This was our second job with Outdoor Xcapes. 1st one in 2011 with Bret as our Salesman. Went fairly smoother with only a few glitches. This job consisted of a seat wall with small patio, step pads and artificial turf with Steve as our Salesman. Steve was very nice and eager to please during the bidding process. Very responsive to phone calls during the job. However, as the job progressed It was apparent that while it was important to Steve that the job was done correctly there was no give or take on money. At a Home Show an Outdoor Xscapes representative (not Steve) told us that repeat customers would get a discount. Steve would not honor that discount until it was to his advantage. There was a hole in their work schedule and they needed a job to fill it. At that point a discount was offered. The tree we wanted was 20% off, Steve would not give or share the shavings. Didn’t seem like there was any interest in building any relationship for return business or referrals. Crew did a great job including clean-up. Jesse, the foreman, was pleasant to work with. However, he was the only one who spoke English and stayed on the job for only a short time. Any communication had to be done by phone to Steve who would contact Jesse. It was a little cumbersome to communicate. We are very happy with the concrete seat wall and step pads. There were a few hiccups during the process, nothing major. The turf was not acceptable. It had discoloration, lines about every 10” and two visible seams. Megan was our contact for warranty issues. She was very responsive and easy to work with. I had to work directly with the representative for the turf which was Synthetic Grass. It took six weeks but the grass was replaced and installed by Outdoor Xscapes at no cost to us. Adam was in charge of the installation and worked with us to make it right. In hind sight my husband and I were too complacent in going with the same landscaping company. We assumed they would treat us right because we were a return customer. Because of this we didn’t get any other bids and when it became obvious that there was no loyalty to a return customer felt it was too late in the process to start over. It was a mistake. Outdoor Xcapes as a whole, is a good company and gets the job done quickly. Be sure to negotiate payment terms and dollars up front.

Steve was amazing from start to finish. They worked fast and did great work. We love our backyard and would recommend them to anyone that needs landscaping done. We did our home work going to home and garden shows, we had four different landscape companies come over and show us their plan and we went with Steve's plan because he really listened to us and gave us everything we wanted. Also the price quoted was what we paid!!!

Great! This experience could not have gone better. Joel, my salesperson, was extremely responsive through the entire process and he delivered exactly what he promised. The crew was fantastic - they showed up when they said they would, they worked hard, they were friendly and they finished the project ahead of schedule. I would recommend this company to anyone!

I hired Outdoor Xscapes to redesign my backyard and Pool. They did a Great Job and they were so professional and efficient.The whole job was done just like I had envisioned and the results were Perfect.this is a great company to work with! I I was so Happy with their work. To say I recommend them seems like a small Statement, they should be hired for everyone's outdoor designing needs!

Me and my mom went to one of their homeshows so we can find someone who can remodel our pool and backyard and we happened to stop by their booth. One of the sales man (Joel), gave us his business card and we signed up for the free estimate. The project took some time but the outcome was amazing! Our backyard looks like a resort and we can't wait for summer so we can have our famous family BBQ. I recommend anyone who wants to go into business with them. It's all worth it!

I was debating between two different landscape companies, and chose Outdoor Xscapes because they were a one stop shop! They had everything organized. Our pool is an oasis. Joel was my sales person and he was always checking on me and was at my job often. I highly recommend them!

Excellent! Steve was very professional; he listened to what I wanted, and when he came back with the design, he nailed it!!! It was so beautiful. We then had to wait to get the money, and he was very patient with us. He never rushed us or lost interest because we were taking to long. After six months we needed to tweak the design a little to cut a few costs, but I have to say there was nothing lost in the design except the cost; we finally agreed to the work on a Friday and they started that following Monday. The team of workers were professional, cleanly, and FAST! They took my yard from dirt to retreat in 8 working days!!! They were amazing, and everyone who sees our yard is extremely impressed! I would highly recommend Outdoor Escapes for beautiful design and professional installation. After the job was completed, we had a small punch list of items to take care of, and Steve and his crew were on it right away! Also, I want to mention, I had several other companies look at the design and either wanted to cut corners, change the design to a lesser quality, or never got back to me at all. I wanted a model home back yard, and that is what I got! It was a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for! I wouldn't change a thing!!! I'm sure they can work within any price point, I just want what I want!

We contracted Outdoor X-Scapes for a new pool build, plus landscaping in the back and front yards of our home. Our designer created a beautiful design for us and within our budget. We were so excited to start our dream backyard. After we made our initial deposits, things seems to start quickly. Within a few weeks the construction on our pool began. In the end of October the excavation was completed and the rebar and installation of the plumbing and electrical began. Little did we know, we didn't fully pass our 1st inspection because the conduit for the wiring was not to code with the cities requirements. We were not home at the time of the inspection and were not aware of this. The company apparently missed it as well. The shotcrete was installed around Thanksgiving. Our designer called us shortly after and advises us that he "forgot" to write the pool cooping in the contract! He tells me that we have to do a change order and not to worry, because while we have to pay for it, he is going to pay us back from his commission. Yes this man promised to give us our money back basically out of his paycheck. Okay, I say, everyone makes mistakes and I don't get angry or upset with him. I agree to the change order. After the shotcrete, our pool tile was installed. Unfortunately we were not home the day it was installed and when we got home we were surprised to see that it was not what we had picked out. Why? Our designer had told us to pick "any 6x6 tile" from the National Pool Tile website. So we did. We provided him the information and thought that's what were getting. Nope! Apparently the tile we chose was an upgraded tile. Instead of contacting us and letting us know and offer us the option to choose something else or pay for the upgrade, he thought he would pick something close for us. We chose a teal and sand colored tile, because we wanted a more beach or tropical feel... We got ROYAL BLUE. Not only did he pick it for us, he lied to us about it, until we confronted him face to face and he finally admitted he was afraid to call us! So now we have this royal blue tile that we don't really like but he says to make up for this mistake, he's going to give us an upgraded pool interior at no additional cost to us. We agree. Next they showed up to install our landscaping with a two hour notice! I was already at work, and could not return home. I was surprised because when we signed our contract, he advised us that we would be able to go to the local nursery and pick out our plants and tree before the landscaping install. That NEVER happened. As a matter of fact, he chose our landscaping for us too! What a thoughtful guy! No, incredibly rude and unthoughtful. We have an HOA and only a selective few plants are permitted in the front. He picked a cactus for us, and we have a small child. So clearly this guy has not listened or learned anything about our family after his many trips to our home. I thought, well at least he did listen when I said no palm trees, but we were still shocked that he never consulted us on our plants. I decided be nice and not rip him to shreds over it. So now it's time for final inspection on the pool and guess what, when the inspector returned - we failed. We failed for several reasons. Part was due to things we didn't do and part was because of the electrical wiring conduit not being up to code. As a homeowner we failed because we were not advised by our builder what was and wasn't allowed per the city code. Although if you ask our designer, he gave us a packet with information. He did not. He actually has never given us anything, no packet about safety and city code, no owners manuals... NOT A **** THING. So we find out that because we don't have a pool fence, we need door alarms and we can not have a pet door as it is considered direct access to the pool. So our designer tells us to go down to the Home Depot and get door alarms. Simple enough, right? So we thought. We were lucky enough to still have our original back door (not sliding glass) from when the house was built, so we put it back on and that solved the pet door problem. So we tell our designer that we have addressed all of the homeowner issues. He says they have fixed the conduit issue. We call for another inspection. WE FAIL AGAIN. The Home Depot door alarms are not up to city code either! And surprise the conduit is not up to code still. It is supposed to be 12 - 18 inches deep... it was 1. 1 freaking inch deep. So we remove the door alarms, and head over to the local pool supply shop and buy their door alarms at 3 times the price we paid at Home Depot. Our builder called the inspector to determine exactly what the "issue" is. He advises that the spot behind our pool step is the problem and the conduit should be 12 - 18 inches deep but can be 6 inches if they cover it with 2 inches of concrete. Our designer texts me and says they are just going to cover it with concrete and pavers. I immediately say no! I am not okay with that. I then called the city inspector myself and got the details on city code from him directly. The following day I call the office and speak to the Operations Manager and unload on her about all of the issues I have told you about above. She has no clue any of the tile fiasco, the upgrade promise, the landscaping or any of our frustrations have occurred. She tells me that she is going to have the owner call me directly. He does. He was very surprised himself to find out his designer made all of my choices for me. He too seemed really upset and assured me that we would be in code and that he would honor all of the promises our designer had made to us. The following week, no one shows up to work on the pool. I call the next week and they advise that the electrician said he had fixed the conduit. I say that's weird because it doesn't look like anyone has been here. They call for another inspection. This time the original spot has been corrected, but just a few feet to the left, he finds that again the conduit is only an inch deep. So again we fail for this reason. So I call the owner directly to deliver the news. He again is very apologetic and says he's going to get it taken care of. This goes on for a few weeks to the point where the owner and I are texting and talking regularly and are on a first name basis. The sub contractor that was used would lie to him and say he had corrected when he had never been to our house. I am now working from home daily, so I know when someone comes and goes and he never came on several promised times. Finally one of the superintendents comes to the house and digs the trench for the **** sub contractor!! He digs out more than 12 inches so that the **** sub can do his **** job the right way! He finally shows up after the owner making several calls and gets the conduit down. It only took us 5, yes 5 freaking times to pass inspection. So finally everyone is happy that we can move forward and finish this job... by the way it's now February. The interior upgrade we were promised was installed and they filled our pool. Another sub comes and acid washes the pool and dumps soda ash in it... and no one has been back since. I have been researching a proper startup and I don't think that was done. I have no clue how to program my pool pump, because well I don't have a user manual. The entire experience with this company was awful. While I do appreciate the owner personally addressing all of my issues and concerns, it never should have had to go that far. The designer is a bold faced liar and I am sorry to say that while he did give us a beautiful design, I can never in good conscience recommend this company to anyone and shocker, he never paid us back for the cooping like he promised. What a piece of work this guy is. Long miserable story short, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. They have terrible communication with you. They do not tell you in advance of when they will at your home working. On each occasion the designer either didn’t tell me that we’d have people at our home or would text me an hour before hand. This is the second review we write for the Outdoor Xscapes guys. We used Outdoor Xscapes a couple years ago for our first initial project (some basic landscaping with pavers, travertine, lawn, etc), and we contacted them for a second round a few weeks ago, this time to build a bbq, fireplace, and a couple walls. Steve has been our designer for both projects and we could not be happier. The whole process went really smooth, the guys did a great job (the crew was really nice and super clean, and made sure that when they were done they wash the backyard area where they were working at), and completed he project to our desire. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Outdoor Xscapes to anyone looking for a great landscaper. Thank you guys!!

Not often is service delivered perfectly so I need to call out Steve at Outdoor Xscapes. Every step of the process was perfect. From the initial discussion he was open and transparent about what would be functional, look best, and pricing. Once he had the map and design, he shared an itemized list of what he recommended, and if we removed anything to stay within our budget, there was no pushback or shady pricing changes. When it came time for the work to be done his team was professional and fast. Our entire backyard was transformed from desert to lush plants and grass within 4 days. As we had questions later on care Steve was always quick to answer and even stop by a few times. He was recommended by our best friends down the street for the very same reasons. We would highly recommend him. Great guy, great work.

I found Outdoor Xscapes at the Home & Landscape show last September. From the first time Steve M. came to my home he was nothing but punctual, professional and helpful. He listened to what I wanted to accomplish and was able to translate that to a plan. Even after several revisions and the decision to wait until after the holidays to begin the work, there was never any pressure from him. The work started on January 16th. The crew they sent was amazing, there were at least 12 workers the first & second days. In the course of 4 days they removed a 40x10 concrete patio, removed 1400 sf of grass, built a 3ft masonry wall, two 25 ft planters, 70 ft of stucco seat wall, laid 1700 sf of pavers, bulit a fire pit and installed the propane tank, topped all the walls with Travertine caps, planted 12 shrubs,and installed a drip system and low voltage lights. I can't say enough about Jorge, Carlos, Pablo and the rest of the crew. Any time I had a question or concern they were able to address it. Steve called every day to check in with me to make sure I was happy. If you want a great company to do landscaping, Outdoor Xcapes should be your first call.

The crew showed up on time and worked all day and completed the job by the end of the day. They cam back 2 days later to answer some questions and make small adjustments to the property. We love this company!

I had an amazing experience with Outdoor XScape, Joel Moreno was out contact and was great! They were clean, high quality work and finished ahead of schedule. They for sure were not the cheapest quote we got but we wanted quality work and they delivered that! Would highly recommend them, very professional!

My husband and I just bought a house. We called Outdoor Xscapes and they were able to come out the following day. A gentleman named Joel came out. We told Joel our general ideas of what we were wanting. He came back 3 weeks later and give us way more than we expected. Their design went above and beyond anything else I had received from any other companies. We did major overhaul on our pool that started with an antiquated chlorine system that was installed in the 70's. We converted to a salt water-state and redid everything except the shape and the basic structure. Our pool was completely transformed from something I really didn't like to something that I absolutely loved. Joel really knew his stuff and how to make everything look beautiful. Joel was in contact with me daily regarding the progress. He wanted to make sure that we were completely happy with the pool and landscape all song the way and he appreciated our business. It's nice to work with people who recognize that you have a choice with regards to whom you do business and work hard to retain your future business. All of the guys working on the crews from removing coping and plaster to pebbleteching the bottom were professional, courteous, and respectful. The guys all took a lot of pride in their work. There were a couple unforeseen items that came up early on in the project. Joel was able to address them quickly and knew exactly what needed to be done to fix them. He was very fair with his pricing for the additional work. He was able to explain what had happened and what needed to be done in order to ensure that our pool would last for the next 20-30 years. Our yard and pool is absolutely gorgeous and we've been outside enjoying it ever since it was finished. We're looking forward to many more lazy days. It's awesome to have such a beautiful place in my own backyard.

This was originally written in September but posted to the wrong account.  Subsequently, one of the trees we saved, which I was told was an orange tree, ended up being a grapefruit tree.  So now I need to purchase another orange tree (which we apparently removed in the process.) <br /> This is difficult to write, because I'm am very happy with final product.  But I got frustrated with the lack of good communication.  This was an issue I addressed with Bret upfront, because I had experienced it somewhat during the design process and then read about it in some reviews.   <br /> From the beginning:  I found Outdoor Xcapes at a Home Show.  I had Bret come over and look at what I wanted done, and we decided to design my overall wish list to see where it would fall in the budget.  It was a great design, but budget concerns had me take out items and cut costs where i could.  We went through 2 or 3 design modifications.  At our last meeting, we discussed final changes, set a tentative date to start.  I had written down all of the changes I wanted and, mistakenly, thought Bret would either redo the design or write an addendum to it.   <br /> We set a start date of 8/24 and they said they'd be done in a week to ten days.  The reviews and references said they did come in with a big crew and got things done fast, which appealed to me.  (I had been working with another company as well, and chose Outdoor Xcapes based on their design and fast completion.)  On 8/21, Jesse called and said they had a crew available and could start demo work.  They worked Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and pretty much completed demo  On Monday morning the crew came and started work.  The majority of the work was done the following Friday.  That said, during that week there were a number mis-communication issues because Bret hadn't updated the plan and the crew was going against the plan!  Here's some examples: <br /> *  On the BBQ island I wanted smooth stucco, drawers, no refrigerator.  Luckily the crew asked me about the refrigerator, but they had to redo the stucco because there was no note to keep it smooth.  The drawers were finally installed on 9/22. <br /> *  Plants:  Bret and I went to the nursery and picked out plants, trees, trellises.  He said he would get a list to me (which he never did).  The wrong trellises were delivered, and one of the plants we looked at for ground cover wasn't in the group (I didn't remember the names of all of the plants, but this particular one was unusual.  Jesse was willing to go get them, but since I wasn't sure of what the plant was called, we decided not to).   <br /> *  The wrong pavers were delivered initially.  Luckily we caught it as they were being delivered.  <br /> *  I had three areas of river rock that I wanted removed.  Bret told Jesse to remove two of them and leave one (that is a boundary between lots) and by the time I caught it, we didn't have enough of the other rock to trade it out.   <br /> *  Bret and I initially had discussed installing pavers on the driveway.  To cut costs, we took that out of the project.  But, we discussed how we could remove the paint from the driveway; he said he'd check with Jesse.  I mistakenly assumed that was part of the project; it never was completed and since I didn't have it in writing (my error), I didn't have much to fall back on. <br /> They completed the majority of the project on 8/28 and came back the following week to install the woks for the water feature and get it up and running.  I had a couple of issues with it initially, and they were very responsive in coming over and looking at it.   <br /> The crew was amazing.  Very professional, very hard working.  They were generally here at 7am and working some days until 4 or 5 in the afternoon. <br /> And, even with some of the miscommunication, the crew didn't hesitate to make it right.  I come from an environment where process and quality assurance are important.  In looking back at the entire process, I would recommend that the customer ensure that OE has, in writing, all of the changes that have been discussed; that the sales person, supervisor and customer sit down for 15-30 minutes on the FIRST day to ensure that are all in agreement with the plan the crew is looking at, and finally, that someone from OE meets with the customer at the end of the project to do a quality assurance review and punch list. <br /> Start of project, 8/21;  totally completed, 9/22. <br /> <br />

They exceeded our expectations at just about every turn. Initially we had concerns because they took a long time to get back to us. It turned out to be an incorrect email address. Once we connected with Steve it went very smoothly. He was very responsive, listened to what we wanted and offered appropriate, creative ideas with our goals in mind all along. When we weren't certain if we needed HOA approval for some of the work, he took care of contacting them and getting the okays. <br /> When the first day of the job occurred, we needed them to come out extra early and they showed up exactly when they said they would. We talked through the job with the foreman and they got to work. They did everything they said they would, when they said they would, and with tremendous skill. Steve called or texted every night to keep us informed and see if we had any questions. They said the project would take a little over a week and they had all principal work done by Saturday. They came by a couple of days the following week to button things up and address small issues we identified. There were a couple of issues we had were concerned about that they addressed before we had a chance to communicate it. They pointed out a couple of things that they noticed late and addressed them. <br /> We now have the backyard we wanted and it has exceeded our expectations in almost every way. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and I know we'll work with them in the future. <br />

It went very well.  They did what they said they would do and only had one call back for a minor problem. <br />

Everything went well.  They showed up on time and had as many as 6 people working on our yard.  The  job was finished in one day.  Old plants, a trellis, old pots, and white stone were removed.  A new sprinkler system was installed with updated water connections.  Pavers were put in place of the white stones and look fantastic.  They matched some we already had.   We would recommend this company to anyone who wants landscaping done. <br />

I love my new backyard.  Outdoor XScapes recommended a beautiful selection of plants and did a fabulous job with all the hardscape.  I can't wait until the weather cools down so I can use the beautiful firepit.  They were incredibly responses to our many questions and worked closely with us to modify the design to meet our expectations.  They were even able to do the works a few weeks earlier than originally scheduled, which was much appreciated. <br /> They were on time both days and did an excellent job.    We are so glad we chose them! <br />

I had an excellent experience with Outdoor Xscapes, from design to completion. Joel worked with my ideas, was very professional, listened to what I wanted, and worked within my budget. Once the contract was signed, the work was scheduled and completed within the time promised. They even allowed me to change out some of the plants from the original design. The crew worked efficiently and were very fast, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was cautious not to interfere with the work, but they were accommodating when I asked any questions. It became clear that I had nothing to worry about as these guys knew what they were doing and did it very well. It was amazing to watch my backyard be transformed. I simply couldn't be happier with the work that was done. No corners were cut, no details over looked.
