Horrible. They had an incompetent subcontractor install my door who damaged my brand new few days old floor, broke my siding, damaged the door, left the old door and trash from the installation on my front yard, and left the outside unfinished. It is open to bugs, critters and the weather. When I contacted Pella about the incident, the sent a rude condescending install manager who laughed at the damage that the subcontractor did. Pella refused to provide me with their insurance info so I can submit a claim for the $10,000 damage to my home. There was no support from Pella corporate as these are all independent owners. The door was installed crooked so it doesn’t close, the screen was damaged, their were dents and dings all over the door, the glass was scratched, the guy attempted to nail the threshold into concrete slab (u can’t put regular nails into concrete!!) so they popped up and curled. My dogs paws got injured because she stepped on one of these curled nails. Chris Schaefer, the salesman, refused to return any of my calls or texts regarding this situation. I decided to dispute the charge with my credit card company and now Todd Stivers, the installation manager, said they will not discuss anything further until I submit a certified check. At this point, I want my house repaired. Horrible company. They use subcontractors for their installations who are not insured and if they cause damage, Pella doesn’t stand behind it or offer to repair or file a claim with their insurance provider. All they care about is making that sale, no matter the cost and to **** with their customers afterward.

We were very pleased with the service received from Pella from the initial quote to the installation. The price was very fair based on other estimates we received. They also took a picture of the paint formula we had used on the trim in the room. The window and window trim were installed already painted with that finish. They set up a date for the installation and they arrived on that date. The installers were excellent. They had the window, inside and outside trim done in a matter of hours. They also avoided trampling perennials that were emerging from the ground under the window. I'm not sure how they even accomplished that! Thank you Pella for a job well done!!

Very expensive (see below)--for 2nd time in dealing with company, unable to be given advertised promotional discount on web site/newspaper in spite of talking with agent and later writing to company without ever receiving the courtesy of a reply. The original replacement windows were installed on 10/31/16--a control knob for the blinds was missing on 1 window--a replacement was promised within days but it took until early Dec. to get the problem rectified. On the plus side, the Pella windows are of the highest quality and the instillation people do an excellent job.

I received several estimates to replace a sliding door and 6 double-hung windows. The Pella estimate was higher than the other companies, but I went with them because of their reputation and advice from family/friends. The installer arrived on time in late-August. He was very professional and left no mess behind. The installation of the door and windows took approximately 6 hours. After a couple of days, I noticed that one window screen had a tear and one window screen had a bent frame. Also, one window slid down when opened. I reported these issues to Pella (aka Crawford Doors and Windows), and they set-up a service appointment for mid-October. The service tech arrived on time in mid-October and replaced the torn and bent screens. HOWEVER, he didn't have the correct balance to fix the window that slid down when opened. I showed the service tech two more issues -- the bottom of some window screens were bowed (not flat against the sills) and the side trim had been cut too short leaving gaps/holes in the corners of some windows. He said he would bring weather stripping and caulk with him when he returned to fix the balance. I called Pella several times in November to ask when they would be returning for a service visit and was told they were waiting for a ship order for the balance. They finally called me in December to set-up a service appointment. I told the phone rep to make sure 3 things were to be taken care of -- the balance, weather stripping, and caulking. (I was frustrated that it took 6 weeks to schedule the appointment, so I wanted their next visit to be the last one!!) The service tech arrived on time in mid-December, replaced the window balance, and caulked the gaps/holes in the side trim. HOWEVER, he didn't have the weather stripping. The saga continues. I expected more from this company. Their responsiveness to issues leaves a lot to be desired.

<p>These were the 5 upstairs windows on my house. 4 years earlier, Pella had installed similar windows downstairs and I had been very happy with the job. Not so this time. Initial installation in December 2014 was fast and seemed fine. Later, however, I walked outside and realized the external cladding had not been caulked and was starting to separate from the frame. I called the project manager who inspected the job, agreed with my assessment, and had the installer contact me to arrange to come and put it right. He kept delaying the job because he was busy on other projects, and on one occasion failed to turn up when he said he would. When he finally came he and his assistant spent only 40 minutes on the entire job. On checking I saw he had still only partially caulked the cladding. The perimeter of the cladding, where it contacts the wooden frame was still not caulked, and rain could get in. I compared the installation with the downstairs windows done earlier, so I could see how the upstairs ones should have been caulked. When I showed the installer what he had not finished, he said if I wanted he would come back in the Spring and finish the caulking. I told him not to bother, since I figured I could do a better job myself. Pella needs to hire and train more professional people. I purchased a premium product, but I received much less than premium service.</p> <p>This is a postscript, to report on action taken by the company as a result of my complaint. The project manager returned to my house and confirmed that the outside cladding had not been installed to their standards. The next day, a different installation team came, removed the cladding and replaced it with new material. They were thorough, professional, and did an excellent job. If I had received this level of service initially, I would have given an overall "A". It is to Pella's credit that they returned to make good on the work.<br /> <br /></p>

Every part of the process was Excellent. <br /> Jason was our sales person. He came to the house. He explained in detail all the replacement vinyl window lines that they sold and all the specifications. He took all the measurements and we chose the type of window and he stated that he would go back to the store and write up a quote and email it to us. <br /> We got the quote right away and scheduled for Jason and the project manager, Bob, to come to the house. <br /> Bob took all new measurements to verify what we were ordering. <br /> We put in the order and they stated they would call when the windows came in to schedule the install. <br /> The windows came in quickly and the work was scheduled for the beginning of December. <br /> A two man crew should up before 8 am on the day of the install. <br /> They put down all runners in the house to protect the inside and looked at the work site for the work to be done. <br /> They were able to do any work they needed inside the truck that they showed up with. <br /> All windows were installed in one day including the aluminum they used to wrap around the outside of all windows. <br /> The blew in low expansion foam to insulate all windows to the frame and made sure everything was well fit and level. <br /> They completely cleaned all windows, frame and glass and instructed us how to use and clean them. <br /> They had to come back a day later as the one crank window they replaced by the kitchen sink did not come in with the other windows. Only one of the two man crew came back to do this. <br /> The crew was polite, professional, good workers and cleaned up everywhere inside and outside !!!!. <br /> I never found a spare nail or chips of aluminum or any debris. <br /> They also completely cleaned up the driveway. <br /> Even though they gave us a discount on the price because we were a previous customer, the work was a good and professional as the first time they installed an atrium door for us several years ago. Also at the same time Jason took a look at the piece on the screen to the atrium door. The slide mechanism that can hold the screen door open was starting to rust on the bracket due to exposure to the weather. They ordered a whole new mechanism and installed it at no cost to us. They are so good at what they do from the beginning of the process to the end. I wish we had more work for them to do for us. When we save up money again we are thinking of having them replace our front door and side window, <br /> Their products have awesome warranties and the customer service is great as well. <br />
