Crew finished in a short amount of time. Repairs to wall and foundation was stabilized. Grass has grown where holes were dug. No sinking of ground after rain.

Perma Jack of St Louis did a wonderful job waterproofing my basement. For years I struggled with the cleanup year after year, it only got worse. I had gotten 3 estimates from other companies but The Perma Jack system made the most sense and was the most affordable. I’m a single mother helping to put my son through school so my budget was limited. The Perma Jack system allowed me to waterproof my entire basement when the other companies wanted more money to only include half of the basement. We didn’t need to remove the drywall like the other estimates called for which added to the savings. The workers were very cordial and answered my questions along the way. Everyone I had contact with from the office staff, the system design specialist and the workers were very accommodating. I made the mistake of calling the office after hours and much to my surprise the owner Chris answered the phone, that was a WOW moment for me! I complimented everyone and thanked the owner for taking my call, I assured him I would be referring his company to all my friends and family members. I highly recommend Perma Jack. My basement is dry as a bone and I can now sleep with confidence when I hear the storms rolling in.

Perma Jack recently installed a perimeter drain system in my basement. As an interior designer I have worked with many different contractors on projects large and small. They are absolutely one of the best contractors that I have ever worked with. The office staff, salesperson and crew are all polite, responsive and professional. This was a big job that involved using jack hammers to break out concrete and what seemed like an endless parade of wheelbarrows hauling new concrete back in. There were no surprises, the job started and finished when they said it would and they left my basement looking great. I would highly recommend Perma Jack of st louis.

Perma Jack was an amazing contractor to work with. We had a Commerical office building that we were renovating and were on a very tight schedule. Perma Jack was able to fit right into our schedule and work efficiently to install a waterproofing sump pump system. They also were able to work around the owners employees to make sure to not distrust the office workflow. I would definitely refer anyone to use Perma Jack and will use them again on other projects.

Initially, it went well. But I didn’t know what I didn’t know. The diagnosis of the problem was incomplete. Two large basement wall cracks (clearly visible at the time because wet dry wall had been removed) also contributed to the water issues and they were never discussed. In the fall of 2017, I came home from an overseas trip to find 2 inches of mud in my basement which had poured in over the drain tile installed by PermaJack. I reached out to the company a couple of times and was told I would be contacted the next week for an inspection. But this never happened. On the advice of my real estate agent, I turned to a different company for an inspection. The cracks were clearly diagnosed as a major issue. And when the drain tile/sump pump system installed by PermaJack was inspected, it was found that the drain tile was improperly installed. The pipe laying in the drain tile reservoir was twisted so that only a third of the holes in the pipe would even come into contact with water at any one time. In other words the system was easily overwhelmed and shouldn’t have been. In addition, the system should have been installed under the sill, the wooden board I left in place after ripping out the dry wall. Because it was installed in front of the sill, it never came into contact with the corner of the foundation and water could easily come into the basement over the drain tile. I realize at the time of the installation there was lots of water damage throughout St. Louis from the massive spring storm. But in retrospect, it seems like the job was rushed and for that reason it was not done properly. Also, when I reached out to the company to inspect their work, they were fairly unresponsive. They did say they would call me, but they never did.

On the following day, January 27, 2018 at 5:23 A.M., I replied "absolutely, we will contact you (Dr. [Member Name Removed]) on Monday, or if you like, please give us a call at 636 225-2553." We did not hear from him to schedule an appointment with specific date and time, so on January 31, 2018 the office manager, Karen Fink, called and left a message trying to schedule an appointment. We have documentation clearly showing our attempts to reach out to Dr. [Member Name Removed] as we would like to inspect and resolve the water issue. We requested a return call to schedule an appointment. We are still willing to meet with Dr. [Member Name Removed] and can be reached at 636 225-2553. Once we've had an opportunity to review the situation, if there are any installation defects, we will repair at no cost to Dr. [Member Name Removed]."

Workers were prompt and did a professional job. We had the work done in 2010 and haven't had any issues with water in our basement since the work was completed. The sump pump had a 10 year warranty and we recently had an issue in Jan. 2017 where it would not shut off. We called Perma Jack and they were out the next morning. They repaired the sump pump under warranty along with no charge for labor. Excellent customer service even years after job was completed.

They were very professional from start to finish. The salesperson, Gary, explained everything that needed to be and why. He checked on progress while the work was being performed and followed up after work completion. The entire work crew was very professional and did a great job cleaning up after the work was done. They installed 7 piers and fixed one crack in the foundation wall. Their price was well below the one other company we had give us an estimate.

Wow, I was impressed the owner of perma jack came out to my house. And explain what was going on, gave me the understanding of how this works. He then sent a bid, and it was less than others. To me he had me sold just the way he explain my issues. The workmen came and were perfessional, and did as the owner said they would. They left the place clean and fixed. I don't want other things, wrong with my house BUT, I have issues perma jack will be the first I would call.

I didn't go, They took the money and ran! They said they would return our deposit if we removed our complaints about them on Angie's list and the BBB. BBB refused to remove our complaint, so perma Jack will not refund our $3000 deposit. BBB must know something we don't, because Perma Jack is a paid BBB member!
