Paradise Dryer Vent Cleaning

DO NOT HIRE. I repeat DO NOT HIRE this company to come clean your dryer vents (if that’s even what they do). My condo is three stories high & my dryer is on the third floor. I was told by the person that answered the phone when I booked the appointment that they would not only clean the vent from the inside but that they would also go outside and clean it from there as well. Lie number one. Two guys arrived today and literally were there less than 5 minutes. I see them unhooking the vent hookup that goes up to the roof, put one stick in that couldn’t be more than 5 feet tall because I’m 5’4” and it wasn’t taller than me, this thing had a brush at the end, he then attaches it to a vacuum, vacuums for less that 20 seconds & I’m being generous with my timing actually. Then he takes that out and attaches something else as wide as the vent hole, again vacuums for maybe 10 seconds max. While he’s doing that I’m asking the other guy questions about the process and he says oh yeah this thing here attaches to another stick and it extends up to 22 feet all the way up to the roof. Are you kidding me? You literally just put up one stick up and didn’t attach it to anything else, so tell me how is a 5 foot stick extending to be 22 feet???? He basically lied to my face. Lie number two. Then they proceeded to tell me that they would actually vacuum the place afterwards because all this lint was flying all over the place, they didn’t even move the dryer out of the way to clean their mess, so how did they clean? Lie number three. They didn’t. I suggest you steer clear of this company. Period. I then called the owner at least I think he was the owner to ask him how the cleaners are supposed to do this and he says well I’m not there and I leave it up to the their judgment. What is their judgment to only clean for less than 5 minutes if that and charge the customer $49.95? This price was discounted from $79.99 because they’ve been cleaning vents at our condo association since July so they’re giving a discount because of that. He then asks me if I was having a problems with my dryer, well no that’s not the point, you don’t tell the customer you’re going to do something and then don’t deliver. What a scam!!!!

I had no problem with the dryer drying but thought after 6 years, the vent may need to be cleaned. They were very prompt and timely. They said there was alot of build up in the back of the dryer since the hose was not attached to the vent pipe correctly in the wall. They said once that is fixed I should be fine. I then had someone come to repair that issue 4 days later. But my items still take alot longer to dry and all the lint is attached to the dryer door and not in the lint trap. I called the appliance repair person who came out this week and he assured me that there was nothing wrong with the dryer. I am calling Paradise again to come out a look at it.

In addition to vacuuming out the duct, a 2 inch plug of lint was removed from the roof top vent. Dryer works like new now.

He said that because I had a front loading washer he had to go on the roof first. Then he did a little sweeping in the laundry room and without even telling me that they were leaving they were gone. I had wanted to ask about the dryer vent in the house and why my clothes were not drying properly but they were gone. No asking if I needed anything else done. I don't even know if they checked my vent going to the roof from the inside. When I hire someone to do a service I want them to let me know what they did and if I had any questions about the service.

Excellent. He suggested new hoses and we agreed. He had them with him. Very happy.
