Horrible company - Checks cashed no services provided. They did not provide service (2 inches snow fall). I contacted company through email, over phone conversations (2 times),and left voice mail. Peter/Company gave no indication or communication that services would not be provided, yet all check payments have been cashed. When employee did answer the phone, I was told the account would be audited. It's been 3 months.

Horrendous service. We were always the last ones plowed. They never came until 24 hours after it snowed. They never responded to emails or phone calls. Their driver caused damage to my property in December. It is now June and I am still waiting for them to finish the repairs.

The snow removal was done in a timely fashion but large pieces of sod were rolled up from the side of the driveway and parking area.  When I called to have someone from the company to stop out (they are only 1/2 mile from my house.) they said since no stakes were installed to mark the edges that they were not responsible and no one would be coming out. Granted, the contract states that but I would think someone could at least stop by to sympathize and offer a suggestion on how I could repair the damage. They are in the business of lawn care and a visit would keep them in my good graces and prevent me from giving them a bad review. <br />

The first year it was great, last year I had to call a couple times to remind them at the beginning of the year but

I signed up for the monthly package. Which included lawn care, fertilizing and weed control , fall clean up, gutter cleaning and snow removal. Very careless, sloppy work. The main concern appeared to be saving time. My lawn had skid marks from the mower turning. Didn't even clear the leaves before the final fertilizer! And the leaves were wet - that's when I cancelled.

Not well. Poor billing accuracy, poor at following instructions, poor at communicating arrival days and times. <br />

I couldn't be happier with the services that Peter Doran Lawn & Landscaping has done so far.  Peter called me himself to discuss the type of services his company performed.  He didn't let me down.  He has done everything that we agreed upon.  They are prompt, very professional and most importantly they clean up after themselves.   <br />      My yard is beautiful!  Absolutely beautiful!  Plush, green and not a weed around.  Peter has a very happy customer here! <br />

Provider missed plowing about one-quarter of the time. Provider NEVER responded to multiple phone calls and emails. When driveway was plowed, scattered ridges of snow were left in driveway. <br />

Each time they started out ok, we paid to have our driveway and walkways plowers.  this past year we rarely got any service without having to call and they missed the walkways nearly every time.  Response was slow or non existent, and they never adjusted our bill for the items they missed completely. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and hired them again, but we are done. <br />

Biweekly lawn mowing was performed. The provider did not bag the mulched grass. This was not part of service, where as all the other similar service providers did bag the mulch. I felt I could mow the lawn better than this company. You really had to specify every detail and only then they would do it. For example weeds growing close to the wall of the house was never attended to, although it clearly visible and reachable, There were days when I would come home and see cut grass on my walkway and driveway. It was not blown cleanly. May be he forgot to do it that day. I prefer professionalism, and this company would get a 5-6 out of 10. I was hoping I could get a break this season from lawn mowing, but given their performance, I had to step in and cut the grass myself. Will not renew the contract. <br />

Inconsistent service.  At least twice had to contact them as no one had showed up in 24 hrs.  They did respond fairly quickly by email, but one time (Christmas) it took two or three emails before someone came, they kept promising someone would show up shortly. I can understand holidays are hard to staff and people get sick, but I would prefer a system where they are verifying work is being done, they have back up workers and people are working, rather than excuses.  I have had worse luck with some of their competitors so they seem to be the best that I have found so far, but there is certainly room for improvement.  Unsure how the 1" is calculated since several storms were more than 1" in my neighborhood but shoveling was not done. <br />

It looked great! It was about $350 for three months. We moved which is why we discontinued service.

Initially all went well, shrubs died and they replaced them. After two winters the limestone boulders started to deteriorate. I called numerous times asking if someone could come to my home and address the issue and was told I'd receive a call back. To this day no one has retuned my call. Terrible customer service. <br /> <br />

Process for bidding went well. We delayed start of services this spring due to spring hardscape work. I called in late June and they immediately came out and did 1st lawn application. I called within 2 weeks as the weed control product did not fully take and the technician did not leave an invoice or any other paperwork for the visit. Needed them back out for a 2nd weed application. I was told we would receive a monthly statement bill in August and he'd inform technician about the weed issue. No one came. No one called. We ended up weeding by hand just to get thistle under control and give our dogs an area to play. Called again, got answering machine and left a message. No call, no service. Called the following week, got the machine again, so left message...no call and still no service. Called expressing disatisfaction via another voice message. No one answers the phone - doesn't matter what time 9am, 10 am, noon, 4:30pm...continually get the answering machine/system. Called one last time leaving a message expressing disatisfaction, let them know we finally got our bill and I'd pay it, terminate service and review the company. So disappointed. Chose them based on the great job they appear to do for our neighbor next door (note neighbor has contracted more services). We had planned to expand our services, and changed our minds after the company failed on the initial services. Not sure if the company took on too many clients this year or if they have a staffing problem. I do know it's not professional to not address your customers messages, concerns and lack of needed services. Sad part is if they had said, "Mam, we'll have to charge you for additional visits in between regular service." I would have authorized and paid just to get the weeds under control and help establish new grass areas. Today, after I left that final voicemail, I wrote a letter to Peter Doran terminating services with explanation, and mailed the letter and payment to them for my 1 and only visit this summer. Now I'm looking for a new yard services company, and in meantime hand weeding (as we don't want to use a chemical on the yard that could affect/interact with the ones company's use for weed control or fertilization). <br />

The lawn is always edged and weed-whacked, and they get right up close to things like inset flower beds.  I have on occasion when the grass is very long had grass left on the lawn, but that's not a huge deal to me. <br /> Their plowing is good, if I'm home when they come, the driver will clear behind my car, then I will back out and he will clear the entire driveway right up to the garage door.  If I'm not home, he still clears as close to my car as possible and the whole width of the driveway.  I've never asked nor expected them to come back after the city plows go by,   If one time my car was there and the next time I'm home he'll make sure to get all the snow he couldn't get to before. <br />

The person assigned to our lawn gave very poor service. <br /> The first time he cut the lawn it was at such an inconsistent height that the lawn looked horrible. He also did not trim the edges and left clippings on our gardens. Peter was responsive and came out the same day to review and was back in the next few days to fix it.  <br /> The quality of the service however did not improve. We called a second time a few times later because again the work was not up to standard with a lack of trimming. Again, someone came out to fix.  <br /> When the fertilizer and weed control was put on we could see that the driveway had been crossed multiple times and there was product on the driveway. Considering we have kids and a dog it was unsafe for our family.  <br /> After that we stopped calling and just resigned ourselves to the lawn not looking good for that season. While Peter was responsive every time we called our expectations are that someone would do quality work the first time and that if the company knew there had been issues they would come and monitor them themselves.  <br /> We would never recommend them to anyone.  <br /> <br />

My husband and I moved out of state while our house sale was pending.  The sale fell through in December, and we were no longer there to maintain the driveway.  As the showings were scheduled again, we needed to ensure the driveway would be clean for potential buyers.  We thought we had more time, but a big snowfall was coming (again) the day before we had a bunch of showings scheduled. I called, in a slight panic, to schedule them.  They guaranteed they would come out that day in addition to our 'any 2" snowfall' contract.   They were very responsive and polite (even though it was a Saturday!) and the price was very reasonable.  When we were back in town a few weeks later, we stopped at the house and were pleased to see the driveway still completely plowed.  The house has now sold (thankfully) and the buyers were quite excited to know their snow removal is taken care of for another month! <br />

It has not gone well.  I have been very disappointed with the level of service from Peter Doran Lawn Service.  The walks are not shoveled very well and are actually only shoveled to about the width of the shovel.  They have never come back a second time to remove the snow drifts left by the plows as promised.  We had 4 to 6" of new snow yesterday and here it is 32 hours later and no sign of them.  I do know they plowed our driveway yesterday but that was all.  The snow plows have been by and left huge drifts at the end of the driveway which we removed ourselves so we could get in and out of our driveway.  I want my money back as I am not receiving the service I paid for.  <br /> The irritating part about this is I gave this snow removal service to my overworked husband for a Christmas present so he wouldn't have to worry about snow removal in the morning or when he comes home from work.  Now I feel like I let him down and still owe him a present.  He's out there now doing the job we PAID Peter Doran Lawn Service to do.  There's more snow expected in two days...I'm not holding my breath. <br />

It got off to a rocky start. I had sent in the contract and my money mid Fall and when the first snowfall occurred they were a no show. So, I called and they eventually got someone out the next day. Okay, I thought, I am a new contract. I must have gotten lost in the shuffle. <br /> On the second snow fall, it was a heavy one over 1/2 foot, it took them 9 hours after the snow stopped to show up and plow my driveway. In essence I was stuck in my home until they arrived which was most of the day. I just didn't find this acceptable.  At the very most 6 hours after the snow stops, and even that is too long. The previous company that plowed my driveway would show up during a heavy snow storm and clear my driveway, and if it kept snowing they returned afterward to clear it again. And this hasn't improved. On average it is taking over 9 hours. On one occasion over 12 hours. <br /> I can understand that being a fixed price contract they cannot just keep coming to my house multiple times for a single snow fall, but I cannot agree that this means I sit in my house over 9+ hours before they show up and clear a heavy snow fall that my car cannot get through. <br /> Another complaint, and this is just about the nature of the contract, is that I signed up for 2" service. Which I thought meant that when I had 2" or more of snow in my driveway that they would come and plow. I was wrong. What I was told was that a single snow storm "event" (their word) has to be 2" or more. So, if it snows less than 2" on multiple occasions in a row and I end up with 4,5 or even 6 inches of snow in my driveway they will not plow it under my contract. <br /> My final complaint is they just aren't doing a quality job. They don't make an effort to get close to the garage to clear it. I understand they don't wanna damage my door, but these guys have hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of experience. You are telling me they can't get closer than three feet? Also, they just don't clear it from side to side. Every time they show up I have to go out with my shovel and shovel down each side of the driveway. If I didn't do this over time my driveway would narrow in size. I don't pay someone to plow my driveway so that I have to come home, or get up in the morning, and shovel it. <br /> In the end I am just not getting the kind of service I expect for the money I am paying. I will be switching to another service for next winter. <br /> <br /> Update: I had my asphalt guy out to see if my driveway needed a coating this year and he informed me that there are large gashes in my driveway from a plow truck dropping its plow. Great. I lowered my quality rating to a C.

Over all it was fine. <br />
