PAINTING INC

When they were painting the work was fine, but then things got a little weird and he started asking for more money. There was an altercation between him and the man he hired to install the back splash where they were yelling at each other in my home which made me very nervous. He then left and did not complete painting two of the walls and did not install the back splash or the two saddles in the kitchen. These are things neither my husband or myself have the tools to complete and regardless we have paid in full for a project that has been left unfinished.

They did a pretty good job at a reasonable price. I am giving them a C for professionalism because they put us off for a week and used painters from another company. They had a tendency to take long lunch breaks and initially forgot their drop cloths. They had some problems at the start, but they did fix their mistakes. Mike, the boss, made some suggestions that turned out very well. The final product was cost effective and generally good. I found them on Angie's List.

I expected that they would fix any nail 'pops' that were either indented or raised. They did a random few and when I marked about 20 more that needed fixing the price went up by 40%, which I paid. There are still many that I didn't mark that were skipped. The outlet covers were not painted. I had removed some and those that were in place were slopped on and stuck to the wall. There were blobs of paint here and there. The windows were painted shut. We had to force them open by reopening all the crevices with a putty knife. When we finally got them open it peeled the paint away in areas and the top edges weren't done. We then had to sand, prime, & repaint all the windows. My floors had been refinished the week before and they left clouds of paint residue after 'cleaning up' spills. After assuring me they would cover the floors with paper they didn't until the 2nd day when I asked them to. The baseboard heater was painted askew and when straightened had to be painted.
