Dave Socko, the salesman who met with us initially, did a great job. I appreciate how he took the time to educate us on the pros and cons of different waterproofing methods, and explained how their approach was different from some of the other companies out there. The whole process was very simple and hassle-free. They got the job done quickly (despite a snowstorm that happened in the middle of the job.) They kept us informed as to their progress, and they did a good job of keeping the area clean at the end of each day. It took them less than three full days of work to get all of it done. (Tearing out all of the carpet, paneling, drop ceiling, and some of the walls, and installing the waterproofing system, and getting rid of the mold growth) I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who has issues with water in their basement.

The group of guys showed up on time and starting working pretty quickly after that. They put down carpets so they didn't destroy mine, setup a dust fan to keep the dust to a minimum, and put plastic up all the way to the ceiling of my basement, which was impressive. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't use earplugs while jackhammering which is a personal choice, just doesn't seem like a good choice. The whole process took two days for 59LF of pipe; the guys left somewhere around two the first day and came back on Saturday to concrete and do odds and ends. They did a really good job cleaning up when the job was finished and my basement looks great.

Stay away from this contractor!!! It was an expensive nightmare! Contracted with this company in 2014 to fix water coming in over our basement wall. After heavy rains in the spring of 2015 that again flooded our basement, we contacted them in June 2015 to again fix the basement issue (which they said they would fix free of charge) and add more extensive drainage in both front and back yards. The initial quote dated August 20, 2015 was for $7,400, and we gave them a $4,000 down payment. When they workers did not show up as scheduled, we contacted the office and was told they had “confused” our quote with another customer and that in fact the cost would be $11,400. Upset and feeling we had to continue in order to resolve the water problem, we excepted the explanation for the increase and work started using an excavator to install various underground piping and stone. The initial quote called for 40 tons of river stone pebble ($2,818), 10 tons R4 stone ($924), non-woven geotextile polypropylene fabric ($972), 10 tons of R4 stone for the dry well ($924), and various equipment rentals and labor costs.

Although nice enough workers, they left us with unfinished work, a HUGE mess to clean up and water still coming into the basement. An 18” trench resulted in a 15’ wide path of destruction through both our front and back yards, the dry well they installed washed out in the first hard rain and left us with a back yard full of mud and stone (and this was after we paid extra to have the yard fixed and seeded by a landscaper).

Thank goodness we were home to keep an on things and checked the Internet on actual material costs. They never used the decorative river pebble for backfilling but did use approximately 15 tons R1/R2 crushed stone costing $480. The fabric used to line the trenches only cost $151.00, and they didn’t use anywhere near what the quote stated. They never used the R4 stone for the dry well, and there was a lot of down time because they didn’t come each morning with the materials needed to continue work.

Although they did add larger pipe to carry the runoff from our driveway, they left a gaping dirt hole in our flowerbed with a grill grate to prevent debris from entering the pipe! In September 2015, we had a very hard rain and once again the basement flooded and the unfinished driveway drain overflowed and caused extensive damage to a pond and rear beds. After several attempts to contact Mr. Shadle who was always at meetings or sick, and threats to report the company to the Attorney General’s office, both owners returned to offer more solutions to our continued problem. When confronted with the unfinished work, messy workmanship and overinflated costs, Mr. Shadle appeared flustered had no answers except to want to tear up our yard and flower beds again for another try! No way. Stay away from these guys. Contracted with another company from Lancaster and the workmanship was A+ and no more water problems!

They did an amazing job of taking our crummy and wet basement and transforming it into a dry, clean and useable basement. They exceeded our expectations with the work they did, how careful they were with keeping the dust down to a minimum and how they solved our downspout and drainage problem. When they connected the sump pump to our down spout they discovered a problem with the drain field and a blockage. they came up with a reasonable solution that was outside the scope of our contract and they priced it fairly. They worked really hard at adding an additional 15 feet of drainpipe and a drainage well in the yard. I was impressed with how they put our grass and patio back to it's original shape. I would highly recommend this company for waterproofing a basement.
Very fast, high quality work. The salesman was very clear about the inspection, possible solutions with pro/cons, and exactly what each option would cost. All the workers were friendly, and they took steps to make sure to close off the rest of the basement while they worked so it didn't get dusty, and put guards down on all the carpet from the door to the basement. Not the cheapest solution to our water issue, but I felt their solution was for the best, longest lasting solution and the quality of their work was great. I have no worries about my basement now. Their warranty covers more than the other companies we looked at as well. I would definitely hire them again/recommend them to others.

It was the worst experience with a contractor in my 63 years and I worked construction. When they packed up and left
they did nothing to the now bare block walls. I had to scrape off the peeling paint and dirt which got into my furnace and blew all through my home. Then I was contacted by the job foreman who told me I was scammed that I never had mold. When I confronted the president he told me that was just retailiation for him being fired because the job foreman was stealing from him and was wanted in Ohio. The next three nights I had to sleep in my car because the air was so foul. They then brought out a heppa air flow so I could return to my up stairs. To resolve the problem I had to pay $748.00 for the paint and $900.00 for two partial days of labor to have it sprayed on. On the last day the president showed up demanding that money before they were done and before I had a chance to inspect the work. I still have plaster repair work from their incompetence and a heating system that requires service. I have had one hard rain that the drainage system failed to stop the water soaking through the blocks and washing off the first coat off sealant. I was never so glad to get a contractor out of my home. I was threatened that I would be receiving a letter from their attorney for writing about my experience. I would welcome the chance to have their employees back grounds checked and review the pictures of their work.

The initial consultation and repair went well, until the following spring when it started leaking. Called was told I would get called back, that never happened and I forgot. Last Memorial day we came home to a wet basement, we called again and someone came out to look at it and he told me what needed to be done to repair it, and the lady called to schedule the repair, but I told her we would be out of town that day and I never was given another date. This June the basement leaked worse that it did prior to the repair. I called and was told I owuld be called back. I had to call again, and spoke to one of the managers or owner, and he told me that he wanted to come out personally, and wchedule the visit for July 31(4 weeks later) between 9am-12pm. I sat at home and waited all day and nothing, finally at 3pm I called and was told that they don't know what happened, but they will call be before 10am tomorrow.
They just keep giving me the runaround. I have the paper that has the lifetime warranty. My next phone call will be to a lawyer.
Did not use this provider. Received a phone call as they pulled up, reminding me that we had an appointment scheduled for that day. My husband was not yet home from work and he had wanted to be present for the quote. I mentioned that my husband wasn't yet home, but the gentleman said that was fine and that we could proceed without him. So we went downstairs and I showed the gentleman the problematic areas. He explained the procedure they would use to fix the problem in our basement, and then stated that he would "work up" a quote and send me an email in a few days. I never received an email or a follow up phone call, nor did my husband. So we figured they didn't need/want our business and we used a different provider who did an excellent job!!

Jackhammered perimeter of 2 sides of basement. When questioned why the drain pipe wasn't sloped to the rec'd 1 inch / 10 ft. owner said it would perform fine. The 2 workers put up plastic sheet to cover the basement steps area; however, they only used a few small pieces of blue tape which kept coming down the whole week so the dust covered everything & is still in my entire house - 2 floors & basement. All the items in basement were moved to the middle of the rooms but none were covered as I would have expected so definitely inundated with dust. The cement was not the smoothest at the edge areas - finishing not the best. They were to patch the floor cracks - only did one, missed 2 others. The 3" hole they cut in the house is a hack job - siding sharp edges left to cut fingers. They were paid to remove the moldy walls (I had actually removed the vast majority myself) but they only did a partial job. I expected a drywall gut but only a few walls were removed & the other half were just cut ~2 ft off the floor - owner saying they were fine because they were sprayed to kill mold. Felt they did a half-assed job. The company is spread thin around the state. Instead of finishing my job (2 days left) they left a portion of the support wall hanging! Owner saying "it ain't going anywhere." You can't go wrong in hiring anyone else to do a better job.
Response from PA Basement Waterproofing Inc
"Pa Basement Waterproofing Inc. is not stretched thin when it comes to installation, and when we start a job we are on site until the job is complete. In this case we were asisting another crew which was replacing a wall that had fallen in due to inclimate weather and water damage which left the homeowner homeless until it was repaired. We apologize for the inconvienence that this may have caused. As for the dust, there is going to be dust when concrete is removed, we did send a cleaning crew and took care of our mess as well as the siding and drywall. We warrant our system for a lifetime and are confident in the way our system is installed. Best regards, Jim Pa Basement Waterproofing Inc."

The workmanship was good. There was a lack of complete communication which, therefore, had the placement of the actual pump in a different place than where I agreed upon.

We have had leaks in our basement for years. This past year it has gotten much worse, and during the autumn flooding in central PA, we had about 6 feet of water . . . . We received two estimates and PA Basements was the lowest - by about $2500! The work is guaranteed forever, and the people were very nice to deal with. We had Wally give us an estimate, and we signed a contract that day. Within about a week, the office called and set up the days for the work. The job was supposed to take two days, but took three because the crew ran into some unexpected problems. So far, so good!
