Perry Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

I hired Perry for yearly maintenance on my AC/heater unit 2x/year. They have been extrememly prompt which is one reason I hired them after their initial contact. Plus I remember they have been in business in Tucson a long time. Luke Olson the old Wildcat basketball coach used them.

We had a heating review and annual service check. The tech did a good job explained everything and showed me all the checks he made including the burner check. He was polite, friendly and professional.

I am not happy with this service at all. I asked for my HVAC to be repaired, told him what I wanted, and he did something different. He left before I could examine his work, which was up on my roof. I asked for this problem to be resolved, have the HVAC set up the way it was originally set up by your company when the HVAC was installed, and have received unsatisfactory service. Your service man was rude and said he was not going to fix it for us. As loyal customers who invested a great deal into our HVAC and support you as a local business, I am very unhappy and if this is not resolved, we will not be using your service again.

This is the worst contractor I have ever dealt with in my life. Repair was not done as instructed. Upped the charges to double what they should have been. On the return trip the service person was arrogant and argumentative and would not guarantee any changes. The manager would not return calls to correct the problem. Company was sold last year, and the new owners do not care or provide customer service. Spoke to former owner (you can't reach current owners). Promised to intervene and nothing happened. I am left saving to repair the damage. $100 job is now a $500 job because of them. I have spent almost $10,000 with this company and this is how I was treated. SAVE YOUR MONEY, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

if you want to feel violated make sure to use perry heating and cooling or any other of the big hvac players for repairs or a new system. there is no competition between these vendors. the price collusion is obvious if you know what is wrong with the unit. the "industry standard" is not to break out labor and parts which gives them the advantage of opaqueness that would not be tolerated in any other service industry like this, think car repair. my repair for example was replacement of a condenser motor for a 2.5 ton rheem 14 seer unit. the cost of part was $200 which i was able to find doing extensive research on internet. my final bill from perry heating and cooling was $1,100 (including $90 service fee). you can do the math. i asked for a breakdown of labor/parts but they were able to hide behind "industry standard" how did this particular industry become exempt from accountability? i also requested a part number /brand/warranty info on replacement part which they have failed to provide. in tucson an air conditioner is not a luxury but a necessity. these big hvac vendors have made their own rules to the detriment of the consumer. if the consumer would demand accountability these folks would no longer be able to hide behind "industry standard" you have a choice as a consumer. demand a breakdown and you will see who is honest.

Very good and very reliable, been using them for 15 years, well trained and I will keep on using them.

We have two heating/cooling units and each were about 30 years old. We had another company come out to service them and were told that they should be replaced. Thus began the search for a company to do the work. We got several bids, and once we got over the sticker shock, we called Perry. Perry's technician/salesman told us that the old units could, in fact, be serviced and we could continue to use them for awhile; however, we decided against this move because of their age and their inefficiency. We were offered several options at several prices and found them reasonable when compared to the other bids we received. Before we committed, we did an internet search and chose the units we felt were best for us. As the day for installation grew closer, we received a few phone calls and they determined that they would need to bring in a crane to place the units, but there was no extra charge for this. In addition, they removed a cooler that hadn't been used in years, and they fixed the duct work where it had been. You can't even tell we ever had an evaporative cooler. There was no extra charge for this, either. Once the units were installed the technician showed us how to work the new thermostats and set up the app on our phones. We have been delighted ever since. We are now cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Our bills have gone down and the systems are very quiet. Many of our friends have some kind of horror story about air conditioning, and ours is a fairy tale by comparison. We recommend Perry Heating and Cooling to everyone and will continue to do so.

The price was fine. I think they called me. I would use their service again.

They did a very good job. I had 5 estimates and they had the best price. It has been a week but everything seems to be working fine at this point.

They did a diagnostic, and fixed it; then had to come out again. They've been great about coming out and fixing any issues that come up. They're very knowledgeable and friendly, and answered our questions and offered suggestions. Their price was very reasonable too. We would recommend them to anyone.

They've done good work but I've been disappointed at the lack of followup when it was too late.

A technician from Perry?s did a routine furnace check on Dec 1 and had an offer to get 30% off other services if we bought their 2-yr contract for routine checks.  We bought the contract because we needed the air ducts cleaned because there was a smell of burning dust whenever the furnace went on each morning and I was having trouble breathing from the bad air.  The technician came back on Dec 8 and supposedly cleaned the ducts.  <br /> However, for the past 2 weeks after the ?cleaning,? the burning dust smell has been worse and I have been miserable with watery eyes, runny nose, swollen face, and hard breathing every morning when the furnace goes on.  When I complained to Perry?s initially, they sent someone else out who adjusted the furnace fan and temperature downward.  Not only did the furnace adjustment NOT help my breathing, but it also caused another problem.  In changing the temperature, the technician must have turned off the gas momentarily or something, because that evening we had no hot water.  It turned out that our gas water heater was on, but the pilot was not lit, so it wouldn?t heat. <br /> Because the second tech?s ?solution? didn?t work, I called another duct cleaning company recommended on Angie?s List to find out if it was normal for the air to be worse after "cleaning"    The other company told me that when each duct is being cleaned the other vents should be sealed off with cardboard or plastic so that the vacuum would be strong and pull out the loosened dust.  The technician from Perry?s hadn?t sealed off the other vents when he cleaned one, so the cleaning was not really ?vacuum.? All it did was loosen the dust so that it blew around more AFTER than before the ?cleaning? whenever the furnace went on, rather than having strong suction remove the dust during cleaning. When I called Perry's to complain again and asked why the technician didn?t close off the other vents, they told me they don?t do that and that I should have asked before they did the service.  How was I supposed to know to ask? <br /> Now I am stuck with a 2-yr contract with a company I distrust and must hire a better duct cleaner to do the job all over again, so that I can breathe.  <br />

It went excellent.  The first technician took a look at the situation.  He agreed that it could have been installed better by them originally and he would write up a work order for the crew to come and fix it.  The crew came two days later and did a very thorough and clean job.  They did a little extra to help it from happening again.  They profess to have a happy customer policy and they lived up to that for sure after 21/2 years. I will call them for any other work I ever need.     <br />
