Exceeded my expectations

Gary painted several bedrooms for me. He arrived on time and his crew was very professional and did an exceptional job. He went over choosing the right color that I wanted to get and the job came out great.

Gary and his crew were punctual and efficient! They did a great job and were very nice. I have small children and they even replaced all the outlet covers before we got home so that we wouldn’t have to worry them getting hurt. Very considerate, would definitely hire again.

Gary brought his crew in on time as scheduled. Gary himself took care of the patching. Then his 2-man crew covered everything including floors and furniture with tarps. When they were done, they cleaned up everything. I did not see a drop of paint out of place and the ceiling was clean and professional. I'd hire Painting by Pros again. Gary kept his word with me. The only reason I gave a 'good' on the Responsiveness was we were not always getting a prompt response to our calls. But in Gary's defense, I would guess he is busy working in keeping his customers satisfied. :)

It went quite well. Gary and one helper completed the entire job in 4 days, even though he originally estimated it would take longer than a week. They worked very long days. At the end of each day, they would clean up very well to keep the home livable. We were very pleased with the work. The price did include labor and materials.

Gary gave our the most thorough detailed plan of all the 4 contractors from whom I received bids. He did an excellent job of priming, caulking and painting--all with a brush--and additionally, he consulted with me about color. The work was done very quickly, but there were no shortcuts. We couldn't be happier with the job.

It went great. They were very prompt and responsive to my original call. They did wonderful work and were very neat. I would use them again and recommend their service.l

04-16-2016 <br /> I met Gary Van Sloun, the owner of Painting by Pros, on April 7th.  He provided me with a reasonable estimate to caulk and putty the exterior of my home as needed and apply primer and paint to both the siding and white trim.  After gathering four different estimates for painting the exterior of my home, I made the decision to hire Gary on the evening of April 13th.  Gary and his assistant worked tirelessly for two days literally caulking every gap and crevice between the siding and along the trim.  At one point, I commented to Gary how awesome the siding looked and he replied, ?That?s only the primer!?  Gary applied additional primer on certain areas of the trim at no additional charge.  He also painted my mailbox to match the home at no additional charge.  No detail was too small.  The accuracy and care that was taken to ensure fine lines and complete coverage was nothing short of extraordinary.  When Gary and his assistant left, there was absolutely no evidence they were ever here - except a home that looked brand new!  I will not hesitate for a moment to hire Gary again when my home needs to be repainted ? which I expect to be quite some time given the quality products that Gary used.  I look forward to next time as obtaining estimates will NOT be part of the process.  I highly recommend Gary Van Sloun and Painting by Pros ? competitive price, outstanding service, premium product, and an over-the-top effort to ensure I was 100% completely satisfied! <br />

We replaced gutters with larger gutters, replaced vinyl shutters with custom cedar shutters, made repairs all around the exterior of the house, painted the entire exterior and back patio.  Gary was able to act as GC and coordinate all of the other subcontractors to come out and perform the work in a timely fashion, in addition to his own painting work.  He was able to call in personal favors with his other colleagues to assist with choosing design and colors, and the end result is fabulous!  Children in our neighborhood have found my own children at school to tell them how great their parents think our house looks!  Gary uses only the best paints and knows the best subcontractors to get your project done.  This was the 3rd project we have hired Gary to do for us, and we are immensely impressed with his quality, responsiveness, and willingness to work with us to get the results we are looking for! <br />

This is the 3rd project that we have hired Gary to do.  Gary is a great guy and very personable.  His guy Juan is awesome, too.  Gary has been acting somewhat like a superintendent on our house project.  He has scheduled all of the work except for the front door replacement.  He is coordinating the wood repairs, the gutter replacement, and the sealing and painting of the exterior of the house.  We have a 2-story house with cathedral ceilings, a back covered patio area, 2 fireplaces, and a 3 car garage.  We have a lot of house to inspect for wood rot, pressure wash, prepare the surface, and seal all the holes and cracks, and then 2 coats of paint.  All of the contractors have been very prudent about not making a mess or leaving a mess, and are careful to ask permission where items may be staged overnight and such.  Before starting work, Gary had a friend of his come out and help us pick out the right colors, front door, and shutters, so that it would look good.  Gary is always available to communicate with about the project and keeps us informed of the progress.  I plan to hire Gary for a 4th project in the very near future. <br />

The job was done on the original schedule. They did an excellent job with a great choice of paints. <br /> <br />They arrived timing each morning and worked efficiently each day. <br />

He was extremely good. He did a superb job. He did a real good job. He did the work on time. There were no issues about anything. The products that he used were top-notch. It looks good and it smells good. He did it at a reasonable price.

<p>I found Gary on Angie's list and gave him a call.  He kept in touch as we figured out a time for him to stop by and give the estimate.  We accepted his proposal the next day and set up dates for the color selection and painting work.  We both needed to adjust the painting schedule a few days so we did.  Gary described how he uses Porter Paints exclusively.  He and/or his paint crew were very friendly and answered all of my questions with a smile throughout the whole process.  They put drop cloths down over everything, including floors, counters and stove.  They prepared the walls the first day and painted ceilings.  They cleaned as they went along, asked where items could be stored when not in use, and were the most polite and friendly contractor one could hope to work with.</p> <p>They kept to their schedule as agreed, generally working 7:30 am to about 6pm each day. </p> <p>Note that we have 14' ceilings in a majority part of where the painting was done.</p> <p>The painting job was done very well and everything looks fantastic.</p> <p>I plan to have Gary assist with the exterior painting of the house in the near future, too.</p> <br />

We hired Gary to paint an accent wall, master bedroom and master bathroom.  The quality of the work was excellent.  He and his crew showed also showed up on time and the work was completed according to schedule.  Although we never discussed it, Gary even patched holes in the walls and window trim for us!  He treated our job like he was painting his own home.  He's a true pro!  We're glad we found a painter that we can count on for honesty and quality.  We'll definitely hire Gary again! <br />

Very good. remove stains on guttter that had been there for a couple of years. Called back right away and set up appt for quote. Punctual on day of service and very professional. <br />

I found Gary through a co-worker/friend, who praised his level of professionalism.  I've always been someone who painted my dwellings myself, but given the time line I was working with (while I enjoy painting, I'm not that fast) I knew I needed help. <br /> I was moving from a 1/1 condo that I would be renting, to a 1925 2/2 house that had been long neglected.  Gary came and walked through both locations.  I thought I needed to repaint the entire condo and asked for a quote.  Gary pointed out that the majority of the walls were in good condition and ended up matching the existing paint and only charging me for the surfaces that he repainted.  At the house, given my budget, Gary quoted each project separately and worked with me when I was able to bundle them.  He was patient and professional with me through all my questions, many were about understanding what I needed to do prior to him working (did I need to clean, sand, putty, etc?).  His response, "all you need to do is pick a color and write the check", music to my ears during a busy, stressful time.   <br /> Again, I'm an HGTV/DIY fan and I don't mind painting, but given the quality of paint, quality of work (which means leaving my place clean unlike other vendors I've used), and speed of execution (I definitely value the little free time I have and he's easily 10x faster than I am), I almost feel like I come out ahead with Gary vs doing the work myself.  <br /> I have already used him for other projects and refer him to anyone who is looking for a painter.  I've even had friends call me for his information so they can refer him.  Additionally, I find him to be a positive, nice, fair, hard working person who takes pride in his work.  These are qualities that I value in people I do business with.
