Phalan Construction & The Handyman

Cold air was leaking in under the doors of our 19th century front door threshold. Mr. Phalan devised a way to seal the leaky areas without marring the solid wood doors. He was communicative about scheduling, costs, timing and offers multiple solutions to tackle the problem. He also installed study closet shelves in 2 areas. We are definitely pleased with Phalan Construction and will be calling Bob again!

Bob has done work in my condo and a rental condo over the past five years. Recently he installed a new bathroom vanity and repainted a bedroom. Bob always shows up on time, is easy to communicate with and has excellent suggestions on how to proceed with the project at hand. I highly recommend hiring Bob.

Having used his services for many years now, we highly recommend handyman Bob Phalan. Our projects this year alone have involved repairing cracked cement on our front steps, patching roof and gutter leaks, power washing, gutter cleaning, and laying brick trim in the garden. We’ve also used him for several carpentry projects, installing locks, painting and general repairs. Bob is very reliable and communicates well. He shows up when he says he will, does quality work and cleans up like he was never here. He is friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable about materials, tools and processes. Bottom line . . . he can do pretty much anything and do it well.

Bob installed pull-down attic stairs in my home. He did a terrific job. It's an old house, and when he ran into unexpected issues he resolved them expertly. He was happy to put in extra effort and time to get the job done.

I had Bob frame and install a fire rated food between my garage and house. It was a difficult job but he was professional and very knowledgeable. We hired Bob on the strong recommendation of some friends who have used him for years, and he did a variety of handyman projects for us: snaked cable through a wall, hung mirrors, installed pegboards, repaired an exterior door, installed bathroom towel bars, etc. Bob performed all tasks very professionally in a reasonable amount of time, and we were very satisfied with the results.

We recently hired Bob to tackle several different projects and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. Bob is a true professional who takes immense pride in doing things the right way—he doesn't cut a single corner. Corrected an Attic Ladder: The first handyman we hired made a dangerous mistake during installation. Bob diagnosed the issues, corrected the errors, and made the ladder completely safe and sturdy. Flawless Wall AC Removal: He removed an in-wall AC unit, then patched and painted the area inside and out. His drywall and exterior patching work is marvelous; you literally cannot tell there was ever an AC unit there. Plumbing & Tiling Repair: He successfully removed a frozen shower faucet and tiled a section of the bathroom wall that had been left exposed after water baseboard removal. He is incredibly honest and left us with all the remaining materials purchased for our job. I would highly recommend him for complex, detail-oriented projects where you need a perfect.

Bob is as good and thorough as you will find. He's done multiple jobs for us and consistently does an amazing job, no matter the task. He is always up for it and delivers and we thank him. He's our first phone call every time we need something done. I would say call him before anyone else or you're making a mistake.

We had a long list of repairs needed to our historic barn. Bob was excellent to work with. He helped me source replacement trim from a specialty lumber yard to match our existing trim. Bob repaired numerous areas of trim and shingle siding. The craftsmanship was excellent and I appreciated Bob’s approach. I would use him again for any of our future Projects.

Bob has successfully completed numerous small and medium sized projects for us including a significant amount of re-siding and insulating, painting, wood gutter repair and maintenance, painting, wood stair railings,exterior threshholds, screen door installation, bathroom fan installation and masonry window wells. We’ve had Bob help us with installing insulated ductwork through our attic to outside from 2 bathroom exhaust fans, install a sliding shower door, and install an attic exhaust vent through a side wall, and repair extensive rot on 3 bedroom window sills and connected rot repair under exterior wood siding. We are hiring him again!
