"There are many things which have been intentionally left out of this frivolous review. We are currently involved in litigation with this Customer and therefore cannot discuss the events surrounding this project. There are definitely 2 sides to every story."
"Thank you [Member Name Removed], it was our pleasure to work with you. Please call us if you need anything in the future. We’d be happy to help."
"We had several problems with this customer. We left the material bill open because we were worried about this Customer not paying for the amount of work they had the installer do while on site (which was not part of the contract). In the event we weren’t paid the supplier would also file a lien. This is a pretty typical strategy that contractors use for customers that they are worried about paying in full. If we were to pay the supplier in full (when we were worried about getting paid ourselves) the supplier would not file a lien. If that happens there is less chance that we will get paid. After going over the amount of time installer spent making changes to the project that we’re not on the contract it has became very clear that we are going to have to bill additional for the work completed on this project. This is why we have not paid the supplier at this point. The customer has not received their final invoice yet. We should have it out by Monday. The customers remaining balance is more than $[Member Information Removed]. This customer received a custom composite deck installation that didn’t conform to the installation specs listed in their contract. Once all the time was evaluated we are talking about an extra 12 to 16 hours worth of labor to customize the project the way he wanted it. We have no choice but to charge for this as we should not be expected to lose money because someone chooses to complete a project in a way that is not listed on their contract. As for the supplier we have every right to take extra steps to protect ourselves and ensure that we get paid what we deserve. They expected materials that they did not pay for, additional work that was not paid for and took the stance “I’ll give you a bad review if I don’t get this”. The customer did not oversee the entire job. In fact the job went very smoothly up until the point that the customer wanted to get involved from day to day trying to create the deck that he wanted to build himself. However this deck was not specified in the contract nor was the additional time it took to customize everything he wanted on the deck. Every time the installer turned around he was right on his back wanted several things changed. Again none of this was specified on the contract. We tried to speak to the customer about this and he took an aggressive stance and blew up about this. One of the reasons the project took so long was simply that we had to plead with the installer just to go back out and finish the job because it was such a bad experience for that installer. Finally, we did not lose our BBB accreditation. We chose to dissolve our relationship with the Better Business Bureau. That particular organization is heavily slanted towards the consumer. People often try to take advantage of businesses. When this happens and we say no, they get very upset. As if we are supposed to do whatever anyone wants because they threaten to make a complaint against us. This is gotten so out of hand that we had to put a stop to it and making responses like this have became necessary. We were paying to be a member of an organization that would do nothing on our end to defend us as a company. That being said we decided to discontinue our membership with the Better Business Bureau. We apologize again for the need to write a response back to a customer like this. The majority of our projects end with smiling faces. On occasion they don’t. Even when they don’t necessarily end positively we can typically work things out with the customer so we’re things like this don’t happen. In this case it was not an option. We appreciate our customer base and thank you all for your business."
"We apologize for the delay on the windows and railing. As we discussed, our installer (vinyl siding, trim metal, windows, railing, etc) was diagnosed with skin cancer and had to have surgery to remove the cancerous areas. He had a large area of skin removed near his shoulder which prevented him from working until it had healed. We were holding his jobs for him so he would have paying work ready to go when he came back. When we find good installers we take care of them; the same way they take care of our customers. His return took a little longer than expected due to the healing process. I am sorry for the delay. We know you will receive a job well done (and excellent service) with this installer completing the project. That means everything to us. He is back to work now and catching up quickly. Please bear with us just a little longer. Thank you for your review. We greatly appreciate your business!"
