It went very well. The floors look fantastic. The crew did a great job. This is our second job PMC has done. They did our basement bathroom two years ago. It is gorgeous. We will probably contact them again for our backyard project.

Plumbing side was A+ And I would use them again. Responsive, professional, and quality work. However, we had a TERRIBLE experience with the drywall/painting department from lack of coordination with scheduling, quality of work extremely low with numerous requests to be redone to get it to sparkling and paint color to satisfactory level. Drywall repair was significantly obvious where cut out was, mismatch of paint color took 3 attempts at ceiling white, paint splatters and speckles all over cabinets, new appliances, and granite.(still cleaning 4 days later), Communication with employee was extremely limited. 2x2 area in ceiling took almost two full days to resolve without a kitchen. I would not recommend them for these services.

Concrete wirk is expensive! I did lots of research and asked lots of quextions. Mike (project manager) was thorough when we discussed plans for the job, during the job and at job completion. He stopped every day to check on the job progress and to answrr any queztions I had. He communicated by phone, text and email. His team of workers didnt say much but was focused on getting the job done amd on schedule. Mike himself ensured all was done as a greed upon, and area cleaned a d returned to its original state. I would hire PMC Construction again.

They called immediately and came to fix it the same day. They provided excellent service, were professional, clean, wore booties and did a great job.

We hired PMC to install a 12x16 concrete patio in our backyard. Aaron came out to review the project with me. He was patient and knowledgeable, answering the few questions I had and providing feedback on how to deal with drainage. Unlike the other company that came by, they emailed a detailed estimate and the price was competitive. Although, the work was delayed because of weather, we were very happy with the finished result. We ended up opting to have the downspout extended and buried under the new slab. The project manager quoted a price which we excepted. However, because they were already in the process of excavating for the patio, he ended up discounting the additional excavation labor cost. I would use them again.

Very disappointed . Work was done this past May. There are all sorts of gaps , and you can see light through them .The weather stripping is not snug , water has come in causing damage to hardwood floors and rotting the threshold . There is also damage to the drywall at the bottom of the door from water. There was a one year Labor warranty. Effort was only made if I would pay
Response from PMC Construction
"We communicated up front with this customer our recommendation that she replace her warping patio door and framing to correct her water intrusion issue. The client did not want to pay for a complete door replacement. She suggested replacing the glass panel only. After explaining the panel replacement might be insufficient to addressing her issue, she asked that we proceed. We provided a contract and completed the work based on the contract. She called us back out on a warranty call some time later. We sent a tech out immediately to inspect. We showed her that the issue was the door, which had now warped further. The glass panel remained sealed and in tact. We provided an estimate for the replacement of the door. The client declined."

After I signed the contract, the foreman showed up and said "this job was underbid", which set a very negative tone for the entire project. The workers had a good attitude, but admitted to one of my neighbors that they had never done this type of work before. The completed job was very low quality. When I asked for corrections to be made, I was told "anything can be fixed for more money". This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Do not use this contractor.
Response from PMC Construction
"Unfortunately, the reviewer contracted this work with a former employee of PMC who illegally used our forms and license information to obtain several jobs for himself. We learned of the issues with this job 6 months after the work was completed when this review was posted. We reached out to the reviewer without success."

Not so well. After the sales person and project manager looked at the baths they both assured me there would be no plumbing issues-I asked several times. First thing they did was replace all the plumbing in the upstairs baths at an added cost without even telling me. I was later told by a different person that they did not understand why they did it that way. Before I looked for cabinets I asked what size. The upstairs cabinets were a great fit. They said to order a 30" cabinet for the powder room. After measuring it myself I got less than 30. Salesperson & project manager both measured it and assured me they were correct. Guess what? Too big (& they said all the plumbing also hAd to be replaced). Project manager insisted it would fit and without even telling me what they were doing ripped off the dry wall on both sides down to the frames. I couldn't believe it when I looked. By then they had attempted to install the cabinet and I'm sure scratched the heck out of the sides. Had they not it could have been exchanged. No more. Shoved it in and put up new dry wall on the sides. Now for the cabinet tops. I specifically said, way more than once, that I wanted under mount sinks. The upstairs ones were one piece bowl & surround. Nope! They are being redone again at additional cost to me. Powder room. I sent a picture of exactly which granite I wanted to the sAles person. Without checking for the accuracy of the Home Depot display he order by the name on the display. Obviously he never confirmed that the granite was the one I wanted because I got something totally different. I guess the name on the display was wrong but I SENT A PICTURE of the piece I wanted. But it had been cut already and I am stiuck with it. It's beaitiful gray but not what I wanted-there is nothing gray on my house. There work itself was good. They still have to come back with the new under mounts for upstairs and I made it clear I did not want that project manager (mike) back in my house. Major communication issues and so disappointed in the powder room.
The job went very well. The measurements were accurate, so no adjustments needed to be made. The quality of the stone, the cutting and finishing of the stone, the installation, was all excellent. A+ The sink was a little tricky, but everything turned out great.
Wonderfully! The three man crew was fantastic! They worked non-stop, took photos of the roof where I couldn't see, and cleaned up every speck so that our deck and driveway were cleaner than when they started. When we found the waterstain in our guest bedroom, we were disheartened, but PMC made it all better. The only detractor I have is the slightly hard sell for more work but having our roof happy again was what I needed.

This is one of my worst experiences with a contractor. I submitted the following to the BBB on the Feb 13th, 2014, and I haven't heard anything back from PMC as of March 8th, 2014.

PMC Construction installed a new roof on my shed on February 25th, 2013. I contacted them on January 11th, 2014 because the roof started leaking in multiple places. I paid PMC $2,000 for a new roof that was supposed to last, but it’s leaking in less than a year. When I contacted PMC, they sent someone out to look at the roof and they said the slope of the roof was too low for the shingles used. If the slope of the roof was going to be a problem, they never should have replaced the roof with the existing slope. This leads me to two possible options:

  1. PMC knew the roof they were putting on my shed was going to leak and they were satisfied taking my money. Gary told me on the phone they didn’t think it was going to leak so I don’t think this is the case.

  2. PMC did not know the roof was going to leak. However, in good faith of their warranty, they must do something to ensure the roof is fixed for the long term, not just another year.

After Gary told me the slope was too low, I asked him what they were going to do about it, and he said I need to fix it. He gave me someone to contact because he said they don’t do this type of work. In turn, I asked if they intended to pay for the additional work because I didn’t pay them $2,000 for a roof that was going to leak in less than a year. I haven’t heard anything back from PMC since.

Background:

PMC came out in early February of 2013 to give me a quote on a new roof for my shed since the current roof was rotting and falling apart. Nelson Gil came out to quote the work and emailed me a proposal stating the following:

We will be removing existing roof and replacing it with new flat roof, the roof we install will include leak barrier around edges of home, roof deck protection, a reliable low slope system, and 20 pieces of 2’x4’x60 plywood will be repaired, Upon completion of this project, we will perform a magnetic clean-up to ensure no unused nails are left and we will also leave gutters 100% clean. $1,869.00

I found someone else who would do the same work with gutters included for $1,600, but Gary stated they could do the same work for $1,625 so I decided to stick with PMC. I met with Gary on the 15th of Feb to sign the contract. After our agreement was signed, Mike Portillo came to the house to see the shed before the work started, realized Nelson did not properly scope the original work, and he sent me a revised proposal for $3,215.46. After expressing concern to Gary about the price increase on the 18th, they were able to get the price down to $2,305.98, but this was still about $700 more than originally expected. At this point, on the 19th, I wanted to cancel the work to go back with the other person I was considering because of all the pricing issues. However, PMC refused to release me from the contract stating: “We needed you to verify with two copies of your choice to cancel, however if you look at your contract we have stated you had 72 hours to exercise this option and you contacted us on this decision on the 19th.” Apparently this is not business days since the 15th was a Friday. Regardless, they said: “We would rather continue with the proposed work scope with the additional cost for your change requests. My manager has given you a final price of $1,998.68.” I still was not thrilled with the idea of having them do the work, but they said: “If you would like a refund we have to charge you 25% of the contract. We do not wish to do it this way, if you can let us do what we said we were going to do we can extend the labor warranty to 5 years” so I let them do the work.

Response from PMC Construction
"Unfortunately, the issues with this customer had to be resolved through litigation. We prevailed in court and was awarded a judgment against the consumer."

Can't say I would recommend this construction company. Lots of problems. I have had 5 houses roofed in 3 years. They rate as the worst of the 4 contractors I used. The roof was good but they did damage to the house and wanted to charge me to fix it.

I received 7 estimates ranging from $4 to $7 thousand and ended up going with the highest one. While the others offered to finish the job in three days at lower prices, Mike from PMC was the only one who seemed sincere and addressed quality. He also provided photos of previous jobs. He discussed appearance and made recommendations. He offered to relocate all of our bushes and was the only one that offered to line the drive with bricks. 4" of 4000 psi over 4" of gravel, 20 x 40 drive and a LIFETIME WARRANTY in writing. The job took 7 days with Jose and Antonio doing top quality work by hand. They worked from 8 - 5 non-stop every day. You get what you pay for. I'm very satisfied.
