We hired Parlor City to do a re-do of our main living area. It included redoing all the drywall, painting, applying shiplap on a feature wall and constructing 2 large beams for the ceiling. We're very happy with the finished product, especially with the wooden beams. All of the workers were attentive to details and to our wishes, especially the carpenter, Chris, who is a fine craftsman. The only issue we had was that due to some scheduling problems, the project went on a little longer than expected. We would definitely hire Parlor City for any jobs in the future!

We hired Marc and Parlor City Construction to enlarge our living room, by installing a LVL beam in the ceiling, replacing/rerouting electric outlet, reworking our floor to match and drywall and plaster our entire living room ceiling. The job was completed very professionally, on time service and at a reasonable cost. Each and every employee of Parlor City Construction was professional, congenial and trustworthy. We will in the future be hiring Parlor City Construction for further remodeling of our home.

The job was expected to take 2 months. It took 6 months to complete. I had to stay on top of the contractor to complete the job. The flooring was horrible and I actually had another contractor come in and replace it. They didn't use the correct glue and didn't follow the instructions to apply the glue. Of course, the owner said he was sold the wrong glue. This was the worst experience of my life. Please learn from other's mistakes and do not contract this company to do work.

They did excellent work. They were very conscientious as far as cleaning up daily and put up plastic so there wasn't any debris or dust getting into any other rooms. I would never hesitate to use them again in the future and I'd recommend them to others.

Work was good quality. Ran into some problems which prolonged the job longer than I would have liked.

It was great. There were 2 problem areas...a chair rail was not level and a shutter was not level. The response to correct the problems was immediate. Another job they performed for us was to plaster and paint, do some plumbing, install shelves and lighting and level and paint the floor in our basement after the house was propped up and three of the cellar walls were replaced. That was around Oct. 2013. We are still very pleased with the work that was done.

After viewing details, estimate from contractor took over 2 weeks.  The worker they sent was messy and didn't bring some of his own equipment and asked if he could borrow some of my tools  -- very unprofessional.  Would never higher again. <br />

I would not recommend their drywall people, we were not at all happy with them. Unfortunately, I believe that just based on the reaction of the owner to our complaints, I would not recommend the company. The painters were very good, but the plaster crew is absolutely horrendous. They were in to repair the plaster mats that they have made when they originally built this house so I was hoping that they would be a little more punctilious in the first place.
Response from PARLOR CITY DRYWALL & PAINTING, Inc.
"When estimating this project it was evident that there were drywall issues that needed to be remedied, I spoke to the customer after completing the walk thru and stated that since some of the drywall issues where visable only at certain times of the day(which is the nature of drywall) could they place post a note stickers adjacent to the areas they saw. It was my opinion that that would help us identify areas they could see during the evenings and early mornings which we would not be able to see during the hours we were there. When we commenced the project we sent our drywall finisher to the project with the strict instructions that he was to repair the obvious issues and whatever else the customers highlighted. I believe that this customers objection was that our drywaller was not hitting all of areas of concern, but if we could not see the issues and the customer did not point out the issues then how were we supposed to identify the problems. I do know that our drywaller was a little frustrated by the fact that everyday there were additonal areas that were in need of patching instead of the system that was set up at the initial walkthru but we thought we had worked through these problems When we recieved the payment in full there was a note attached to the invioce stating that he was not happy with our drywallers, but after speaking with my production manager he was under the impression that all of the customers concerns were addressed. I thought this sounded reasonable considering that the customer had just sent us a payment in full. When I recieved his payment, which was on Saturday the 2nd of June I called him only to get a voice mail recording, I left a message to call us back at his convenience so that I could address his concerns. The customer never called us back. It seems strange to me that if this customer felt that our drywallers were so herrendous why were they invited to have a few beers at quitting time by the customer. We strictly forbid the consumption of alcohol at a job site by employees no matter the circumstance and this offer was never accepted by our employees We have been in business 29 years and complete an average of 70-85 new homes a year and complete well over 200 additional repaint projects a year. We have a full time production manager that supervises all of our projects who reacted to this customers concerns. We have always strived to satisfy our customers and will continue to do so."
