The crew arrived at 7am and they started work right away. They did a great job and even took time to answer question that my husband and I had on the work they were doing. I have three small children and the workers even spoke to them. We had a netting on our chimney to keep bats out and one of the workers threw it away accidently and they quickly built something as a replacement. They ended the job at 5:20pm and they cleaned up quickly and told me if I see any nails to call them out as they would run their magnetic bar across our yard to ensure no other nails would be there. Great customer service from all, quick but efficient and the owner was on site to answer any questions we had. I hope we never have to put another roof on our home but if we do we will definitely contact them again!
I knew there was a problem with the roof as I had seen squirrels tearing out the shingles. The gentleman that came out said there was some areas around my chimney that might need to be repaired. He stated he had to have surgery on his hand and would call back when he had recovered. Never heard back and eventually had some water damage due to the repairs not being done.
There were no additional fees beyond the cost of the deal. Two men came out to complete the repairs and they arrived on time. They cleaned up well after the work complete. It looks good so far.

I bought Angie's list' s Deal on Roofing Inspection and Maintenance. They came within the allotted three day period, although I would have appreciated a phone call before they came, as they mentioned they would call before coming.
They were very nice, professional, explained a lot, which I appreciated. The reason I cannot give them an A is that my roof leaked again not three days after they finished the maintenance. They did explain that I need a roof replacement most probably within the year; but when I asked them should I replace now they said that it can last a year more, or even two, but I should start preparing the money. Although it was a small leak, I am not sure now as to whether the leak could have been avoided if the maintenance was 100% done right---maybe, maybe not. But the problem is I don't know for sure, which is why I cannot give A.
Otherwise I appreciate the idea to have roof maintenance packages, I would encourage other companies to offer them.
Two technicians scheduled for 8-10 am called at 9:30 and asked if okay to arrive early. Inside the condo (we are the middle of five units) they saw four water stains in a vertical line on the sunroom ceiling. The units had a new roof 8 years ago, but that company is out of business. Pioneer workers went onto the roof, and stayed approximately 45 minutes. Back on the ground, the owner showed photos taken on my roof, explained problems found, and described the repairs made. 1) The metal flashing across the top had dozens of nail heads that were loose, so they covered each nail with sealant. 2) Various shingles had been nailed in the wrong place allowing leaks over time, so each nail was covered with sealant. The technician suggested that we monitor the water stains to determine that they do not get any larger, especially during winds and rain of each season. A gentle pencil outline is the best way to monitor stain size changes.
Showed up day committed, spent 3 solid days doing the work until finished to satisfaction. Prompt, courteous, removed all debris, matched old paint of the house in a way that I could not believe possible. Stayed until the job was completed. Far beyond expectations. Great team, efficient, professional, my former review was premature as the work had not been performed. Just got irritated because initial contact was not when specified but there was a valid reason. I had been disappointed by many other contractors for other jobs needed other than roof. I would recommend this company highly.

The roofer was very communicative, even when he needed to run a little late. Came when he said he would. He seemed very knowledgeable and overall did what they said they would. Their promotion led me to believe that a few simple shingle replacements would be part of the deal, but I was told they would be additional. After the work was complete, I was given an estimate to repair 2 pipe collars, and a handful of shingles. Even though the quote was much higher than others I had received, I was willing to have Pioneer do the work just to get it done. I scheduled an appointment for the following Monday morning. After the worker left, I found empty caulk tubes in my backyard, and my front yard landscaping. I also found one of their caulk guns. Not exactly what I was hoping for in terms of quality.
Fast forward to my scheduled appointment the next Monday, I take off work in the morning, only to wait for a tech that was never coming. I call the tech, and he tells me I should have been contacted by another roofer that was going to handle that day's job. He promises to have that roofer call me. I never receive a call, and now have wasted a full day, and still have a leaky roof.
Needless to say, I am going with a different company to complete the work on my roof. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Pioneer Roofing.
Very professional arrived on time and did a thorough inspection of all the shingles, chimney and collars around air vents. Cleared existing pine straw from roof and made recommendations for continuous prevention. Very pleased with customer service and communication.
It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went great. They came out about 4 days after I purchased the deal. We've had some pretty severe rain storms since and everything has been fine. They were very personable. They seemed helpful and straightforward. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. I would absolutely use them again.

We purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for a roof inspection from Pioneer Roofing prepaying $167. We heard from them the day after the purchase, setting up the appointment. On the day of the appointment two men showed up early and immediately got to work. We showed
them the interior damage and they zeroed in on the damage to the roof and repaired it quickly in addition to the rest of the inspection and caulking around the chimney. All of this was finished within the two hours allotted for the inspection. They gave us a clear explanation of what they had found and the measures taken. We especially appreciated having the damage to the roof repaired immediately. We will certainly spread the word about the good job Pioneer Roofing did for us.

Josh Thompson of Pioneer Roofing made a thorough inspection of the roof & roof vent. He made numerous small repairs, some of which had contributed to slight roof leaks. He made a particularly detailed inspection around the chimney & caulked nail pull-outs plus re-established shingle solidity with the underlying sheathing. His co-worker replaced a shingle that had loosened and fallen to the ground. I was impressed enough with his professional approach to the work that I asked that he & his partner provide me an estimate for some additional work.
When I made out the check, I was making it out to Pioneer Roofing because the invoice was on Pioneer Roofing letter head. Micah asked me to make it out to him instead because he was in charge of the project. When I realized how much was left unfinished, I tried to reach him on his cell phone which was broken. I returned the next day and waited for him to return to finish the job, but he never showed up. He left his materials, his saw horses and all the construction debris in the driveway. He never came back to pick them up. I sent him several e-mails. He never answered them. My husband fell ill two weeks after that Saturday, August 17th, so I did not pursue the dormer situation further at that time because I figured that it would be ugly, and I didn't have the time. I did visit the cottage during the next few months several times and noted that around the chimney and the dormers it was still leaking down into the dining room. In November, a new roof was installed by another roofing company. The flashing that Micah had used was the wrong type of flashing and had not been completed at the ends of the dormers. He should have used step flashing. All of his flashing had to be removed and replaced. on the dormers and chimney. For the $2,005. I paid to Micah, I got partial siding, using the wrong partiplank. The aluminum siding on the house is smooth, he used a wood grain partiplank. I mentioned that the two did not match and he told me that smooth hardiplank was no longer made. That is not true. The flashing all had to be taken out and replaced and was incomplete. The dormers were never painted. Most of the $2,005. should be returned to me. I don't know if the owner of Pioneer Roofing will involve himself. He is welcome to come by and look at the still incompleted dormers. I had to pay for removal of old flashing which "was a wet mess" and the wrong kind of flashing and installation of new flashing.

Updated 4/28/14:

April 18th, I spoke with a contractor that will be finishing the dormers that Pioneer Roofing started.

This contractor listed other problems with Pioneer's work:
1. House wrap and tape were not used. The hardy plank, partially installed has to be removed so taht the wrp can be installed under the boards.
2. The windows were not flashed.
So, with this new information, it appears that the whole job has to be redone. The improper flashing around the 2 dormers and chimney had to be completed, the hardy plank was grained, not smooth, and does not match the smooth texture of the rest of the house, the dormers were not painted, of course, because they were never completed. But painting the dormers was part of the estimate. With the removal of the plank siding, installation of house wrap and tape, everything that Pioneer did, had to be redone. Plus, I had to pay to have his debris moved from the middle of the driveway.

Contractor did go to the rental property but arrived early, before the appointment time, and completed whatever work they did before the owner arrived. Owner does not have any idea what was found on the roof and what was done.
I gave a B for responsiveness because according the the purchase on Angie's List, they were supposed to get back with me by end of buisness Tuesday, 27 Aug 2013. This did not happen, and I called and left a voice mail asking about it. I had no response back. The next day I get a call from one of the technicians appologizing for not being at the house on time, which made no sense, because I wasn't given a time. The technician asked if I wanted to reschedule, or he could still make it to my house within the hour.
The technician was nice and informative. After the job was completed he told us that we would need to replace the vent boots in the near future, but that the two minor leaks we had should be taken care of. He found 20 exposed nails, which he replaced and re-sealed. He also did other m/x that was in the description of the plan we purchased from Angie's List. You can't beat the price, specialy when the regular price is $375.00 plus.
They did a great job. My husband handled it. We just paid the $149 big deal. I think they came out the day we purchased the big deal. One of the things they said was that they did not have a phone number to call, so, they just stopped by. It would have been nice if they had a phone number so they could call and set up an appointment. It worked out fine, but it is just like in the future if you could provide them with phone numbers, it would be great. What stood out to us was that they seemed very knowledgeable, and the repair work was good.

Pioneer was on time for both appointments. The brought the necessary equipment and supplies and fixed the vent and rain diverter. They were professional and courteous, cleaned up nicely and were on their way. I thought the $175.00 charge for fixing these 2 items was a bit high, but overall I still think it was worth the price. Good job Pioneer.
I'm Vanessa's husband. Vanessa coordinated contacts for me to get work done at our home. I did not speak with either East Coast Roofing or Tri-County Roofing, Inc. listed. Instead, I was contacted by Pioneer Roofing. Initial and subsequence contacts went well, especially the initial meeting. The guys, Michael and I don't recall the name of the other individual, was thorough and explain all findings and options in terms I could understand and follow. I believe I was given good information and all I needed to make a good decision. I did have Pioneer Roofing repair leaks and I am highly likely to have them do the additional work necessary to complete the job.
