Doors (Interior) - Install or Replace
The work itself was good, and satisfied with final product. Where they fell down was in the $700 estimate, by which I sent them the precise specs, as well as a link to the home depot item being installed. It ended with a second visit because they didn't finish, and an argument to get them down to a bill of $1150, ~60% higher than original estimate. I get sometimes things take longer, but they initially wanted me to pay double the original estimate. Last issue is the collection process. The work was complete on a Monday, by Wed when I mailed them a check with pmt in full, I had 3 messages from them telling me my bill was 'past due'. When I responded, their response was nasty. I literally sent a check in 2 days, and they acted like I was months past due. Post sending check, continued to get 4 additional daily notices. Not the friendliest place to do business. The workers they sent out however we're very friendly and great to work with, office staff, not so much.

For projects like interior door installs, there can sometimes be added time depending on fitment, framing adjustments, or alignment once we get onsite, and we should have done a better job setting expectations upfront. The jump from the initial estimate to the final bill understandably felt frustrating, and we take that seriously. On the billing side, your experience is not the standard we aim for. Sending multiple ?past due? notices within a couple of days, especially after you had already mailed payment is not acceptable, and the tone you described is something we?re addressing internally. Colton was the repair person. Getting the patio sliding door out of the tracks (it is old and made of metal and very heavy) was a challenge and he stuck with it and got it out (it had been there about 30 years) He accurately selected the correct rollers (I bought multiple sets due to the age of the roller and slight style differences) He was very mechanically skilled ! It was a difficult repair and between his natural mechanical ability and his persistent attitude he was able to 'compensate' by putting a long screw (than those provided) and get attachment from the door frame to the rollers successfully. IMPRESSED ! Tough job - excellent work. THANK YOU !!

Despite communication snafus, the technician, Eugene, was on time, efficient, clean and knew exactly what needed to happen in order to get the small jobs done. With 20 min left, he helped me move heavy pits from my deck!! Would definitely use this service again despite the communication snags to start.

The first appointment was a learning process and we got through it by researching and understanding what part needed to be ordered. Highly recommend. Ethan was great and put in a new bathroom fan and cover and had extra time and fixed multiple things in the laundry room and kitchen. He’s the jack of all trades. Kind, knowledgeable, and we would highly recommend and use Para Home services again.

The technicians for my Para Home Services were professional, thorough, and efficient. We did a walk through of the home where I could express concerns for them to look into. Within one visit general cleaning and maintenance on appliances, vent hoods, other basic areas of the house I hadn't thought to double check fire alarm battery replacement were completed, along with patching a hole the the roof I was unaware of! As a first time home buyer with very little free time, this service is great to keep you up to date on regular home maintenance you may not think to do and proactively identify areas of concern to keep an eye on.

Para Services is a dream come true for my aging husband and me - with their help, we can now hope to spend the next decade in our own home instead of moving to a retirement community. For our first visit, two highly competent (and personable) technicians showed up and spent the day reviewing everything in our house that could possibly need maintenance or repair. We were astonished by how much they got done. For example, one of them even climbed onto the roof where they found and nailed down some loose shingles. They cleaned the dryer vent (something we’ve never had done before), re-caulked some sections of the bathroom tiles, repaired loose door handles, checked the fire extinguishers, and the list goes on and on. I was especially pleased that they replaced all the burnt-out overhead light bulbs, so now my husband won't have to climb onto a tall ladder. We really look forward to working with Para in the years ahead.
