Working with Phoenix was a phenomenal experience. The best way I can sum it up is I finally found a contractor that cares about my house as much as I care about it. My only regret is I didn't find them sooner. I bought a 1960s house in NOVA that needed a lot of improvements. I've hired numerous contractors along the way. Most I didn't go back to a second time. When a storm damaged my front porch last winter, I contacted Phoenix. They exceeded my expectations. Now, Phoenix is the only company I will use, period. It is that simple. From the start, they were extremely professional and thorough. They provided design drawings to help me visualize, and were very attentive with exceptional communication ever step of the way. Clint, is amazing. I'm not sure if he ever sleeps or has a personal life, but I could contact him with questions on the project any time of day / any day of the week and he'd respond quickly. Clint and his team at Phoenix Home Services did a fabulous job building a portico and facing our front stairs in stone! In the planning stage, Clint was very open to my ideas and provided very detailed timelines each week. The workers were extremely respectful and accommodating. The finished project is amazing - the design of the portico is beautiful and the stonework is exceptional! We could not be happier with the work Phoenix did and would hands down recommend them to anyone.

We hired Phoenix Home Services for a major full-home renovation, and overall the experience and final result were very positive. The scope of work included reinforcing and replacing all flooring, knocking out walls to open up the layout, a full kitchen gut and remodel, a complete electrical panel upgrade, recessed lighting throughout the home, and finishing previously unfinished basement rooms. This was a complex project involving structural, electrical, and finish work, and Phoenix Home Services demonstrated strong construction knowledge and solid workmanship throughout. The flooring reinforcement and electrical upgrades were handled properly, and the finished spaces feel cohesive, functional, and well executed. The entire process with Phoenix Home Services went smoothly from start to finish. They redid our kitchen, two bathrooms, added recessed lighting, and took care of several other updates around the house. The team was well organized, showed up when they said they would, and kept us informed throughout the project. Any questions or concerns were addressed quickly, and the work progressed exactly as discussed. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and the project was handled professionally the whole way through.

I paid an $18,000 deposit to Phoenix Home Services for a kitchen renovation. That entire deposit was kept despite no construction work occurring. The only work performed consisted of two site visits and a permit submission. I was repeatedly pressured to sign the contract with assurances that the project would be adjusted to stay within that budget. After signing, I immediately identified that key requirements discussed during the initial visit were missing, and several allowances were inaccurate and would not have met the agreed budget. When I raised these issues, Clint was unwilling to revise the scope or allowances to reflect what was discussed. Despite canceling at a very early stage and requesting a reasonable partial refund to cover actual costs incurred, the owner, Steve Bowes, refused to return any portion of the deposit, citing contract language rather than the actual work performed.

Phoenix Home Services just finished their fourth major project on our home. We now have a wonderful front porch that is a dramatic improvement in the house look. We are already enjoying sitting out front and watching the world go by and interacting with the neighbors. The team working on the porch were great to have around. They were all completely professional, polite and very energetic. Clint, Steve and Brian were the main points of contact and at least one of them was at our home every morning to check progress and help with on-the-fly changes and adjustments. The rest of the team seemed more like a family than a work crew. We were completely comfortable leaving the garage open for them when we had to be away from the house. When the project was complete the area was thoroughly cleaned up and looked great. We also had several smaller interior pieces of work done with the primary porch project. They were completed with the same attention to detail as the outside work. We had done several previous home renovation projects and my only regret is that I did not have Phoenix Home Services on the first job. I would never have used another company nor will I for any future projects. Phoenix Home Services has our highest recommendation and confidence.

What we had hoped was going to be a concrete slab repair and carpet install turned into a total basement remodel (HVAC ducts in the slab abandoned, asbestos remediation, new HVAC duct work installed, framing/carpentry, drywall repair and finishing). We contacted Phoenix Home Services to take over this ever increasing endeavor. They managed the entire project, on budget and on time, and kept us updated throughout. When an issue arose…unexpected plumbing and electrical relocation…they brought it to our attention and were quick to determine the options, adjust their crew and keep moving forward. Their entire team was friendly, professional showed up at scheduled times and adjusted to accommodate our needs. At one point they were ahead of schedule, so we added re-screening our porch. Thank you Phoenix, Steve and the whole team for stepping in and stepping up to take this on. We could not be more pleased with the entire experience and quality in the final product.

We are three projects in with Phoenix and will do more when the budget allows. Cannot say enough great things about their vision and design for our extra large deck and enclosed patio directly below it. We took ‘go big or go home to heart.’ Had not planned on the enclosed patio below but when Clint sent us the mock-up designs we were all in. When I say all in, we did the Trex Signature cable rails with accent lights, straight walkout from upstairs (required a creative roof change), Trex Rain Escape, and custom Eze Breeze windows for the patio. Post completion we went back and asked for a flooring add, exterior walkway add and two more projects are pending our budget. Phoenix delivered as promised, showed up when promised, and stood behind their word. We always knew where we were with the timeline and someone either answered the phone or called us back whenever we reached out. The entire team works great together and their communication skills met every expectation we had. We really could not have asked for better. Highly recommend.

Clint, Steve and team were able to make a 12 year sunroom idea become reality. They were instrumental in helping us navigate through our special permitting process and the team was extremely professional during the construction period. We were provided weekly updates on project timing, which was quite helpful to set expectations. This is the third major project that Phoenix has completed at our home, and the results were equally as impressive as the others. The attention to detail and craftsmanship Phoenix brings to any project they take on is second to none, and it was needed to complete our patio and stairs. The deck portion of the project was complex and required the demolition of part of the existing concrete pad as well as en expansion of the previous footprint. The stairs required similar attention to detail to match the existing second story deck while preserving landscaping and mature azaleas that could not be replaced. Phoenix handled this task flawlessly while going above and beyond the original scope to make modifications that fit our needs and bring our vision to life. I would trust Phoenix to complete any project at our home, and we will certainly be calling them for our next project.

Phoenix Home Services was simply head and shoulders above every other contractor we spoke to. From the first meeting to discuss the project, Clint had a vision for what our new screened porch could be and a passion for delivering it with the highest quality. What did they do well? No cut corners, 100% honesty about what needed to be done to meet Code. Clint provided a highly detailed design/quote, including step by step what they would do, named all materials that would be used, timeline, payment schedule, and included several renderings. Craftsmanship - the finished product looks exactly like the design. They covered all the details and went above and beyond, like fixing our deck steps that were broken but beyond scope of the new room and hand-bullnosing the ledge of the knee wall. Brian, Bob, and Les, the master carpenter, all were great to work with. Communication was daily, with full updates weekly. We will definitely call Phoenix for our next project.

I feel very fortunate to have stumbled across Phoenix Home Services when I was searching for someone to repair our front porch, update our walkway and build a planting wall in our front yard. Within a day or two Clint presented us with an elegant, computer design proposal. The design far exceeded what we had initially imagined, and we gave him the go-ahead to proceed. Once Phoenix obtained all the requisite County permits, Clint had his crews begin the project. Les and his carpentry crew quickly yet carefully built our beautiful new porch. We were particularly impressed with the crew’s conscientious attention to detail. After the porch was constructed, Tomas and his crew capably and skillfully completed the masonry work. Our project involved removing an existing covered deck and replacing it with a 20’ x 17’ four-seasons room. We sought proposals from several companies, and while Phoenix was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, their numerous positive reviews and our discussions with Clint, one of the company’s co-presidents, made our decision easy. Clint’s expertise was evident from the beginning. He identified issues that other companies missed, such as the incorrect width of the existing roof cross beams according to Fairfax County code. He also offered many inspired design suggestions that set Phoenix apart. Clint’s detailed written proposal included a comprehensive "Scope of Work," listing every aspect of the project along with materials and quantities. The proposal featured realistic, computer-generated renderings from multiple angles, which proved to be nearly perfect representations of the final product. Clint estimated the project would take 30 to 35 workdays, but the team completed it in just 27 days, even though we added some new features along the way, like a glass block wall, French drains, and vinyl lattice with an access gate. We are delighted with our new addition. The construction is solid, and Phoenix resolved a long-standing drainage issue. The craftsmanship is impeccable—not even any spattered paint—and the quality of the custom-made windows, skylights, and split AC unit is top-notch. The two-year warranty on craftsmanship and materials also gives us peace of mind. The work crew, typically consisting of four to six members, was exceptional. They were highly skilled, friendly, polite, and well-organized. They adhered to local regulations by not starting noisy work until 8 a.m., cleaned up daily, and prepared the site for rain in advance. Our neighbors had no complaints and were impressed by the speed of the project and the pleasant demeanor of the crew. I particularly appreciated the crew accommodating all my picky requests, despite the extra effort required. Communication was another area where Phoenix excelled. Clint and Steve (the other co-president) made frequent site visits to provide oversight and seek our feedback. They also kept us well-informed throughout the project with weekly emails outlining the work plan, and they gave us a timely heads-up in case of any deviations from the schedule. Phoenix Home Services are the best deck builders I have ever worked with to date. The professionalism and attention to detail far exceeds my expectations. Our deck looked exactly like the 3D diagram we were shown before construction. Our old deck was completely removed as it was very old. I'm glad we didn't try to only fix just parts of the old deck. It was better to completely replace the deck which will last longer the house. We are so pleased to have chosen Phoenix Home Services.
