Personal Touch Home Repairs performed good work during the first three phases of our project. We could not reach an agreement on how to proceed with the final phase, and so we hired someone else to complete the project.

Quality of work is superb - bathroom in particular looks fabulous? Guys are very polite, considerate to the living areas and not too messy? Time to complete was a little longer than expected?

We had a really good experience working with Trace and his team. We called for an estimate for light remodel of our 8 x 10 second bathroom. It was a busy time of year right before the holidays but Trace was able to come out for an estimate the next day. He was very friendly and professional, and listened through our goals for the project, affirming our choices and offering a few small suggestions. Originally he suggested he would have a difficult time getting the job done before the holidays, but I was really appreciative that he put two of his team, Robert and Matt, on the job. The estimate included installation of a new sink and vanity, new linoleum floor, replacing shower valve and fixtures (including a new access panel in the wall), moving sink supply lines behind the wall, and fixing up the trim. We felt the price was very reasonable and agreed to have the work done the following Saturday.
Robert and Matt arrived on time and put in a long day's work to complete our job. They were respectful of our home and the fact that we were around as they were doing the work. We felt they communicated clearly about their progress. They hit one snag along the way but dealt with it quickly and smoothly.
We had three small issues when the job was complete. The process of laying the new floor left quite a bit of glue residue around the edges of the bathroom, on the tub, etc. Robert was apologetic but in the end I had to tackle the cleanup. Nothing a bottle of Goo Gone and a sponge couldn't do, but a very small irritation. The other issues were dealt with very quickly and to our full satisfaction. The new showerhead had to be tightened a little more to tackle a small leak and we had a small leak at the gasket on the new sink that needed to be tightened up. The showerhead issue was especially understandable: I had agreed to re-set the toilet and it was sitting in the shower as the work was done; so Robert could not test the showerhead before he left. The sink business was minor but probably could have been observed if they watched it run a little longer. Fortunately we caught it quickly and there was so damage to the new sink cabinet. I am fully confident that if there had a been a bigger issue, Trace would have done anything to make it right by us. He is clearly and justifiably proud of his reputation and of the guys he hires.
We would certainly work with Trace and his team again.
The process went extremely well and both bathrooms turned out beautifully. Both bathrooms have been transformed from 80's style fiber glass tub/showers to modern and very attractive walk-in showers. One bathroom is entirely natural slate for the shower walls, shower floor, and bathroom floor. I learnt that slate is a very complicated material to work with, requiring a very skilled tradesman which is who did the work. All visitors have commented on how nice both bathrooms look. The workers were very careful, courteous, easy to work with and on the job everyday. They routinely asked for our input on all aspects of the design details. We are very pleased with the project.

Personal Touch installed new kitchen appliances and upgraded our kitchen cabinets. The upgrade made a great improvement in our kitchen. Trace built an enclosure around the refrigerator, installed pull out drawers, a much improved garbage drawer and drawer inserts. We found Trace to be an excellent craftsman who took pride in his work.

I wouldn't hire them again. The guy is really nice but I think he has just got too much on his plate. He is hard to get a hold of. They would always come on time. They are all very nice. He is doing too much at once.

"PRICE: This customer purchased an AngiesList deal, so he knew the price going in. In addition, I quoted and re quoted more work on the same project, so he knew exactly what each item would cost. He had every opportunity to discuss price if he felt the need. Hmmmm QUALITY: It is ironic that the same time he was writing this review his wife was telling me what a beautiful job we had done and how happy she was with the work. Said her bathroom never looked do good. Hmmmm. RESPONSIVENESS: I always returned his phone calls promptly. The only time there was a lapse in communication is when I responded to one of his emails and he never checked his email for my response. PUNCTUALITY: He gives me a B but in his comments he says that we were always on time. Hmmm. PROFESSIONALISM: He wouldn't hire me again, but he gave me an A. Go figure."

We had a fantastic experience with Trace. When I contacted him, I made clear that we had been burned by a different contractor in the past, and were understandably nervous. He was understanding and talked frankly about what we were looking at water damage. He came by, and provided a quote. He opted to write in allowances for what he thought the water damage would run, and also an allowance for a shower door. We provided grout and tile, and he gave guidance on our choices. Him being able to guesstimate the damage really helped us budget. Every other company was vague, and couldn't tell me if it might be hundreds or thousands. Yes, he had other people perform different aspects of the work, but he frequently checked in by phone, and in person. He was never once late, nor was his tile guy. Everyone arrived on time, and the project was finished in the promised timeframe. It turns out that we had no water damage, and when I paid the final balance, it reflected that there was none. So, in the end, I even paid less than his quote. To me, I was impressed with the honesty. The shower looks amazing! I plan to use Trace in the future. Great experience all around.
The estimator was very punctual, knowledgeable and patient. He listened to what I wanted to do and provided an estimate for 2 different options.
Unfortunately I received his name through a third party online-not Angie's list -and they never sent me his estimate. When I contacted him 2 weeks later, he told me he had sent it to the third party for them to get to me. When it had not arrived a week later, he emailed me his estimate. I have never heard from the third party.
The estimate was thorough and but the price was a bit high. I could not afford do the updates at that time.
I was considering an Angie's list offer which expired during the time of this estimate.
The A-list offer would remodel for 5 K but there may have been costs added to the Alist offer that were included in the Personal
Touch offer.
I felt like the company would do a very good job based on the knowledge and professionalism of the estimator/owner.

I am very pleased with the quality of the installations and upgrades. I was impressed with the professionalism of this company, from the owner to the subcontractors for tiling or electrical changes. They were a well coordinated team - and thus they got the job completed efficiently. There was no pressure to install or upgrade beyond one's means. Rather they assisted with making the options (pros and cons) understandable and then together we decided on the final approach. Everything looks very professional.

I contracted to have a gas stove installed to replace an electric stove. The quote was acceptable and Trace arrived promptly and began work. He reviewed the area and identified the location for the stove was not level and provided a few options to correct it. He began to make correction to the top of my counter. He provided a number of items I was not aware of putting a gas stove in. This saved me a great deal of time getting everything done at the same time. The electrical, and gas connections to code.. When everything was in place he came in and completed the connection and leveling of the stove. Great job.

Trace extended my wall cabinet from a smaller oven unit to enough space for a double oven. He did a great job and was very detailed ensuring the oven was installed properly. It took only a couple of hours to do the woodwork and installation. On time and reliable. I have also used him on past kitchen sink installation and cooktop installation. I would refer him and call on him again for other projects.

Trace was very professional and promptly responded to calls/emails. One of the hoses on the new faucet had a problem which came up after the job was complete. Trace immediately came over to fix it when we called him. We are very pleased with the job.
