I appreciated that they worked hard and didn't take all day to move my home. They were all polite and hard workers that took care of my belongings.

Matt and his crew worked their tails off and successfully moved our belongings quickly. They showed up on time ready to work and had a crew of 5. I hope to not move again for a long time, but if we do I’d happily use them again.

Fantastic service! PakPros maximized the amount of pod space that I had by professionally packing the majority of my five bedroom home into two 15ft pods, saving me a lot of money on the storage end of my move. Fun, hardworking crew! I'd recommend them to anyone.

GREAT! He had great response time. Told him the job and that it might actually be a little challenging, but he was all positive vibes. He and his crew showed up when they said they would, and started to work right away. They definitely got their work out in lugging up our massage tables to our third floor office level. No damages to tables nor the walls, which was awesome. Would for sure give these guys another call in the future with any of our moving needs!! It took them 2.5 hours with four guys going up 4 flights of stairs.

My wife and I needed a full house move from Kansas City to Central Illinois. We got bids, and Matt Hazen with PakPros Movers was the clear winner. He was more than $500 less than the nearest bid. We went with Matt. There were challenges with our move, and Matt was flexible in reacting. The move happened during the winter, and it snowed during the packing and unpacking (both ends of the move). Matt and his crew did not complain – they dug in and worked until the job was done. The crew was hard working, and they worked as fast as they could. Matt was very hard working, and wanted to do his best during both ends of the job – he was on-site the entire time. This is a small business, and so the margins were low. As a result, Matt required installment payments several times during the move. I would say the payment schedule was not well defined, but fortunately we made it work. We moved most of the electronics and high worth items in cars, and we personally packed boxes which lessened the risk of damage. I would say the move happened with some expected damage. I would recommend PakPros for those who do not need frills, are flexible with payments, and who need a team that is determined.

"We were thoroughly happy to get to work for this wonderful family. I'm not sure if this review incinuates that they had anything at all damaged but if they did and they see this response I hope they reach out to us so we can reimburse them properly. We had to fight through a blizzard in both states and it was slow season and this customer was wonderful about being flexible with payments and we all made it work out great. When moving, if the belongings are all safely moved at the best possible price then I think we should get an A. Because that's what the family lives with. No damage to belongings + lowest price = A grade service company! Maybe I'm looking at it in to simple of terms, who knows, lol. But these folks were awesome and we thank them for hiring us! Matt"

NOTE: This is long but informative. I hope everyone takes the time to read this because this company showed the lowest of quality and professionalism of any company I've ever dealt with. We are military and have moved countless times, so know that this comes from an experienced mover all over the country. For starters, Matt, the owner, called, got the size of my unit, told me 3 guys x 3 hours should cover it. This was consistent with my last move not 18 months earlier. Told me 10% off for military. No mention of a minimum. Scheduled me for 8am, approximately one week out. Confirmed the night before, 8am start. Next morning, 7:45, get a call. "We haven't had a truck for weeks, and got one in time, but it needs a part. Place opens at 9:00am, should only be 1/2 hour". I tell him I'm under a tight deadline as I had planned around his time table. No worries he says. 9:15 I contact him, "We are estimating 10:30am arrival" he says. 10:15am, text him and he states "Let me do my job and get this job completed for you, we'll have you moved in by 2:30pm, no worries". ( I have all text transcripts, as you'll see I needed them). Shows up slightly after NOON. Over 4 hours late, with a Uhaul. They don't own a working truck apparently. Then, shows up with 5 guys to "Help me out", states that this is bigger than he thought (even though I gave him square footage), and they'll have to take two trips. Two guys are COMPLETELY new at this, they bring 2 blankets to wrap all furniture, throw my things around like they're not glass or fragile, even though EVERY SINGLE BOX was marked with contents. Charges me his time for stopping off at two gas stations because he has "major tooth pain". To cut to the chase, tells me I owe him over $1,000 when they're loading the last load, so has my things "hostage" at this point. They'll be done by 4:30. Tells me to run to the ATM to get as much cash as my ATM limit will allow. Or I can pay Venmo, doesn't accept normal credit card payments as advertised on his site. Venmo charges me $30 to use my credit card. Offers to knock 5% off if I "don't review him", after he asks me to review him while he's standing there. Under duress, I pay him the total. When they get to my new home, one guy tells another "You know we're off the clock, right", because it's now after 4:30. They literally THROW the rest of my things in my garage and take off, never even confirming their departure. Later I text him about a missing bed piece. Denies they have it. At 10pm, I find out that medication has been STOLEN. Remaining narcotics from a recent surgery. I report to him. He goes back and forth all weekend telling me he's determined who stole them, fired him, will not under any circumstances cooperate with the police. Continues to text me, mentioning my 4 yo daughter he's never met (CREEPY!!!), telling me that this is all my fault for moving my medicines myself, by the way, and not putting them somewhere no one could find them. Monday morning I file a police report and turn over all texts to the police who are now investigating him and his employees. PLEASE PLEASE do not hire this guy. You will regret it to the highest degree. He is corrupt, unprofessional, unethical, and I believe slightly unbalanced to say the least.

"There is ALWAYS 3 sides to every story. I'll state this brief intro to our side. But if anyone reads this message while considering hiring us please feel free and do call or text 8166097995 anytime and ask us anything. The 1st thing anyone does in preparation for their movers is put all personal belongings such as jewelry, family heirlooms, priceless belongings, or narcotic medications up and safe. This so called experienced person has had over 20 movers before but left her open basket and numerous narcotic medications open to be moved. I was caught up in the move day from being late by 2 hours. I was afraid of getting a bad review and was not thinking correctly that day. Basically all her belongings were not packed at all which is very strange considering this customer had weeks warning of her move, and she was so experienced that she was not prepared for us to move her at all that day. This was an attempt by a woman to get a free or at least highly discounted move. And I dont appreciate this customer internet bullying me and having our company reputation slung in the mud from baiting my employees and them stealing 1 bottle of countless open medications left out all day. PERIOD"

I hired Pak Pros to move all the furniture out of my apt and move it into basement storage. They packed everything carefully and ensured that there was no damage to any items. Throughout the process, they were in constant communication during the set up and moving process. On the day of the move they showed up on time. They were very efficient completing the loading, driving and unloading process quickly.

This is the 2nd time we have used Pak Pros, in the last few years. Matt and his guys were as good as it gets. I did award them the job over 2 other Angies List companies. The appointment for the day was set very efficiently. The crew was on time on move day. The crew was extremely polite and mindful throughout the day. This company has been put together to be truly customer service oriented and it really showed. I would absolutely recommend them to my Mom, or anyone else. Thank you very much

If I had to find one thing wrong that PakPros did it would be that they were 5 minutes late to the job. But besides that this company was absolutely perfect in every way and I couldn't be happier I would refer these guys to anyone that wanted a good company to help them move. Jay and Matt really kept things organized and extremely efficient.

I hadn't used movers before and so I got four bids. Pakpros struck me as a company that cared. The guys showed up on move day and they were very professional. If ever they had a question about anything they found me and asked instead of just assumed. They wrapped all my furniture before it left the rooms which I really liked. I really couldn't be happier with the work that they did for me. All the way around I would refer these guys to anyone anyday.

Update on the moving company situation. Company: PakPros Movers Price: we were quoted $1200, plus a 10% discount for military and 5% for paying in cash. Total they tried to charge us $2600. We paid $1400 cash. Upon scheduling we were told that they could start our move at 2pm and guaranteed to be done in 1 day. We have a 2300 sq ft 4 bed 3 bath house. We have a lot of stuff but not more than you’d expect in a house that size. We wanted 4 movers, they said 6 would be best, we trusted their judgement. We were advised that the employees get paid top dollar $17-22 per hour, and they work hard to earn a tip wanting to please the customer. Day 1 of the move I received a call from Rich, to ask some questions to be sure he had the right crew for the move. An hour later the owner of the company Matt called to ask if we were still moving today. Confused I said yes, didn’t I just talk to you an hour ago? He advised that was Rich, we were all good. 2 pm comes and I get a call that they were still at another job having to go back for a few things that wouldn’t fit on the truck for a previous move, and they would be here at 3pm. At 3:07pm I got a call from Rich, stating they were en route but depending on traffic would be another 30 or so minutes. He arrived at almost 4 in the U-Haul truck they had rented for our move with one other guy. The others had to stop for gas and would be here soon. He informed me that there were 8 guys but he wasn’t sure if they were all staying. I was concerned that having too many people would mean bottle necks as everything was going in one truck. He then quoted me a price of $1326 for the whole house to be moved, and he needed all 8 people to stay they would be done in 3 hours. It was more than I had planned but I said ok. Most of these guys worked really hard despite the fact they had been working since early in the morning at another move. They were so tired that one person put my daughters wooden night stand on a 2 wheeler and rattled it down the stairs causing scratches and dents that can’t be repaired. When I pointed this out Rich brought it to the employees attention telling him if he was too tired to carry something he needed to find a new job. 2 hours later they had loaded half my house into the truck. By this point they realized it wouldn’t all fit and they would have to make a second trip. He pulled me aside, and told me they weren’t going to get it all done in the time frame and in one trip but “we will work with you on the rest” which to me meant they expected me to pay more, he swore that wasn’t what he was trying to say, but instructed the guys to move all the big stuff, so that in case we didn’t choose to have them complete our move we didn’t have big stuff left, just all the boxes. At this point I talked to Matt on the phone. He basically tells me that my move is going to cost $2600 and he would work with me, so we didn’t have to pay that much. While I was discussing things on the phone with him, the guys started piling our solid wood furniture, into the truck with no wrapping or padding. At one point 2 of our bed rails were placed face to face, set on their end on the concrete and Saran wrapped together, chewing up the finish on the wood. At this point Matt and I couldn’t come to an agreement as I wasn’t willing to write a check for an unknown amount. And we got the sense that they were going to hold our belongings hostage so my husband took the keys to the moving truck. Rich threatened to call 9-1-1. We finally got it resolved and prepared to leave when the employees started fighting amongst themselves, threating to throw punches, all over money from earlier in the day. 4 of the crew were sent home, and 5 remained for the unload. We arrived at our new house around 7:30, where Matt told the employees not to unload a single piece of our furniture until I had paid $1,000 cash. And said they would finish the job for the $1400 cash I had (I took out extra planning to tip the guys) and then I could pay $500 when my house sells. They didn’t start unloading til 8pm when I paid them $500. Rich spent 20-30 mins writing up an IOU, for me to sign (picture posted). They were supposed to go back and get the 2nd load but those guys were exhausted. So I recommended they finish in the morning if possible so the guys could get a break. They all agreed, so we planned for 8:30am. Rich took the money I paid them $1400 cash and gave a couple of the guys $40 cash “to hold them over til morning, when they could get paid the rest” Day 2: much to my surprise they actually showed up. They still didn’t get everything in the truck that was left. My husband met them at the old house and it took 2 hours to load the truck and another hour and a half to unload. While loading the truck 2 of the movers got into an argument which lead to some pushing and a broken lamp. None of the furniture they took apart was put back together. As we have inspected our furniture we have found gouges, scratches, dents, and dings on far more of it then should have happened. Matt (the owner) showed up at our new house (smelling of illegal drugs) and spent time chit chatting with a couple members of the crew while my husband and 2 of the crew unloaded the truck. Upon unloading, we discovered that a oil pan from the garage was loaded sideways spilling out on boxes and ruining some of our fabric items. Their website promises a money back guarantee, and he says he is insured but has yet to respond to my messages regarding my damaged property.
Response from PakPros
"With the outright bullying tactics, name calling, bbb and Angie's list threats that were made nonstop by her belligerently drunk husband I chose to not even go close to the homeowners so how then could anyone "smell like illegal anything". We charge the same flat rate to all our customers. All but 2 of our reviews so far on Angie's List have given us A's on price. This customer got the best deal and rated our price an F, weird. This customer knew how we charged and knew I was given them an estimate. And we never met at the home prior to moving, and I don't give flat quotes, we charge by the hour. Bottomline some people will extort every avenue they can in order to steal a dollar that another has earned for services. I wouldnt just cave in and buckle to their throats and so now I have to a distorted review to respond to. We absolutely try to be the most customer service oriented company as we can. I love helping people, we have amazing employees here at PakPros that are obsessed with helping people. Money back guarantee isnt for people who threaten us. It's for if we dont match or exceed another companies bid, which in this case they had no other bids. They had a big house that has an over abundance of stuff and our price was hourly like always and my guys worked their butts off so if they had a better perception of what all the competition charges they would of maybe been more content with the price. Cause that's the only problem this customer brought up to us. Matt"

Furniture was damaged and there was no padding and no packing (furniture was piled on top of each other). When the truck door was opened, furniture and refrigerator fell to the ground. Rude owner who yelled at me and drove away with the truck only half emptied. He then called me for money before he would bring the furniture back. Having moved multiple times, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. There are witnesses who saw and heard the movers lack of professionalism.
Response from PakPros
"I'm confused on how much to respond to this customer's review. This is total slander and exaggeration of the facts. We were on time for the move so why an F for punctuality? We actually gave them for no real reason a lower price as all the other Angie's list members rated us an A with, since it was very clear from how they were responding to everything that they had a limited budget to work with that day. We used the blankets and seran wrap on this job, the same as every job. We only had the moving truck for transportation that night, and before we left to get a short dinner my son explained to the customer where we were going and why. Absolutely NOTHING was damaged on this move, NOTHING. This move taught us alot that we needed to have implemented into our pre-job choreography to protect ourselves. There was no making this customer happy unless we caved in and gave them a free move. I'm sorry for this review and any mis-seeds that it plants. We are an awesome company that strives to the very best. Matt"

Team did a good job. They dropped a few boxes in a minor slip up, but I'll credit that to a more junior member of the crew not having the stamina quite yet. I let the supervisor know, and they'll work with him. Nothing was broken, and the team was very professional. Overall would recommend.

I had a pretty big move--a large house with a fair amount of heavy, expensive stuff. First the good. They were honest and polite, and they successfully moved 98% of our stuff without damage. The bad is that when I originally talked to them on the phone, they were overally optimistic about how fast it would be and made a quote based upon what I verbally told them and some photos from the home listing. They promised that as an Agie's List customer they would give me their most attentive service. They would put protectors on my doors, would wrap all of my furniture with blankets and plastic wrap, and would be utterly professional. In the end, they needed 75 blankets. They showed up with a bundle of about 15. They also showed up with only two dollies, one of which didn't have rubber tires on the plastic wheels and scratched up the hard-wood floor of my house. They didn't realize they were damaging the house until I pointed it out to them. They tried to put some blankets on the floor to protect it, but they didn't have any tape to hold the blankets in place. Rather than getting the equipment they needed to properly move my things, they decided to make due with what they had. The result is some of my furniture got damaged. For example, we have several wall hangings and paintings, and they stacked them all next to each other in the truck like library books. Some of the metal hangings damaged some of the paintings and wood frames. The worst, probably, is that they were completely out of blankets when they loaded my expensive wood dining room table, and they put it on its end on the bare metal of the moving truck, with the bare surface of the table scratching against the wall of the truck. See photo. How could a professional laod an expensive dining room table like this without KNOWING it would be damaged? The individuals responsible felt terrible for what happened, and they discussed how to make sure it wouldn't happen again. And, they gave me a big discount that should be enough to fix the damage. But still, the overall experience was frustrating. Having said all that, I think they'd do better next time. But in general I'd trust these guys more with a moderate sized move than a big move with lots of expensive things.
Response from PakPros
"This job was a major learning experience for us as a company. We don't ever want to make the same mistakes that were made on this job again. And we choreograph our moves now the correct way everytime because of this job/experience so that the mistakes are only in the past, and won't ever be duplicated. Matt"

I have moved many times and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had with a moving company. I would not recommend PakPros and will not use them in the future. The entire experience was stressful. After being told multiple times that they would arrive in about an hour, they finally showed up 4 hours late and the truck took another 30 minutes before it arrived. A total of 6 guys were sent to our location - many of whom had worked a job all morning prior to ours. Since we were paying per man per hour with a minimum of 3 hours we were a bit concerned that 6 guys was a bit much. I can’t say definitively that the job would have been any better or worse with 3, 4 or 5 guys instead of 6, but I do know that the team did their best to move us quickly despite being tired and hungry upon their arrival at the apartment. I don’t fault the team for being late - that’s an issue with the owner over booking. And we were not informed that cash payment is preferred and results in a discount until after the move had started. At 7pm on a Saturday it is nearly impossible to get large amounts of cash. I will accept some of the blame for not specifically asking when booking, but a follow up email or phone call explaining acceptable payment methods, confirming the terms of service, and generally providing a frazzled client who’s trying to pack up their life’s possessions would have been nice and could have avoided additional stress trying to gather cash at the last minute. Since the team started over 4 hours late, our move was not finished until after 10pm. My husband and I were tired and didn’t even realize the damage to our furniture until the next day. Many of our solid wood pieces have dents or chips where previously there were none. Labels on boxes were ignored and packed in the truck upside down or dropped in the requested rooms upside down - even fragile pieces labeled as such and clearly marked with a proper top. We still haven’t found all the hardware for disassembled furniture. PakPros is not worth the money. We hired a mover to eliminate stress but all this mover did was ruin my weekend.
Response from PakPros
"I don't have excuses. This customer feeling so strongly about hiring us and being unhappy is a needed opportunity to refocus on each and every move's details. This customer's hard earned money should be treated with the same attention and care as the next. We will come out a better moving company from learning from this job and review. Matt"
