It went fine. There were extra charges but it was negotiated with the vendor because they did extra work.

P&G is like most normal contractors you are buying their time even though they quote a job. If something is horribly wrong and you pointed it out they would fix it, but there just wasn't the A quality I thought I'd get from a professional painter. They try to do a good job but they are on the clock and they have to be "done" when they run out of their alloted time. I feel where we went wrong with P&G is we did not emphasize that we wanted everything done right. This seems obvious to us, but most people just want the best price. If you win the quote you get work. But when I hire someone to do something I can do myself I expect professional quality inherently. However, you will find this with MOST contractors out there. So even thought he below sounds bad I would say P&G is still a good average contractor.
- They didn't use tape on anything they thought you wouldn't see. They lied to me when I found paint on our window boxes and said it was already there. Except the boxes were new so they'd never been painted by. Only when I told them this did they admit they took shortcuts.
- They would say things like "we need to caulk this corner" but then they never did.
- I heard about how ugly everything in our house was as an excuse for why they were doing a bad job. I thought that is what home improvements are for.
- Lastly, the owner made an excuse for leaving early the last day. He was wearing a college teams shirt and I know their game was starting soon cause he kept checking his watch. He left with out finishing his touchups to the woodwork etc and said he was going to visit a friend in the hospital. I'm not really sure why he was at our house working if this friend was in bad condition or why he suddenly had to leave right before the game.

They were punctual, professional and once the job began they continued working until it was complete. They do minor outdoor repair and fix-up that has to do with painting. they do not do other exterior work. They were very competitive in their pricing - lower than some we had checked .

I have recommended them to others

Overall, the job went well. The vast majority of the job was performed by a single painter. This certainly contributed to the job taking a full week, However, using a single painter likely also contributed to P & G Painting, Inc. being the lowest estimate we received.
The painter performed a tremendous amount of prep work. I believe he spent two days going around the house filling in gaps and joints with caulking. When the painting began the painter was a little less than careful. There were some missed spots and thin coverage on others. Every time we mentioned a concern to the owner he was quick to fix issue. Phil was very easy to work with and seemed genuinely eager to do a good job.
I learned from a neighbor the siding on our home had been bare to the elements for many years before we bought the house. I believe Phil had to come back and touch up spots three or four times before the paint would adhere properly. He was very courteous and willing every time.
The finished job looks great. There were no surprise charges when the job was complete. During the job a couple of additional gallons of paint were needed. We also chose to upgrade to a slightly better grade of exterior paint. Our final bill was the estimated price plus the extras we authorized.
I would recommend P & G Painting, Inc. to anyone needing painting services. They were the lowest estimate we received out of four. Phil was great to work with.

Skimmed and sanded the area without covering carpeting or furniture. ( walls had few defects) Sanding dust was everywhere. Fabric furniture was in bad shape and very difficult to clean. Carpet had to be professionally cleaned.
Had a few wall defects which were not fixed. Picture hanging nails were not removed from wall.
Final color of paint dried much lighter than the sample we choose.
The painter doing the work was prompt and stayed with the job but I feel the job was very overpriced for the quality.
Paint has worn well.

They did a good job, and the guys were nice. Phil, the owner was onsite most days, or reachable by email or phone if I had a question. If I noticed something that was not to my standards, I simply had to mention it and Phil had the guys redo it. I would hire them again.
Phil Roney was very responsive and professional, always on time and did what he said he would do. I received 3 estimates to paint the exterior of my 10-year old home and to re-stain the deck. The estimates varied from $2500 to $7000! Phil's crew was very good and fast, they paid attention to detail and they cleaned up after themselves each day. When I saw a couple spots I thought needed a bit more caulking, they did it right away without complaint. They even hung new outdoor lights for me. I am very picky so it's not easy to meet my expectations. Phil and his crew more than met my expectations and I was very pleased with the end result.

We hired P&G to repaint the interior of our house. My wife and I both work full time jobs thus we were not able to hound the crew and it showed. Work began on schedule and the first several days were promising. It became apparent in the 2nd week of the job that quality was beginning to diminish, as was quantity. The job took almost twice as long as stated.

Without going into excessive detail here are the negatives:

-Did not protect our brand new hardwood floors resulting in paint being spilt on the floors and several dents. My expectation was for every inch of hardwood to be covered, especially as the ceilings were being painted.

-Did poor job prepping the trim and surfaces for paint, simply slapped paint over loose chips or blobs of joint compound in some areas.

-Finish was not that of a professional paint crew.
The job went well. Completed on time. One door was not repaired. This was missed in the initial walk through and again on the job completion. I wish it had been brought up, so we could have added it to the job. But they did several additional touch-up items for no additional cost.
The house painting went very well. The crew were professional and pleasant to work with. The guys answered my questions and responded well to my requests. They cleaned up after the job and left the yard as it was before they started.
I had contacted the company about painting the house in late September and I was told that the job would be done in mid October when it could be fit into the schedule. I called the company toward the end of October because I had not heard from anyone there. They assured me the work would be done within the next 10 days. The job did not get started until after the 15th of November, long after I thought anyone would show up.
I have no complaint with the work that was done, it is a well done paint job on my home. The only complaint I have is a lack of communication as to when the job would be done.
I left a message on Phil's answering machine and my call was returned the next day. He was very personable and professional when we talked and we set up a time that he would come out to see what work I needed done the following day. He showed up promptly for all appointments and listened when I explained the work I wanted done. He explained exactly what he was going to do and answered all the questions I had. He even offered to fix items like my siding that was out of place and the broken screen on my window. He provided paint samples for me to choose from when I was unsure of what I wanted. His crew was very nice and respectful and cleaned up all messes that were made before they stopped work for the day. Phil even worked around my roofing crew who had to re-schedule because of rain delays. When they were almost done with my house, i asked Phil if he would paint the trim on my shed so it would match the house. He said that wouldn't be a problem, and completed it that same day. After the work was done, I noticed one of my shutters was hung upside- down. Phil came back immediately and fixed it and even painted the chipped vents on my roof. Great company, great customer service, and great work.! P&G painting was the lowest estimate I received for the work I wanted done on my house, but I feel I received way more than my money's worth! Thanks for the excellent work!
Five of the 6 ratings listed above were A+. The quality was still very good, they just needed to come back and touch up some things. Even w/ that, they did it with a smile on their face. The job wasn't perfect, but we didn't need perfect for the rooms they were painting. And the price was very fair. For the simple job of painting 2 rooms, our quotes ranged $300 - $1250. Isn't that last figure crazy?!

P&G consistently does a good job at a fair price. They spend a good amount of time in prep so that the job is done well. I was very happy with the result, and would use them again. They've painted both the inside and outside of this and a previous home.

Very happy with services. A large crew was provided and the entire job was complete in 2 days. The crew arrived on time and cleaned up their mess. I'd definitely recommend to others.
