Painting Plus

They did a very good job of painting, but they had to come about 3 or 4 times to do it, and they came about 3 or 4 times to do the gutters and still didn't get it right. They had to do the deck twice, and I am not sure how well that is done. The price was pretty high. They did a good job, but they missed out on a few items. We had to keep calling them back to do it again. The staff is okay, they came when they promised, it is just that because of the exterior painting, they depended a lot on the weather. It went over the schedule by a few days, and the weather stretched it out even further.  The punctuality was good. They worked really fast like flash lightning.

They have done the exterior and interior of my house. They are excellent and respectful of your property. Kerry is the 1st person I go to when it comes to painting.

Kerri and his company were excellent. I got 3 quotes, and Painting Plus was the middle one. I think the quality of work was very good, I did not want to pay an additional $2000 to have the peeling sides scraped and sanded down to the bare wood. Kerri is straightforward and very responsive with the quote and scheduling the work. <br />

Dave and his assistants were prompt, polite and very hard working. I plan to use them again in the fall to finish the interior painting. Dave was very responsible and easy to contact. NO COMPLAINTS <br /> <br /> <br />

I got several 3 quotes, and frankly they were all very close in price. it really came down to who seemed to be most knowledgeable about what I needed to get done. I hired Kerry / Painting Plus since he seemed to be most knowledgeable about woodwork we needed. <br />

Kerry was professional and provided a quick and reasonable quote to do the work needed. His quote for the window washing was $160 higher than who I was originally planning to use, but because they were there and already powerwashing the outside, I decided to go with him for the windows, also. <br /> The powerwash went beautifully and I was extremely pleased. They had a few spots they missed, but were good to come back and touch them up. Painting the trim was also excellent. However, the window washing situation was a nightmare. It was obvious, the workers were getting on-the-spot instruction (never having done it before). Once completed, it was a smeary mess, not to mention the outside screens were left to dry with water drops...leaving residue that did not go away once dry!!! I was trying to touch up the mess of smears myself, when I realized the top portion of every window was not left properly latched and would drop the moment I raised the lower portion. Kerry did return to make this situation right, taking care of securing all the window panes. However, he and workers left massive fingerprints on EVERY window. Now I have smears and fingerprints! When I called to have this rectified, there was never a return call of any kind. My windows are worse now, than when they just had an even layer of dirt on them!! And for this I paid $160 MORE than I would have with a proven window washer. <br /> In the beginning, they assured me they would return, up to 3 years, to make any problems right, They stressed they had their own electrician, on hand, if anything was amiss (I had a speaker problem even before they left). My outdoor music speaker, on the deck, was knocked out by the powerwashing. They wanted me to let it dry out, but it never bounced back, and Kerry has not made good on his promise to correct any damage done. <br /> He did a fantastic job on the actual powerwash, and trim painting looked great. I would NEVER hire him to do windows. His failure to follow up with problems he left, really overrides the good work he did, accounting for my overall D rating. If you choose to risk using him, I would withhold part of the monies, until you get full satisfaction. I trusted he would return, but he did not.

Kerry was extremely responsive to our original call and came out within a day to perform the initial quote. The price was so good and the Angie's List reviews so positive that we hired him without getting any other quotes. There were a few delays to the start of the work, which wasn't a huge problem except that he didn't call us to let us know (didn't find out until we called to check when they'd be starting) - this was the only downside of the whole project. The 3 painters that came out to do the work were very professional and friendly and did a fantastic job - the house looks amazing! They were also quick - all the painting was done within a day and a half.

The exterior of our home needed to be painted due to the damage caused by ice damns the previous winter. Painting Plus' quote was very competitive with the other four quotes I received. The house came out great! It only took three days and they came out when they said they would. The first day was pressure washing the house; second day they came and scrapped as well as some minor repairs (replaced some shingles and a rotted board); the last day they painted the house and trim. It looks great! It was at least a team of six that came to paint and they were very professional and neat. They even painted our light pole, mail box, and exhaust stacks! We are very happy with their work and would definitely would call them again.

Did not finish the job he was paid for. Very responsive in getting late season (before winter) job almost completed. Firewood stacked on one small (10x10) porch inhibited painting of porch railing and 10x3 section of deck. Kerry said that he would return in the Spring to complete the painting (max 45 ninutes of work). I paid him in full. Numerous calls from me in Spring were not returned. I did reach him and he said he'd be out in a few weeks. Never showed up. One year has passed. I painted the railing and deck myself. Shame on me for paying in full. Shame on him for blowing me off.

The crew did the family room/loft all in one day, very nicely, and left no mess at all. The prior work they did, on our exterior, was great--a reasonable price, quickly done, including power washing, without rushing. The paint job has weathered very well; no visible mold growth after three years, whereas our previous paint job had started molding in less than a year (we live surrounded by woods). Kerry was very patient with our difficulty in settling on a color and was flexible about scheduling the job. He's also very knowledgeable about types of paints, stains, etc. and can offer intelligent advice. Kerry didn't always return calls the same day, but did get back to us reasonably quickly. We plan to hire him again to paint the rest of our interior.

The experience was good. They came out promptly and did a good job on the house. There was a miscommunication on the deck. Kerry, the owner, went on vacation and his painters didn't know what we had agreed. They did a good job but we had expected them to do a varnish on the interior porch but they came through and painted the interior of the porch. It was just a one-time communication thing and we would readily use them again. Their price was very competitive. We got quite a few other bids. Quite a few other people had given us their name. The previous owner had deferred the painting of the house. We would definitely use them again.

They were very good. The owner was very good. He came out right away and gave me a good estimate. He explained everything. When the workers were here, they did the work very quickly. Their quality was very good. I would use them again in the future if need be.

I think given how much there was to do and the additional things we added, staining, the price was fair. Kerry gave a good discount for starting the job at the end of the season in 2009. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and we had to finish it the following April 2010--but he honored the discount. It took some time to get the punchlist completed but I wasn't in a rush so that was okay. Kerry has a lot of jobs going on concurrently but I was able to work with this and he was very willing to work with me on pricing, timing, and payments which was great. There were a couple of places that had to be redone but Kerry got them fixed relatively quickly.
