The finished product was excellent. They made it look like a brand new room. They sent out 3 men and they worked very hard. The only complaint was that I had to provide the materials, which was very confusing to me at the home improvement store, not knowing what half of the stuff was. The work was beautiful and they tried hard to contain the dust, and worked every day straight through.

It took me several months to get Phil scheduled and rescheduled, including a lot of chasing by me. When he came to do the job he was supposed to be accompanied by a second person, but was not. This limited the work he could do because 2 people were needed. Therefore, the job stretched out over a few days. During the work, my garage floor was covered in spots of plaster and paint. Inside the house there was drywall splatter and drops from the main bathroom across my entire kitchen and living room, up the stairs, down the hallway into the other room that needed work. No tarps were used throughout the house except on the stairs and in the rooms (but there was still significant clean up there because the tarps did not cover it all). The clean up was twice a day for a couple days and by me. He said he could clean up, but "would I rather pay him to do the work or clean up." The job was paid by time. In addition, there are lots of blue tape particles stuck in the ceiling paint along the wall line that leaves a blue tint to the walls in both rooms. There was also two gashes left in the bathroom wall (made by a box knife) that he did not tell me about. When I pointed it out, he said he must have done it when he fell off the ladder. He did put some putty in it right before he left. I am happy with the end product, both ceilings look good, but overall I felt he was not professional including the difficulties in getting him scheduled (3 months) adding in the clean up I had to do; the ranking is fair. I have used other contractors who took a lot of care in respecting my property and my time who did not cost a much as he did.

Terribly. After putting us off for over two months, we never heard from them again. We have requested a refund from Angie's list.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a contractor. It is so upsetting to me I really don't want to rehash it, but think you should know...Phil didn't finish his work, and left my house with drywall dust and slop EVERYWHERE, and tracked drywall all through the house and into my carpet ALL down the stairs. He didn't clean up his messes, didn't finish the job, didn't return our phone calls asking him to finish, took more than double the time he said it would take, gave me a receipt full of items not needed for my job and expected reimbursed. I had to hire someone else to finish his job. Phil likes to smoke, and needs smoke breaks and phone call breaks multiple times per day, on your dime. Phil brought a worker with him. My observations were that it seems more often than not only one worker works at a time. The other stands around just watching or is outside on break or on the phone. I have pictures I can will post of how he left things. I've never had someone be that unprofessional before. I question Angie's list after this experience. This deal was awful. The man I hired to fix Phils work said his 16 hr unfinished job should have been a 4 hour job.

I bought a package of 8 hours of labor for texture removal or repair. Contractor emailed me an said they wanted to come by and evaluate the job. I emailed them back that I didn't really need an evaluation just for someone to show up and scrap ceilings for 8 hours. My feeling was that if they performed a reasonable amount of work in the 8 hours I might hire them for other work. I own several properties and do hire a lot of work done. I provided them with several days I would be available and asked that they pick one. After a week or more the company called me on a Monday and said they had to come by for an evaluation because scraping is difficult. Now I have done a lot of drywall in my day and ceiling scrapping is very easy.....it can be time consuming but I could teach anyone to do it in 15 minutes. Never the less I said that they could come by on Wednesday because I was busy on Monday and tuesday. The person that called said in that case to call back Tuesday for an appointment. I said no, today is Monday just let me know what time you can be there Wednesday and I will be there. They set a time of 10 am. Not only did they no show but they have never called in the two weeks since to explain why they didn't show or to schedule a new appointment. My feeling is they were wanting to bait and switch for more money although in my mind $299 for 8 hours of labor although not a lot of money is not chicken feed either at $38 per hour. Probably have plenty of suckers lined up that when they are told how difficult something is don't know any better.

Know that this is for LABOR only. He will want to be reimbursed for any supplies he uses. He even wanted me to supply the tarps until I told him I thought that should be part of the tools of his trade. At first, it was a dream. They were on time, got the job done and got out in 3 hours. I told him he owed me an hour and he said for me to call him on it. If you should have this happen, have him come back the next day and spray (paint) your ceiling! It didn't work out that way for me though. Also, I didn't seem to mind the footprints (plaster) to the bathroom and to the kitchen sink because I was thrilled to have it done (not so, the second time). After I finished mopping floors, I looked at the room again and saw that there was a very visible seam down the middle of the room. However they took off the previous texture, they took off too much mud and exposed the tape. I immediately called Phil and he said he'd come right over and look. Then it got pushed back. 2 more days. On the 3rd push for another day, I pushed back since I had a schedule to adhere to, too. Phil couldn't find a helper this time so he came over on his own and scraped, patched, and wanted to come back and spray later. I told him to get it done. The texture isn't as nice as the first time.... uneven textures, gouges, and burrs. Plus, he tracked plaster all over my floors again where he (and I) didn't get the floors tarped. First off, I would think that the guys would have the decency to not walk on uncovered floors. Take off your shoes or get booties. Second, dump the left over plaster outside, not down the drain. And last, if something needs attention during the job, stop and fix it or at least draw attention to the homeowner prior to finishing the job. I felt that Phil was trying to excuse the seam away but I know about taping and mudding sheetrock. I get the impression he will go right over something that could be fixed with a little attention during the job process. Also, I had them leave the plastic up after because I planned on painting it and hoped to not have to tape again. Just tape again. The mess needs to be removed before you can paint the ceiling with any success. The price was great! It only took them 3 hours the first time. Then 3 days for him to come back and redo the whole process. I give Phil credit for trying to do the right thing but I'm not sure it was enough, for me. He was prompt and called very quickly at the first round. I hope that he will take time to provide attention to detail for the next person and do it right the first time. Overall, the ceiling is done and I'm the only one who's going to notice any problems with it. I do believe Phil intends to do the right thing but I'm not too sure about the quality though.

It was fine. All the cracks are coming back, but I don't know if that's their fault. Price is fair. Sure, I'll use them again.

Work was done well. It was blazing hot the week it was being done but it was done in an acceptable time. Materials were charged at cost and Phil had invoices to show the costs so there were no mark ups.

After much difficulty in reaching Phil, he finally came to my house to give a bid. He was many hours late as he was having car trouble. He called back with a bid of over $3,000. I told him I thought that was very high for 2 or 3 sheets of siding and a few hours of work, 4 hours were already paid for. I asked him to get the bid to me in writing so I could understand why we were so far off. He texted the numbers to me with no detail. I then emailed him and explained that I only wanted to spend the 4 hours that I paid for plus materials and gave him a shorter discription of work. He never replied. I checked back in with him several days later, still no reply. I then called and asked for a refund. It has been 3 weeks with no logical bid at all and very little response to calls, texts and emails. He said I would have to go through Angies's List for a refund.
