About us

Precise Home Builders is a remodeling and construction firm serving Los Angeles since 1987. Through the years, we have established ourselves in the construction industry and earned the trust of thousands of satisfied customers. Our extensive experience with different types of construction and remodeling projects has made us experts in every aspect of the renovation and building process. The construction industry is in constant evolution: safety regulations and codes are often updated and vary from city to city, new products and technologies are introduced to the market with emerging trends and environmental concerns, and design elements must be updated over time - for these reasons and many more, our philosophy is to educate our staff and to constantly try to improve ourselves. We participate to tradeshows, attend courses, study trends and hold internal meetings to share ideas and know-how. But most importantly, we are passionate about what we do. We treat each home as if it was our own; we know that customer service is the very core of a long standing business, and our representatives often keep a trusting relationship with a customer long after a project is completed. Each remodeling or construction project is followed and coordinated by a supervisor, who will be available to assist you and provide answers and progress updates. We have developed a network of trusted architects and vendors - all of whom know our high standards and are capable to provide the quality we demand. The building process is clearly explained to you at the very beginning. The project supervisor will provide an itemized description of the project in addition to frequent progress updates - in addition, a realistic date of completion will be set up and we guarantee to finish the project within that timeframe. We define success by our customers' satisfaction, not only with the final results, but with the entire experience. We don't just build houses - we make them your home.

Precise did a great job ultimately and delivered a beautiful home for us. We knocked out a wall, did a balcony, put outside stamped concrete in, extended a room, put a new powder room in, redid the stairs, refloored the house, and closed in a room upstairs. We were very prompt with our payments and in return they stayed on schedule. Near the end we made our final payment even though there was more work to be done. Once the owner of Precise found out about the work it was done within a week. We had problems with the air conditioning, plumbing, and other things and precise always came through and fixed it. All of the little details that we complained about they addressed and fixed them. If it is in the contract, you can trust that they will get it done and do a great job of it. Unlike other contractors, they had someone working on our house almost every single day. No excuses. Once they started, they attacked it. The new kitchen is modern and beautiful. They are extremely good at holding your hand through the process. They helped design it and came up with alternatives to make us happy whenever an obstacle got in the way. They worked with us closely on decorating and design decisions. We definitely would recommend them, but do your homework before getting bids. As with all construction, quite a few things came up that required us to spend more money. They way underbid on lighting (underbid by 17 lights), never mentioned that we would need cork (add $4,000)under our upstairs flooring, created situation that forced us to redo backyard concrete to get proper drainage($20,000), killed our backyard grass, ruined part of our sprinkler system, they mentioned they could do a few different design items that were left out of the contract and later re-mentioned as change orders, and we had to pay extra $4000 for relocating a pipe that they missed in the original bid. In their defense, none of the change orders were listed in the actual contract so I was forced to pay the extra amount. My disappointment was that most of the change orders were something that should have been in the original bid. I had to pay for my ignorance. Overall we are still very happy with the Precise staff as people and LOVE our new home. If I was more diligent in the initial contract reading I could have avoided a lot of the issues. I am told by others that all construction contractors do change orders and generate more revenue, but I was not prepared for it and at my absolute limit on spending. This is the only reason we gave them a 4 star and not a five star. Their work and the people themselves are five star most definitely. Cannot complain at all about the actual job itself. They did a fantastic job and were an absolute pleasure to work with . We always felt like they paid immediate attention to us. They made us feel like their only clients. They really made us feel like they wanted to make us happy and meet all of our needs. We plan on doing our bathrooms in the future and we will definitely be having them bid the jobs. We would not hesitate to work with them again. Ultimately after all said and done, you will definitely be happy with their design, construction and finished product. I will let you know that I have already recommended them to two different people I know getting their kitchens and bathrooms redone.

There needs to be a distinction between the Precise employees and the sub-contractors that they used. The Precise office staff was responsive and Dino was good about the design and the layout. He made meetings on times and was helpful during the design process. The execution of the project and the work that the sub-contractors did is another story altogether. The sub contractors would drink alcohol while working on our house and would leave their beers in the house for us to clean up. The workers would use our toilets and would get urine everywhere (a portapotty was placed outside for the workers to use). Food scraps were left inside the house. This remodel had us living in another portion of the house while the remodel was taking place so we were directly affected by these working conditions. When we raised these concerns to Dino, his questions was "what do you want me to do about it? I can't watch them every hour of the day." Ultimately Dino put a sign up that told the workers to not do these things. Some days the workers would comply, most of the time I had to do a sweep of the house every single day that I got home from work to clean up after the workers. The subcontractor's project manager Sheron/Adolfo could not organize things in a coherent manner. Some of our walls were painted 4 or 5 times because they would paint without completing the patches to the walls or other work that impacted the painting. We had some workers who would tell us that corners were being cut and only after bringing it up to Dino and having arguments over it would things get fixed. We took to being present when the building code inspector was examining the house so we can know what the problems were and ensure that things were done properly because we did not trust the sub-contractors . On one occasion Dino expressed that the inspector was wrong and that he was not going to follow their instructions and that the inspector would never see what would happen because it will be covered by cement. I had a major argument with Dino at this point and told him to follow the building code inspectors instructions or I would be forced to call the Better Business Bureau as well as the County Inspectors. Finally, precise complied. The worst of the planning errors that impacted our remodel was the flooring in our kitchen. The drywall had not been completed in the kitchen but the stone tiles were installed and grouted. We expressed concern over the white powder from the dry wall getting into the grouting but was assured that nothing would happen and that everything would be covered up. We come home one day and find out that things were not covered up and were assured then it would be an easy clean up. The drywall powder had worked its way into the grout and could not be cleaned out. Precise then had to send multiple people out to clean the tiles. They were not successful and Precise told us there is nothing further that they could do. We did not want to have tiles with splotches of white and grey grouting. We ultimately had to hire our own contractor to remove the grout and regrout and seal the tiles which further delayed our project. Our project was only supposed to take 6 months but instead took almost a full year. Precise told us that there was a one year warranty on their work and we have had to make use of it many times for electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. Even now we are dealing with some electrical problems.

I can not say enough good things about Precise Home Builders. From the initial meeting to the end result, we could not have been happier with the entire process. We had a major project, gutting and converting a 1920's spanish duplex to a completely new modernized single family home and the Precise team not only delivered within our budget, but also within the 6 month time frame we initially discussed. None of our friends believed we'd get such a big job done within that time frame, but Precise really came through! We passed all permits with ease, never had any surprises, and had fantastic communication during each phase, even the vendors they referred us to were pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Precise Home Builders for any project, big or small.

Moshe and his team was very knowledgeable and thorough in the work. He finished within the estimated work time he provided at and though we probably could’ve gotten a lower bid from someone else, we were glad to pay what we did because the job was thorough and the team finished on time without us having to incur additional cost like paying extra rent and etc. Moshe offered great design ideas and helped make the most of the space and budget we had. Thanks Precise Home Builders!!!

We initially hired them to do a complete bathroom remodel and also added some other things such as installing recessed lights in one of the bedrooms and den, and replacing some windows in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms. We first met with Shay from Precise Home Builders and we liked the pictures, especially the tile work, and his description of the work. His bid was not the cheapest compared to other companies but it sounded like they knew what they were doing so we hired them. Overall, the project got done but it was a hassle from beginning to end. They initially promised it would take 5 weeks (also written in the contract), but it took 8 weeks instead. Communication was very difficult although Shay was responsive. However each day we would find something that would need to be fixed or redone and had to point it out. For example, if we left it up to them, the door to the bathroom would open directly against the sink, and we would not have a medicine cabinet installed which we really wanted. They wanted to charge extra to demo the door frame just to change the swing direction of the door, so we had someone else do it. We also had bought a medicine cabinet which they told us they could not install recessed because of a pipe in the wall and they didn't tell us that until halfway through the project. After much debate, they finally agreed to surface mount it. They were finally able to install it. The shower niche was also not centered in relation to the window so had to be redone. There were many other small imperfections such as gaps in the paint, gaps in the grout left unfinished, and dry wall that had to be fixed along the way. We felt that many things were not done right the first time, and they had to be go back and fix them. Although the project was finished and the bathroom looks nice, there were still several things that we noticed that had to be fixed. The toilet was not secured to the ground and wobbles back and forth when sitting down. The air vent in the ceiling was found to be loose. Thankfully, they came back and were able to fix everything without any questions. The owner, Moshe, also got involved to address our previously complaints with the experience. I’d say overall the end product and the customer service were satisfactory.

Overall, we like their service, and would like to recommend to others. I first got referral about Dino through a friend's sister. We interview about 5 vendors, how we decided to hired Precise Builders because Dino show us the very detail drawing on computer and made some really good suggestions that other contractors did not even mentioned , or say not able to do, and the cost seems reasonable even not the cheapest , he also brought us attention those items not included in his estimate`but we should expect to spend ,such as shower room doors, garden window ,appliances if we planned to buy new items.. etc.. (after we signed the contract we found the company also prepared the list.) which is great , some other contractor did not brought it up even it's our own responsibility, so we kind know the expense mighty be. We checked the review from Angie's list as we always do . because we wanted to know how others said. On the top of the above , Dino took efforts to find the color of the cabinet which I told him I care very much about it. When the project started, Andres was in charge, Andres is a very good team leader and he had very good team members, hard working, happy workers, and they were willing to match with our schedule , it made our life much easier. and he was very responsible , anything happened, he tried to made arrangement to be here, very patience and calm . The office people, such as Kareen always follow up and took care of us, always follow up even minor issues. So we always know where we are. The project were pretty much on schedule, only few days behind, we consider that was very good... Also, no surprise payment , even there was a very minor disagreement, but they well taken care.. the project completed totally within our plan. We were happy with our decision , but we do have few little suggestions: we believe Dino tried to make our life easier to brought vendors to us ( Counter top, bathroom tiles, shower room tiles etc)but, to think it over, we would rather go visit different show rooms, To see the chart or samll pieces sample are so different then see the display , we would be able to make even better choices .. The shower room high light was totally shocked me when the worker started to installed, Dino was far away , the vendor got upset and just said it was my choices, yes, it was my choices and I was exciting to see the small sample by then. but a no imagination people like me, I wished I could see a display rather then just small pieces. The shower room turn out ok, but it was pretty scary at the time. Of course , kitchen cabinet maker was only sample, but luckily, not only ourselves but all friends visited compliment the color , the cabinet maker ( Michael ? sorry can not remember his name) was really awesome and responsible and willing to made true suggestion according to his experiences ( not just to say what we like to hear) to the detail such as pulls and knobs, those looks tiny but also such high light for the kitchen , we are totally happy with him. We also glad that we hired Dino, thanks for our friend's referral . we would happy to recommend him to others. but, Before we almost complicate the project, I asked Dino to gave us an estimate for our 2nd bed room's bathroom and if he can recommend a person to fix our sun room window , he never took effort to do so, we are not sure if he was too busy or he did not think we will do it any time soon. But, at end, we would like to say. Yes, we are happy for the project, happy to work with Dino, Andres and his team , Kareen in the office . We love our new kitchen and guest bathroom.

Everything was done quickly and professionally. Precise Home Builders were excellent to work with, they listened to our concerns and always came up with great ideas on what we could do. I was / am very happy with the work that Dino and his team did for us in just under 3 months. They even worked well and patiently with the city inspectors. I couldn't have asked for more... easy to work with, no headaches, and everything was done quickly without sacrificing quality. I am so happy that we found Precise Home Builders, and I would definitely hire them again for any additional remodeling work that we have.

<p>As this is going to be a longer story, I would like to state right up front that I wouldn’t recommend nor would I ever hire them again. The reason that I hired them was due to the positive feedback on Angie’s List and more important due to the sales pitch from Steve K. I was told that if I contract with Precise that they would design the master bathroom but then I would select all parts on my own (tub, tiles …). However they said I shouldn’t buy anything but rather send them the specification as they will review every single part to ensure if will fit from a measurement and quality perspective. Ultimately you pay them for labor, design and review of the parts and you pay directly for all the parts. I liked that approach as I was able to choose what I liked but they were responsible for all the measurements and that it will fit at the end. However that didn’t work at all but more details later. It also looks like that the positive feedback depends a lot of which crew and project manager you end up with. In my case I have to say it was a complete failure.</p> <p>There were so many problems that I can’t list them all and therefore decided on some samples. </p> <p>1)      Business Model. While you have a contract with Precise they are sub-contracting all work out to individuals. This is a big issue as the contractor is ultimately not accountable for his work. It is also an issue as they get paid by the hour. So Precise keeps pushing them to work fast. So it is speed over quality.</p> <p>2)      Up front inspection. I was very clear that they were allowed to inspect my old bathroom and open even walls if needed so that there are no surprises later. The reason for this was that I want a fix price contract and not being constantly asked to pay more. </p> <p>3)      We bought medicine cabinets; which needed to be flushed with the wall. However when they opened the wall they acted surprised that there are beams behind the wall. Again nothing of the promised pre-work was done to read the specification and inspect my bathroom first. They did come through and had to but in a new wall, which by the way they never came up with those solutions but rather me or my wife.</p> <p>4)      Quality of work. While they will try to fix any problems, it will take multiple times until it is done. And every time you find an issue it gets harder and harder to get them out and getting it fixed due the sub-contractor issue. For example they had to grout my shower floor 4 times as there was always a dark spot in the corner, which looked like a dog did its business there. </p> <p>5)      Reading the specifications and doing the upfront measurement. I bought a vanity (custom made from Duravit), Sinks and Faucets. Remember earlier the sales pitch that they would check and ensure it all fits. The vanity was custom made and pure luck that it actually fit into the space as it was too long. However the rest was a nightmare. When they installed the sink (needed to drill the hole) the drawer didn’t close anymore. As the faucet had a box (mixing hot and cold water) it was impossible to install it within the vanity so they just cut a hole into the drywall and dropped the box in there. It still doesn’t look perfect and looks like it was done by an amateur plumber. </p> <p>6)      Sales of light fixtures. I made the mistake to buy three recessed lights from them directly, which were way overprices. But on top of it, they didn’t even give me the same model but rather gave me two different designs. Why?</p> <p>So overall the entire project was just a horrible experience. I decided to pay a lot of money so that I didn’t need to spend a lot of time on this project. But it turned out that I almost spend more time than if I would have done this on my own and would have hired individual contractors. For me I was expecting a white glove service for the price but got nothing remote to it. At this very moment I have a new plumber who is fixing (sync, running toilette and not correctly installed bathtub) multiple things not working.</p>

We hired Precise Home Builders for a bathtub to walk in shower conversation.  We selected Precise Home builders based on Angie?s <br /> List reviews and positive comments from previous customers. <br /> The project was successfully completed and we are very pleased with the results.  All workers (hot mopper, tile setter, <br /> painter, electrician/plumber) were competent and did a great job.  The shower looks like a bathroom in a four-star <br /> hotel. <br /> Although it took a bit longer than we expected, we are pleased with the final result. <br /> <br /> <br />

This is how it went. <br /> I chose Precise because of the A ratings here on angie's list. Dino, my main contact, was a very nice guy. I could tell he had good taste, and we wanted quality work. after signing with them, they paraded a group of workers through the bathroom to be remodeled. the "electrician", the "plumber" the "foreman". all with appropriate licenses, they promised. <br /> After demolition day, they same guy who did demo, was now doing electrical. he proceeded to put the can lights in the wrong spots in the ceiling. luckily, we were home, and asked him to move them, since no one asked us first, on the correct location of the can lights, he moved them. He acted like it was no problem, and kindly moved the holes in the ceiling. next, the outlets, same guy, same problem. wrong spots. no one asked us. This should have been a red flag to us, but we had high hopes that these were just overlooked details that would easily be fixed, and this would not be an everyday occurrence. WOW, were we wrong. Everyday, since NO foreman showed up (until the very end of the project) - before or after work was done each day- to check it, there were problems. The same guy put in the plumbing, the tile, the walls, etc.  <br /> Everyday, we had to call with changes to the day's work. I believe, we ended up being the foreman on this job. From sinks being put in backwards to shower head being so high, no one could reach it, to tile floor being laid wrong (2 times), nooks in shower in the wrong places, shower faucet installed wrong (we bought this very expensive faucet weeks before they needed it, and they had all the details instructions in plenty of time to have a plumber install it correctly), round drain, when I had it in writing we wanted a square drain in the shower, cabinets installed very crooked and with a finish, so poor, you could see the paint right through to the wood in some places - NOT the finish we had picked out, many, many bubbles showing through on the glass tile that was chipped by the tile layer, blinking 3" LED can lights in the ceiling, lights falling out of the ceiling, when I tried to change to light... etc. etc.  <br /> Everyday, there was something done, something had to be re-done, and fixed on another day.  <br /> But, I must commend them on this -- They were always very nice about it, and had no problem promising to fix it as soon as they could. of course, this made a 4-6 week job, an 8-12 week job.  <br /> <strong>They did not show up for final inspection. </strong>The inspector was very shocked and disappointed at this. <br /> When we had enough, we started to insist on a "real" tile layer, a certified electrician to fix the blinking LED lights, and a real plumber to fix the faucet.  Faucet was unfixable at this point, and the LED are still blinking like an 80s discotheque.  <br /> They have given up on the lights, and Dino got a bit of an attitude when I mentioned that it now looks like water is getting behind the glass tile. He wasn't concerned with fixing that. He was just done with it. I would think that would be a part of the general contractor's guarantee. <br />   <br /> I know they can do quality work, if pushed and supervised. But I did not sign up for me to be the foreman on a job I was paying someone else to do. It was very frustrating. If I did not point out the sloppy work each day, we would have a completely different bathroom, one that I would not want to live with.   <br /> I imagine this will be taken off of Angie's list, as soon as I post it, to protect the contractor from a bad review. Let's see what happens. <br />

We got several bids before starting work on our condo.  Moshe's was the most expensive, but it was also by far the most detail-oriented and comprehensive; we had no change orders and we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into at the start of the job. Moshe was direct and enthusiastic and we were eager to work with him from the start.  His crews were all respectful and professional and they all did great work and we got good deals from his sub contractors.  Our project manager, Kelly, was a great contact throughout the process, and we could always ask her or Moshe questions when buying materials. We were planning our wedding when we bought our condo and made it clear to Moshe that we had a very firm move-in date and that we had to move in by the end of February.  He DID NOT get us in by late February - he got us in by the end of January, four weeks early.  They essentially redid our entire condo in 6 weeks and did beautiful work.  We couldn't be happier and can't wait to tackle that last bathroom soon. <br />
