Petro Oil is one of the worst companies I?ve dealt with. In less than ONE MONTH as a customer, they delivered oil THREE times and charged outrageously high prices. Over $3000 in less than a month. They try to upsell unnecessary services and use scare tactics, saying it will ?cost more? if they have to come back. Completely unprofessional. Customer service is dismissive and unhelpful, and the technicians are always late with zero respect for your time. Overpriced, pushy, and poorly managed. Do yourself a favor and go with another company.

Had petro for years they were ok, we ran into trouble with covet been out of commission for months no money coming in would call they r heartless people were taking us to court we had to make a deal and pay $300 a month for a year with of course no oil, they didn’t care at all, be kind in this world not them iam 82 and fixed income tried to lower the payment but it was no! Terrible workers to!

We were loyal customers of PETRO for 26 years, but they've lost their way. Charging for services they never provided, charging for services under contract using dishonest practices, technicians that are outright rude and less knowledgeable about their jobs than they profess to be. If you're thinking of using PETRO for anything, don't. There are plenty of good companies willing to put the customer first without signing up for PETRO. I'd give them a zero but they only go down to a 1. And come to find out, they're not even listed with the BBB - that tells you all you need to know.

Rick (Tech #43) has done service in my home several times. Always punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, and very competent. I always know that if there's a problem, Rick will either fix it, or tell me what i should do. Very happy with his service.

Our heater stopped functioning on Nov 27, 2023 and we called Petro who had done the maintenance on it before and replaced a motor two years ago. They were responsive and a technician came two days later. He worked for 3 hours without explaining what the problem was. Then said he needed to replace the motor. He fixed the problem and left without much explanation. Two days later a bill of $2500 came via email. No explanation, no break-down. I called 4 times over the last 20 days, spoke to 4 different reps and was promised that a supervisor will contact me with the bill details. Nothing happened. Irresponsible customer service and unprofessional behavior. They show all the symptoms of big, bureaucratic, and indifferent service company. I would not recommend Petro if you have options of more personalized services.

My 18 yo heat pump died and I had to replace it. While this heat pump lasted 18 years, it was a constant headache due to the incompetent installer. So I was very careful to select a competent HVAC company. I went with Petro as they have served me well for the last 25+ years. I have oil heat as a backup, but before I installed the first heat pump system it was the main heat source, serviced by AP Woodson and then Petro after they acquired AP Woodson. Their team was excellent, starting with the estimator, Mark Londer. The in-house crew that installed my Trane system was knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and friendly. The new system started running immediately and has run flawlessly in both AC and heat modes. I want to thank Petro for their years of support and service and for the successful installation of my new heat pump system.

I was in need of an oil and propane supplier. I had just moved to the area. Kelly Bachur had sent a letter to our residence, after we moved in. I have spoken with her multiple times, and she is always patient with all of my questions and has assisted me numerous times already. She is quick to respond, both by telephone and email. I highly recommend Petro for all of their services. Thank you for everything you have done for me Kelly!

Brand new unit Trane AC failed after less than 30 days installment . Given 3 different service times with a no show from service technicians . Very poor service . Would not recommend.

The Annual Oil Burner Efficiency Tune Up went extremely well. The technician, ViCosta, was on-time and had a great attitude, explaining the aspects of preventative maintenance.

Petro, aka Burke Energy, aka Sclafani Energy, preys on senior citizens, sending them fraudulent bills, and then refusing to correct their obvious errors. Then they engage in a campaign of harassment to collect their billing fraud. DON'T USE THEM!

Mechanic that came out spent hours working on a gas furnace and had no idea what the problem was. Called the office repeatedly complaining about his inability to repair. Spent 4-6 hours over the course of 2 days and never repaired it. Had to call someone else that had it fixed in 2 hours. They still insist on me paying for their "repairman's" time. Oil burners they are great, gas furnace they don't know what they are looking at.

Worst service I’ve ever have experienced. They wanted to sell me the product, never told me that there was an early termination fee and another penalty for an initial offer they gave me. Had double charges every month, once for the oil they provided (which they never told me they were going to provide before coming. They just came without my knowledge and then I find a high amount bill) and another for an “automatic payment” for 500 that they never could explain. The didn’t even fix this issue and it kept happening every month even after I cancelled the service. Then having to call them is a hastié for the refund of the 500. Stay away of this company

I have been a satisfied customer for over 20 years.

CAUTION PETRO is unprofessional and untrustworthy. If it was possible I would provide 0 stars. We have been a customer of Petro for 15 yrs, buying thousands of dollars of equipment (new boiler in '14) & oil from them with satisfaction. This all changes in June'21 when we signed a contract to have a new AC unit installed. After 2.5 months the unit arrived in Sept'21 therefore we did not allow for an install until spring'22 for good reason of a unit not being used or tested for 6+monts in NY. Petro sent a tech to our home at 7 am without an appointment in Oct'21, we denied install again until spring'22. Then in Jan'22 we received an invoice with interest for the unit that has not been installed. After several phone calls this was fixed. Finally on April 4, 2022 we have the unit fully installed and paid in full. The first hot stretch of weather (7/21) our unit begins to drip from the front of our entry (outside) starts blowing hot air and stops cooling. Petro comes and "corrects" the issue and we have AC until the following night when we are awaken at 1am to dripping water in our entryway from the attic where our unit is installed. Petro comes and admits they improperly installed the unit (improperly pitched) and therefore the safety failed and the secondary pan overflowed into our walls, entryway floor, and attic. Why this was seen as a potential issue on 7/21 is remarkable. On 7/23 a secondary line is ran to allow us to have AC but the unit needs to be properly reinstalled. It has been 2 wks. and we have mold growing by the minute in our attic which we are breathing. Petro's attempt to correct this was to have an internal resource who does some construction correct a potentially toxic issue which we refused as we need this professionally repaired and corrected. We have not heard from Petro to repair our walls and ceiling, remediate any mold we are breathing, or properly install the unit they installed improperly that created this nightmare. We trusted Petro and their service professionals to do a proper install which has been nothing but a nightmare. I would advise you find another company who can adhere to their agreements.

Very well...checked furnace and air conditioning

I have waited over 5 months to write this review in order to give Petro the opportunity to fix the numerous problems with no luck. I've spent 16,000 dollars on ductless systems that do not work. They do not blow cold nor hot air. In addition the big unit outside is already causing the wood on my property to warp that its attached to. I have been getting the run around for 5 months. Finally when a manager calls me, he says that i am giving an attitude while raising his voice at me. Yes, maybe I am a little irked that nothing works. This has been my second largest purchase of my life besides for my house, and all the equipment are lemons. This experience would not be as bad if the managers in Baltimore did the right thing and taken the steps resolved the issues on the multiple times I've called. I have made over a dozen calls for numerous different problems. I have a new born baby at home in which I bought these units for, and she has not been able to enjoy them since installation 5 months ago! I am deeply hurt would not recommend to family and friends.Thank you.

They tried to say the whistle pipe wasn’t connected to the tank so we got a plumber to connect it, then when they came back they checked said everything was ok then never filled the tank.

they are very responsive, I never out of oil. They leave my bill on my mailbox. And if I ever have a problem on my burner they come right away to fix it. They're very good at service if I wanted a quote for my oil tank he will call and came the next day. I cant complain on their speedy service.
