They do great work! From puncutality to price, we will use no other company going forward. Since building a bedroom in our basement, we just had them back last week. We have/had a very small kitchen space in our typical 3 bedroom brick ranch in Chicago. We hired Pawel to remove the adjoining bedroom which we've converted into dining space. This included removal of two walls, reinforcement of two support beams, run electrical for canned lighting, install two other light fixtures, patch drywall and mend existing floors for a great flow. All was completed in a timely manner and of course, the finished product has exceeded our expectations.
Paul gave us an estimate shortly after we requested one. We had recently had asbestos vinyl tile and mastic removed from our basement, and in the process had to remove a built-in bench which left the lower
part of an otherwise paneled wall exposed. Another wall had paneling that was mismatched from top to bottom.
Also we have a staircase with vinyl asbestos tile that we wanted to cover. We wanted to install ceramic tile on the basement floor, but were unsure what to do to fix the walls and stairs.
Paul told us "everything is possible" when we asked him what we could do to repair the wall and cover the stairs. Paul suggested that he would install oak treads and risers on our staircase up to the kitchen. This was a unique and welcome
suggestion as we had heard many others but did not feel satisfied with any of them. He told us he could fix the walls and do the tiling as well. His estimate was timely and detailed. We liked the price so we went with his team.
They were punctual, professional, and made our basement walls and staircase beautiful! He repaired both walls so that they both look better than they ever had. The wall where the bench was removed ran short of panels, so Paul and his team took a small,under-the-staircase door made of the same material to finish the wall. They replaced the door so that it works better than the old one and looks good. The tile has brightened up the whole room and the baseboards and moulding have finished the look so we feel we have a new living space. The staircase is beautiful! We love our basement now! Paul and his team went above our expectations, and we would hire them again for sure.
This review is for Paul and his team. First off want to say Paul is very professional when dealing with him. He always answered my e-mails or phone calls if I had any questions pertaining to our projects. Paul?s team is also polite and didn?t have any issues they shown up same time every day and worked non-stop, took short lunch breaks until work day ended. They also kept things covered and cleaned up the old debris so I wasn?t left with a big mess.
What I really like what Paul does with his clients is have them provide the items for your project to your personal taste. Which IMO I believe gives you the best results in your finished project. Towards the end of the second bathroom completion I had an idea, I asked Paul if he could close off an area where the basement bathroom and make a room with a door and closet. I was thinking it would be something that I would have to schedule. Paul is busy and I can see why. He not only was able to do it right away, he had it completed in a day and half and the price was very fair. I was amazed how nice it turned out from just a vision. Paul and his team I?m convinced can make anyone?s dream project come true.
I wouldn?t hesitate to call Paul again for more projects our bathrooms came out looking incredible! My wife and I our thrilled and have already received compliments from family; they can?t believe they are the same bathrooms. Thank you Paul, you have been a blessing to us and our old home!

Excellent job. My wife was very concerned because we had a graduation party in just 2 weeks.
Pawel was able to start within 3 days of his estimate and they finished the
work just 4 days after they began. They even worked over the weekend.
They were very clean, polite, and I felt very safe with them working with just
the nanny and our kids at home. I've already contracted him for future
work at my apartment building and I plan to continue to use his team in the
future.
Pawel did a great job with this relatively small project. He answered his phone right away and came out the same day to give me an estimate. His prompt response and excellent Angie's List reviews are why I went with him. Replacing the drywall must have been tricky because there were 5 new pipes to go around but he did a great job. Then he painted the whole wall, which came out really nice. He does a nice job of masking everything off before and cleaning up after. He was easy to get a hold of, easy to schedule, and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
We are amazed at the outcome of this project! We had several quotes for finishing our lower level and Paul's quote and vision for the job best aligned with ours. We appreciated the way that Paul itemized the quote, which we didn't receive from any of the other quotes. The quality of the work looks like it would have cost double of what was quoted.
Paul and his crew were wonderful and very easy to work with from day one. They showed up on time and usually stayed late. They cleaned up at the end of each day. Paul and his crew were polite and seemed to enjoy the work they were doing. You can tell that they have a passion and pride in what they do.
The job took one week to complete. Within that time, they were also able to install laminate flooring and paint a walk-in closet and stain and install a shelf that we added at the start of the project. They took on this extra request without hesitation and made it seamless. We requested a custom built-in bookcase and Paul took on this work himself including the design. The outcome far exceeded our expectations.
We are looking forward to working with Paul and his crew on future projects.

PJ Construction was wonderful to work with and did exceptional work in my home. Paul always arrived on time, worked diligently and answered all of my questions about the projects. He even did a great job of cleaning up all of that drywall dust! If it weren't for the noise from the equipment, I wouldn't have even know they were there! They did a great job on our projects and I will definitely be using PJ Construction again in the future.

Started with a depressing and ugly attic bathroom and finished with an ipdated modern and beautiful bathroom. Lots of assistance as I struggled to find the right lights, tiles. fixtures and kept trying to help me make the right choices. It's a real skill when a contractor can stop and listen to the client and Pawel does just that.
We hired Paul/PJ Construction last summer and were very pleased with his work. We decided to do another project this winter (rehab basement half bath and create a new finished hall and room in the basement in part of the previously unfinished area) and he recently completed the job for us. It took about a week and a half to complete. WOW! I am again 110% satisfied with Paul/PJ Construction's work. Again, his work was of the highest quality and reasonably priced. He transformed the basement bathroom from an eyesore to my favorite bathroom in the house. The work is of the highest quality. The drywalled walls are smooth and seamless; the soffits built around basement pipes are masterfully done and fade nicely into the walls. The floor and backsplash title is even and precise. The painting is meticulous (a soft blue on the walls, white baseboards, and flat white paint for the ceiling). The new toilet, vanity and facet work perfectly. The new bathroom is gorgeous! I am so picky with things like title and painting and I cannot find even a tiny flaw in the work. For the second part of the job, he transformed part of the utility area in the non-finished part of the basement into a new room. The walls were expertly framed around ducts. The drywalling is expertly done. The new walls are plumb perfectly smooth. Needed access panels to certain pipes are expertly placed and blend in nicely. We had him remove a door and part of wall so that the new room and new hall could "flow" into the already finished part of the basement. The work is expertly done. There is no evidence of where the wall used to be. The ceiling (where there used to be a wall) flows seamlessly into the previously finished part. There is no slope in the ceiling etc. and it is perfectly smooth. The electrical work was extremely well done. The relocation of the water heater (which involves soldering pipes etc.) was expertly done. As you can tell, I am pleased with Paul and his helper's work. In addition to excellent work, PJ is flexible and adaptable (we added a few things to the job along the way like recessed lighting in the hall) and he of course gave us reasonable prices for each thing we added. He is also very thoughtful (installed a little hook at the top of an access panel so that our little boys would not be able to open it--we didn't even ask him to!) He is very tidy, lays down tarps to walk on nonwork areas, and cleans up the areas very well. And, he and his helper are very polite. Really nice guys. In sum, my husband and I couldn't be more thrilled with PJ Construction. They can handle a variety of different work (soldering, electrical, tiling, and electrical). This is the second large project we hired PJ Construction for, and again he did an A+ job. We highly recommend his services and will use him again for our next construction project.

Once again Paul did a great job. His estimates were very fair and the finished rooms look like they were always there. They removed our entryway closet to add that space to our dining room, closed off that wall, tiled our entryway, placed new trim & baseboards, stained our front door and repainted the space. In our dining room, they reframed a wall, placed insulation under the floors & wall, installed sconces, installed new trim, baseboards, and chair rail, added flooring to the new space of the room, drywalled, and painted the room. They completed the job in about a week and cleaned up after themselves before they left for the day. Paul and his crew are very professional and flexible with your schedule, which is always appreciated.

Over all the job went fantastically well. They worked 9 -10 hour days. They were fast. They were efficient. They were CLEAN!! Cleaning up after themselves as they went on throughout the day. They met their time lines and they met their price points. There were a few small add-on's at my request and they did them for cost. They were creative and in my opinion "know how to make things work". It is my experience that they are skilled craftsmen. They are good at their trade. I will, absolutely, hire them again for future work!! The space looks amazing!!

Pawel (Paul) was easily one of the most professional contractors I have had the pleasure of working with. He came out to give an estimate a few weeks before the job, and e-mailed a quote within a couple days. We decided to go with him for the work and I couldn't have been happier. We e-mailed a few times before the job started to get everything all set and make a few changes (chose not to hang a sliding door, added insulation in the ceiling) all of which went great- he gave us options with prices for any changes we wanted made. He called a few days prior to the job starting to make sure we were still set. On the first day, he arrived with a coworker and got started right away by covering the furniture in the basement with plastic to protect it from all the dust and joint compound. They worked mostly non-stop from 8-5 for 5 days and completed everything. Every night they cleaned up, and when the job was over, they mopped and vacuumed the whole area. We even asked for a few minor tweaks during the process (speaker holes cut in ceiling, masonite facing on the side of 3 stairs) and Paul was very accommodating. I can't speak highly enough of the job they did, when I show other people the work, they are incredibly complimentary and amazed at the speed and price. Paul finished faster than planned and exactly on budget. If it wasn't clear enough in my review, I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone.
Pawel is always professional and honest to work with. He provided a fair estimate, completed the job within the timeframe he committed to and cleans up at the end of the day leading to the front door. We were very happy with the outcome of the bedroom remodel as this is the third project of ours that Pawel has been part of. We plan to work with Pawel as we continue to remodel our home.
We highly recommend PJ Construction and was very pleased with their work. We requested an estimate to finish off an area of our attic, make improvements to an attic bedroom space, and drywall and move some walls in our basement. Paul came to the house the very next morning and promptly e-mailed us a detailed estimate that allowed us to choose which work we wanted to complete. Pricing was very reasonable so we hired him to drywall part of the attic, rebuild a wall the separates the attic stairs, paint the attic bedroom, lay laminate in the attic bedroom, remove part of a wall in the basement, move a wall and build a new one in the basement, place thin drywall over some pine in the basement to finish off a room, and drywall basement stairs. The work took about 2 weeks to complete. Paul was good at communicating when he was able to start, and how things were progressing throughout the job. He and his worker were very clean. They put down tarps when walking or moving equipment in other parts of the house and cleaned up work spaces each evening. He is perfectionistic in the work. The drywall is smooth and flawless. The laminate was laid perfectly. The new framed landed is perfect and looks great. The paint was very well done. (A day after the last coat dried the worker noticed some unevenness in the ceiling paint and fixed it without being asked.) There is no evidence that there used to walls in the places were we requested he move them. A REALLY EXCELLENT JOB. We were BEYOND pleased and would hire them again in a heart beat. Beyond exceptional work Paul is courteous but task oriented. A perfect combination in my book. We love our new attic bedroom and basement playroom. THANKS!
Our experience with PJ construction could not have been better.
PJ listening to the our needs and provided an estimate in only 2 days. He was the quickest of all the bis we had and the most competitive. We were reluctant at first to choose PJ Construction b/c the bid was so competitive, but we decided to take a chance.
We?re so glad we did.
The team was on time and friendly. They were attentive and responsive to our concerns or questions. They were incredibly clean and detail-oriented. For example, the ceiling was behaving oddly with the repair, and the paint especially was troublesome as it kept bubbling. PJ and his team painted the ceiling 3 times to get it just right.
The hallway to the basement is amazing. Clean, seamless drywall, and a precise paint job.
The most amazing part of our whole experience, however, was the porch and steps.
We took photos of neighborhood steps we liked and PJ created a concept that really worked for us. He hand built every part of the staircase over. It?s solid, stately, and there?s not a loose joint or inaccurate cut on the whole thing. The custom nature, and quality of craftsmanship is kind of unreal for the price we paid.
The porch was also equally precise. And the the paint job on each was outstanding.
We could not have been happier with the outcome and I would use them again in a heartbeat.
We have an old house with a basement we weren't using for living space, and finally decided to do something with the basement to make it usable as living space. We got a several job estimates for the project and chose this company because we had used them on a couple of prior jobs and were very happy with the prior work. Always good to get estimates/opinions though, so we did.
Their estimate was comparable to all of the others - neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. Final cost came out close to the first quote. The price was a very good deal for the amount and quality of work they performed.
They basically did a complete remodel of our old, rough basement, installing walls, ceiling, floor, painting, doors, everything. We are very very happy and satisfied with the work and with our new basement. The workers were very professional, clean and impressively attentive to detail. We would definitely hire them again. Highly recommended!

We brought in this company for an estimate to update a bedroom. The work included patching of the existing plaster work, painting, running electric outlets and lighting, wall mounting a tv, installing new closet doors, and trimming out the windows. We were familiar with the owner as he had done work on our house previously. Happy with the estimate we decided to move ahead with the week-long project.

The owner did the majority of the work himself, and we were very pleased with the results. The walls and ceiling which had some very large cracks in the plaster had been almost completely patched and sanded smooth. The new closet doors were installed perfectly along with the new baseboard molding and door/window casing. Electric was run and two wall sconces and an overhead light fixture was installed. It's great to finally have some switched lighting in the room. The painting was flawless. Overall the room looks completely new.The owner is very professional. He showed up on time every day, and cleaned up at the end of the day. He promised to have the work done by Friday, but ended up coming in on Saturday and Sunday to finish the job. With the attention to detail and overall quality of the work we were happy that corners were not cut and the job was done properly.

We absolutely recommend this company and will likely do work with them in the future.

He and his craftsmen were always considerate and on time, and even more importantly, they were honest and trustworthy. We have other remodeling projects in mind, and we'll certainly be calling Paul when we're ready to forge ahead!
