After sending her a paid invoice she advised me that a check for $498.20 would be cut for me the next day. This experience was totally unlike a problem with Tru Green who refused to admit that they damaged my hedge and pavers. This company is totally professional

We were very happy with the roof and would recommend to others. All employees, including crews, were professional and courteous. Job site was cleaned up daily of debris.

It went well, and I have a 1 year warranty in case the repair leaks.

Paletz Roofing is, unlike other companies and contractors we have come across in South Florida, completely professional, reliable, and ethical.  In addition to being very skilled.  I trust the Paletzs 100% and would recommend the company to anyone. Once again, Paletz DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB!!! <br /> <br /> Owner Joe Paletz promptly came to my house and gave me a fair estimate as compared to several other companies I had called. <br /> <br /> A few days later, Paletz's crew came out to the house, removed lots of tile and replaced the roof surface tar paper.   <br /> <br /> They cemented back the tiles and perfectly matched the cement to the neighboring surface.   <br /> <br /> They also replaced the wood fascia.   <br /> <br /> AS AN ADDED BONUS, they repainted the fascia to match what was already there, saving me the extra painting work! <br /> <br /> THE BEST PART is that Paletz warranties their work for 1 year.  If the leak comes back, they will return and fix the problem!  Try finding another company that guarantees a repair!  NO OTHER ROOFER does this! <br /> <br /> I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND PALETZ to anyone for repairs or replacement.  I've used them many times on different projects and they always come through.  I've also recommended them to friends and family, who have all had great experiences with Paletz.  YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THEM!  A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I've been using Paletz for over 15 years!  As a Realtor, they do several jobs a month for me.  I also refer them to all of my clients. They also take care of my home, office and investment properties.  NEVER have they ever been unfair with me, nor has anyone reported back that they were taken advantage of.  They show up on time, do the work as promised, are neat and guarantee their work.  There are times that they cannot be certain that their work fixed the leak, but if the leak reoccurs, they come right out and fix it!  NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!  Also, if the work took longer than they expected or needed more materials, they have never come back to us for more money!   <br /> As a Realtor and based on the dozens of roof inspection reports I see every month, I can tell you with certainty that Paletz's prices are fair as compared to others.  Very few roofers in South Florida have been around as long as Paletz.  Many come and go.   Paletz's longevity is partially based on their fair treatment of customers, reasonable prices, responsiveness, guaranteed success repairing leaks and a real warranty that you can count on!  When you call Paletz, someone answers the phone.  For this, you pay a fair price! <br /> For the posters who whine about paying too much after you accepted Paletz's proposal and it took a short amount of time to do the work, re-read how foolish your post sounds!  If Paletz took twice as long to do the work, would you have offered them more money???  Do you have life insurance?  If your policy terms-out, do you complain that you didn't die so you should be entitled to a refund? <br /> I wish there were more contractors like Paletz in South Florida!  Yeah, there are "cheaper" of every field, but you always get what you pay for!  INTEGRITY IS PRICELESS!  I would hate to pay ANY amount of money for a repair and have it fail and not be able to find the roofer to return and fix it!!!  You'll never have to worry about Paletz.  They will come when you need them! <br />

<p>Mr. Paletz provided me with an estimate of $1,100 to repair leak. He said price was high due to location of leak, and difficulty ( which I presumed meant time) to repair.</p> <p>I signed estimate, and work was done following week. He sent out a three man team who repaired the leak in less than one hour, with minimum, if any, cost of material. So it was labor cost only.</p> <p>$1,100 divided by three man hours comes out to $367 per man hour. Even adding on overhead and insurance this seems an high cost of roofer.  I believe this is price gouging.</p> <p>I called Mr. Paletz, and wrote to him requesting a price reduction due to perhaps a faulty estimate. He never responded by telephone or mail, nor sent me a refund. </p> <p>I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau of Broward County.</p> <p>If he had justified on the phone, or by mail. why this one hour job should cost $1,100 I would have listened. However, he just mumbled something about high insurance cost, and would talk to his accountant and get back to me. He never did.</p> <p>I will never use Paletz roofing again, and would appreciate your helping me to get a response as to why he has not replied.</p> <p>Ik</p> <br />

Paletz did the roof inspection for my home purchase. At that time they indicated there was a leak in the overhang of the roof. It was not visible inside the house. After moving in I got a quote from another company for several hundred dollars more. It turned out that quote was the company's minimum and the rep told me the price from Paletz was realistic for the work that was needed. I set up an appointment with Paletz and they arrived on time. They completed the work in half a day. I can't really speak to the quality of the work up top without having someone else inspect. My only complaint was that they put all the debris in my trash can rather than taking it away with them. <br />

|Within two weeks we had another rain and exact same spot began leaking severely. When we called, his response was that they have done everything they can to repair the roof and there is nothing else they can do - but that we should hire them to put a new roof on the building. We called another roofing company who came out, removed the tile from the affected area and showed us that the wood underneath was NEVER replaced and in fact we could actually see the sky through the hole in the roof from the master bathroom. | |This company has been dishonest and cunning and never did what they said they did - repairs were not done. I would never call them again and would never trust anything any roofer tells us without seeing it with our own eyes. | |In the meantime, the repeated and long standing roof leaks that were not properly repaired by this company had caused extensive damages to ceilings and walls in the building and needed to be replaced. | |Do not trust this company, save your money and call someone else. | | <br /> <br /> <br /> UPDATE 2/19/2014: <br /> <br /> I just returned from a trip and had a message on my recorder from Cindy at Paletz roofing threatening to get their lawyer involved if I did not remove my negative comments about their company. To begin with, I see that the company has responded that and quot;the name does not come to mindand quot; and they are and quot;suspicious about this complaintand quot;. So, how did Cindy call my house and left a threatening message if and quot;the name does not come to mindand quot;??? <br /> <br /> I pulled my records from their non-existent repair work and confirmed that they visited our building several times within nine (9) months and charged us multiple times for visits for a total of just under $4,200 (correction to the amount I reported previously), and the last statement was from her husband who said and quot;there is nothing else they can do unless you get a new roofand quot; and they actually provided me with a quote....in writing. <br /> <br /> Lastly, there are other roofers who followed Paletz and provided quotes to fix the leak - but I finally found one HONEST roofer who actually SHOWED me the hole of 2and quot;-3and quot; in diameter where Paletz roofing claimed they had repaired - the cost = $1,100. That spot still had the hole in the sheathing - it was NEVER repaired. <br /> <br /> My repeated calls within days and weeks of those supposed repairs received more bills from them for and quot;repairingand quot; leaks that were and quot;unrelatedand quot; to the previous repair. I finally gave up and looked for another roofer. I should have demanded for my money back. There is not much a consumer can do short of climbing to the roof of a two-story building and verify what the roofer tells us. <br /> <br /> I find it reprehensible for a company to threaten consumers for the sake of silencing them. I applaud Angie's list where consumers can voice their approval of good companies as well as disapproval of dishonest companies. The consumer voice should never be silenced.

They provided services as requested to fix roof leak. Had to get two qoutes as first quote was wrong. Quality work and no problems with roof since repairs made.. <br />

So far the repair has been acceptable, however it has not yet been tested with any significant rainfall. <br /> I would not recommend this company based upon excessive price gouging for their services. <br /> Paletz provided us an estimate of $600 to repair a leak in our roof, explaining a repair that suggested excessive labor. Their technician showed up, removed a few tiles and put a handful of cement over a 6 inch hole in our sheathing in less than 25 minutes. For this service they charged $600. I complained to the owner who was unsympathetic, stating they do not charge based up time to complete the task. The equivalent hourly labor rate would be $1440. This is price gouging by any standard. <br /> <br /> <br />

Paletz performed a thorough inspection before we purchased our home and identified a few trouble area. They provided a reasonable quote and carefully explained, with visual representations, what the problems were. We hired them to perform the repairs, which they did quickly and on budget, despite finding that some of the damage was slightly worse than it appeared once they started to do the repairs. Would definitely recommend them and use them again if necessary, but hopefully it won't be. <br />

The communication was excellent. The quality of work was very good. Any problems during the project were addressed and rectified. They were always professional. <br />

They did replace the wood. However, I now have the problem that the wood is rotten all over again. It turns out that they only replaced the wood and didn't fix the leak which caused the wood to rot in the first place. <br /> Right after they and quot;fixedand quot; the roof, I was able to see that there was water flowing between the roof and the wood. Not being a professional myself, I didn't realize that this was what had caused the rot and that this meant that the wood would rot again. It has only been 3 years and I am now facing having to get the problem fixed all over again. They are stating that their warranty was only good for 1 year and are quoting me $450 to fix it again. I don't think that I should have to pay since they didn't do the correct work the first time around. <br />

They are very responsive. Set up the appointment quickly, and got the work done quickly. They are easy to talk to as well.
