I made a mistake. I paid Mike Smidlein aka Papa's Painting before he finished the job. He collected the money and never showed up again. I have not only paid him in full but also gave him a big tip ($300). Apparently, it didn’t help; I guess a cheater will remain to be a cheater no matter what. The work he has done was mediocre at best. He left visible streaks of paint and mismatched shades of white. I will never use him again and would certainly not recommend him.

Mike and his crew were very professional and punctual. They pressure washed all painting surfaces and scraped, caulked, and primed where needed. I kept the same color scheme and they matched it perfectly. I have a large front and back porch (with 18 stairs) and all this needed painted as well as the foundation of my home. My home is 2 1/2 stories and very high and this presented no problems at all for the crew. I got 4 quotes for this job and I was shocked at the huge difference in quotes. Shortly after painting my rear steps it rained. Although I could not detect any defects, Mike insisted on repainting the steps which says a lot about the quality of his work. Papa' s Painting is a very reliable company and I would not hesitate to use them again.

I was very satisfied with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the workers. They took extra measures above and beyond to insure that the job was done correctly. I highly recommend this operation, and would hire this company again for other work.

Our house badly needed painting. Estimation process: Mike from Papa's Painting came to give the estimate a few days after I contacted them, had suggestions as to color, materials needed for some repairs and products that would enhance the look of the house. He explained the process, length of time needed to complete the job and when they could start. He met every deadline. Painting: Mike, Brandon, Brian and Phil worked on our job. They arrived every morning, worked for the entire day and did a beautiful job power washing, scraping, priming and painting the house. They asked questions if necessary. All communication was pleasant. We highly recommend Papa's Painting.

"THE QUALITY YOU DESIRE AND THE THE PRICE YOU DESERVE". For once, a slogan that actually delivers on its promise. I totally agree with sentiments expressed in the reviews listed herein. Owner Mike is a gentleman, true to his word, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. He was tasked with matching existing exterior paint shades where siding had been replaced. The matches were spot on, "LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED" - another catchy slogan that applies here in spades. "24 CARAT"! And his colleague Brandon is a perfectionist (in a good way) who takes pride in his work.

We had a great experience with Papa's Painting. I attempted to paint the area myself and quickly realized I needed a professional. Mike, the owner, came to our home promptly and quoted a very reasonable price to prime and paint a large area. He did all the work himself, and did a beautiful job. Mike called to confirm when he was coming over, and arrived on time. He is a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend this company, everything went smoothly and we are very happy with the work.

Mike is the owner and is hands on for a good part of the job along with a crew of regulars. He gave me a thorough and fair estimate on the spot (less than others), was great with communication, and upbeat the whole time. Everyone on the crew was great too -- working around MY mess. The crew worked really well together and was here when they said they would be. My house looks great and I'd recommend Mike and Papa's Painting without hesitation.

It couldn't have been any better. The crew gave me an estimate on Tuesday and was able to start the following Monday - and only because I asked them to hold off until that day. They were able to complete the job in two days - and it looks wonderful. My wife and I couldn't be happier with how nicely everything turned out - it was a great experience all around - from the customer service to the results of the work. Communication was clear and always available if I had questions.

Mike and team completely blew away our expectations on every level - service, punctuality, friendliness, and the incredible final result of their work. We will never look elsewhere for any of our future painting needs! Thanks again for everything!

Mike is terrific to work with and we'll surely have him back for all our future painting projects. He was very prompt when we called for an estimate and he did both jobs when it was convenient for us and the work is excellent. We recommend him highly.

Mike and his crew were absolutely the best we could have ever wanted.  Very detail oriented and not over priced.  He is an owner operator that really cares about his work and would be there very long days.  He transformed our home from an ugly dark brick house to a very beautiful white brick <b>"home"</b>.  The transformation was absolutely amazing.  We will definitely have Mike and his guys back for many more projects without hesitation.

Papa's paint were extremely thorough in their effort to paint the exterior trim of my 90 year old home. The entire job start to finish took about two and half weeks, and included significant scraping, power washing, repair, caulking, priming, and finally painting. Most of two weeks was spent on prep work. Due to their diligence, the condition of the trim was far improved in the final product as they caulked and sanded areas that had been greatly deteriorated or had showed evidence of past paint chipping and scraping. They also gladly painted detailed parts of the trim to fit my vision for the color scheme. The crew were very nice and courteous, and cleaned up at the end of each day. They typically didn't start until 10am each day, where some days we had a full crew and other days only one or two workers were available to work on our house. Papa's paint was our highest bid, however, we decided to choose them because their quote included the most guaranteed prep work, including full priming, not just spot priming, caulking and repair, and two coats. We were glad we went with Papa's as we got all that we paid for, and more.

Great spent a total of 5 days making sure we were completely satisfied. Thank you Mike we will certainly use Papa's Painting in the future and recommend to family and friends.

They stayed late and completed the whole job in one day which we appreciated. Good preparation, presented themselves professionally, and very accommodating since we had already moved into the house. They overlooked a spot and came back the next day to fix it; no problem. The cost was very reasonable.

Fantastic! Mike is easy to work with and very customer service oriented. He really listens to what you need and does everything he can to make it happen. He was good at providing color consultation too. He provided a competitive bid (i.e., in line with others and below some) but most importantly he stuck to the contract (i.e., no surprises). We have an older house and as Mike and his team worked he'd flag things he observed and fixed thing along the way (eg, issues with trim or uneven/cracked walls). If he had questions, he is great with technology (eg, texting pictures) and was always available to chat. The crewed cleaned up each day so the house was livable throughout the job. I'd recommend without concern and is my top contractor to work with.

Mime was professional throughout. He was friendly, on time and sensitive and flexible to my needs.  <br /> I had a number of negative experiences with people not showing up, delaying the job completion etc. but Mike was on schedule throughout.  Finally a positive and professional experience. <br /> He will also paint my other house. <br />   <br /> <br />

Mike and his crew were excellent. <br /> Mike came out and gave us a quote. We were able to discuss all options clearly and methodically with him and he was able to provide us with exactly the type of paint and service that we were looking for. While his schedule was a little busy during the fall, he fit us in and had two individuals work to complete our project in a timely manner. The house was prepared for painting appropriately with all loose paint chips scraped and primed as necessary. Upon examination of the finished product, Mike completed a personal inspection and touched up any trouble areas. Both individuals on Mike's crew were professional. They were neat, courteous, responsive to feedback and pleasant to talk to.  <br /> Having both worked as a painting contractor and worked in the paint formulation industry, I am very particular about the performance of the finished product and the performance of those doing the work. Mike was fantastic! Since he was just painting the cracks, it was a tough job because it required that the paint match the existing wall paint and also be applied in a way that the new painted areas didn't stand out from the rest of the wall. Mike was pretty meticulous, painting areas and then re-checking it after it was dry to make sure it looked just right (adding another layer if needed). He was very nice too and we enjoyed having him working in our home. In fact, we're already on his schedule for outside painting in the spring. We highly recommend Papa's Painting. <br />
