a story about discussing it with me during the estimate but I reminded him we had not met. He did get someone to return to finish cleaning the porch roof. I was disappointed with the follow up after the man from the office came. Also after the ground around the house dried it was evident that the clean up on the ground was primarily the use of the yard blower to blow the moss into the shrubs. This is where a man with a rake and scoop shovel would of been useful. It is hard to justify paying $125 an hour for roof cleaning unless the job is done right which includes the clean up.

Generally it went well-quite well. The basic roof work took place when scheduled and the crew was EXTREMELY HARD WORKING AND QUALITY FOCUSED. This took place last September, essentially five months ago. Overall with respect to the primary roof replacement, I would rate this company an A...BUT...first the new sunroof they ordered was not the right opening configuration. I paid the final amount before the right configuration was installed, and it took many additional weeks for the right configuration to be installed. MORE IMPORTANTLY, with the first season rain, I called with a question on how the water was feeding into my gutters, and I was told someone would check this out. IT TOOK MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS AND ALMOST FIVE MONTHS BEFORE THIS WAS FINALLY CHECKED OUT (ultimately with no problem) AND IT WAS ONLY CHECKED OUT WHEN I SAID I WAS ABOUT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE CCB. Thus my ratings on responsiveness and punctuality were an A for the actual roof installation and a D on responsiveness for issues after the roof was installed and I made my final payment. Overall because of these follow-up issues I rated professionalism a B since the basic roof installation was an A. Recommendation: don't give a final payment to this company until you are absolutely sure everything is completed and totally works. If they don't respond quickly to subsequent issues

I called 2 companies from Angie's List. One had a bid of $1,400, and this company's bid was $467. Both were written bids and the estimators were here when I was away from the home. I called Oswego Roofing, the estimator Mike Crase, and said I was interested. I then mentioned the Angie's List coupon, and asked waht the price would be. He then said he wished I'd mentioned the coupon when I orogonally called, because the bid he gave me was a low one because it's so close to the bad weather season. I took this to mean that if I had mentioned the coupn earlier, he would have raised the bid price, and THEN lowered it by honoring the coupon. I needed the work done, so didn't say anything, and just agreed to the quoted bid price. I'm satisfied with the quality of the work, which is why I said I'd use them again.

Our roof was at the end of its life. Oswego Roof took a few days to respond initially, but came onsite for a free bid and provided a no-BS bid. When I followed up with a question on the quote, Mike worked with me and answered all questions. The crew started the day after I signed the contract, and worked quickly, yet professionally. They replaced roof decking, added vents, and noted that the existing skylight window did not fit well.

Shawn (the estimator) was prompt when coming to look at the roof for an estimate. They got back to us within a couple of days with an estimate for two different types of shingles. We decided we wanted to see what some of the colors of shingles would look like on an actual roof and they provided us with various houses in the area that we could look at. Once we decided on the color, we had to wait for a break in the weather. Our roof is three stories off the ground in some areas and they wanted to wait until we had some sunny weather (very understandable considering our roof). There was a break at the beginning of April and they jumped right on it and worked over the weekend to get it done. The crew worked hard, long days that weekend, I was impressed. They cleaned up some each day and kept it fairly neat. My only complaint was some tulips in a planter box on a deck got snapped off and there is a little debris still scattered around in the front of the house where it is hard to reach (we have a very steep front yard). Also, not sure if they cleaned the gutters as they said they would, although we do have LeafGuard gutters and they may not have known what to do with those. All and all, a good experience and we would use them again.

We had gotten four bids from different companies in the area, but Oswego offered a better deal. They pitched a good sale and have provided good service in the area before. The rental property is my mother's home and she felt the most comfortable with Oswego. The payment was very easy to take care of. We were able to make the payment with a credit card over the phone. Their website also offered a good selection to look at and choose from.

They arrived on the first day and did a section of the roof from start to finish, continued on the next day and finished about midway through the third day, working in sections so that the rain that was falling wouldn't damage the house itself. Then they cleaned up their debris.

They were able to be on site within a week of our accepting their estimate. They worked very efficiently with very little debris from the previous roof going anywhere other than the dump truck provided. The crew was well prepared and worked safely on a very steep roof. They worked in every kind of Oregon spring weather you can imagine and still finished on time. There were no hidden or additional unexpected costs and the finish product was better than hoped.

We purchased a new home and had to have the 20 year old cedar shake roof replaced. Our Realtor recommended them and we did some due diligence with the state and found that they had zero complaints (past or current) or settlements against them. It was short notice and Mike and Pete at Oswego roof worked with our Realtor to get the roof replaced before we closed. They started the day after Christmas and finished in three days during on and off rain. We purchased the best/thickest cedar shake available and when compared to another estimate, the price was very reasonable. We weren't at our new home, but as far as we could tell they showed up on time and when we drove by it looked like they worked until dark each day to complete the job. The men were very friendly and we never saw them idle. They completed the job on time. On completion they cleaned up all of the debris, power washed around the house and the gutters and ensured everything was as tidy as when they arrived.

Oswego Roof did an excellent job. Our biggest concerns were 1) getting the best roof, with the best install, at the best price (not necessarily the lowest price). After getting five bids from five different roofing companies in our area, we selected Oswego Roof because of 1) their clear, concise and honest communications, 2) their examples of past work we were able to view in our area, 3) their good past record w/ Angie's List and the Oregon Contractor's Board, 4) their fair price for the job. They were also only one of two companies that we felt were not attempting to use "dynamic pricing" based on our zip code and perceived ability to pay, to over-charge us. I expressed my concerns that the job be done safely (we have a steep roof), that it be done well, and with care for our mature landscaping and careful cleanup when the job was completed. Oswego Roof addressed all our concerns and exceeded our expectations. We now have a beautiful new roof.
