Horrible. After 2 complete installs by “new” crews, I finally insisted on having an experienced crew donthe third. The final product is good, but it was a 9 month hassle: missed appointments, lies, poor workmanship. The only positive is that the project was finally completed. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone!

Never, ever hire this contractor or any derivatives of this company. They have closed their doors, but some of the family employees have reopened business under another name, and I am sure more is to come. They took me for $40K approximately, and I actually got about 1/2 of that "up front" payment in service and goods. This company is pure junk science complete with smoke and mirrors. Three years to complete a 90 day guarantee job, NEVER HAPPENED.

So far, not good. No return phone calls. All we want is to get an approximate start date.

Our experience was a nightmare. The project should have taken 4 days but actually lasted 4 months! The contractor sent a variety of crews. The first crew demo'd the old shower stall. The second crew fixed the mistakes of the first crew's mess. The crew installed the tile fine, but the grout job had to be redone twice. For each appointed time, the crew arrived late or didn't show at all. Another contractor evaluated our shower and he said it looks like the work of an amateur. We are filing a complaint with the Oregon CCB against Prestige. Look elsewhere, do NOT hire Prestige!!

Ripped out the bathroom floor, installed tub, They painted without a primer first so now my paint is flaking out. Put a bamboo floor in my kitchen and countertop. there are gaps between secions of my counter tops, they didn't put down molding at the base of my walls. Did a real lousy job.

First time using a contractor on Angie's List, first time using Prestige and probably the last. 6 weeks late starting the work, not one call from Prestige, I had to call them every time. Finally work begins on a Thursday, backyard demo'd, equipment, tools, sand, gravel, concrete dust, everywhere but the materials were late so work did not resume until the following Tuesday. No call to explain, I had to call and ask if the crew was coming back. The crew cleaned up the pavers and they are beautiful, but they did not clean up the excess dirt, mulch and debris that they piled up on the outsides of the yard and in my plantings. I have trash, broken glass and piles of mulch and bark dust to remove by hand now. I asked more than once for a detailed itemized copy of the bid and the design, I'VE YET TO RECEIVE ANYTHING from Prestige. I have a handwritten bid from the salesman, who by the way never came back as he promised. No sign in the front yard, no return calls because his voice mail box was full.
I feel I paid much more than I should have, felt pressured to buy, I don't feel the finished work matches what I agreed to with the salesman, but have nothing to support that. One of the crew was drinking beer on the job, I can't find the nozzle for my backyard hose, I'm still cleaning up the broken glass that was under the deck, that was just pushed to the outside of the yard I was to have a new support beam for the roofline, that didn't happen, at least 20 pallets of pavers were dropped off and I watched as they loaded the extra pavers in to their dump truck, and the pavers still on pallets, roughly 8 pallets, sat in the drive way for 4 days until I called and asked that they be picked up so I could get out of my garage. Since I did not receive an itemized bid or final count, I have no idea how many pavers I actually paid for, but I know they took back at least half of what was delivered to my house.
I have a wall of Jasmine Ivy planted along the back wall, that is now white from the concrete dust. I had most of the back yard done, but had to leave the side yard to the gate because I could not afford the $20K I was quoted, so I had to forego that piece of the work.
I'm angry and disappointed that I was not informed during the process, when I would call I got the same excuse.
I agreed to the financing through the credit union of their choosing, yet when they faxed the papers to the CU, they left off the name of the company (Prestige) the CU called me to find out who sent in the application. From day to day I did not who, or how many workers would be here. My bid included sod, they came by a day after the pavers were down, played down grass seed and drove off. No water, no instructions, so i had to ask them to bring sod. They came back, laid the sod and a week later I have mushrooms, little flowers and grass from the seed coming up.
On August 30th, I sent a very lengthy letter to Prestige explaining everything because I still had not received a call, or an itemized bill or even a call back. Just like now, I explained everything that happened, expressed my disappointment and my feeling that I should receive a reduction in the overall bill since the work was not done to my satisfaction. Now, I did have to sign a stack of papers that had to do with the payment from the CU to Prestige, and sign that the work was done to my satisfaction but I ask you, as a single woman, home alone, with men standing around asking you to sign papers, would you feel comfortable confronting them about the bill? I also asked for a copy of everything I signed and they have not sent me anything. They have not even responded to my letter.
My next letter is to the BBB and the States Attorney to report all of this if I don't receive restitution.
We were very happy with the outcome.
The collected approx. a third up front and the rest upon completion. They were busy, so we were schedule out about 5 weeks. The actual completion of the work went faster than we anticipated - about 5 days of effort.

The crew that did the paving work were excellent. The job required some tricking draining installation as the back yard slopes towards the house. Work was performed when promised and only took 5 days to remove existing deck and replace with pavers including the wall, bench, and fire pit, and 35 foot path to the stairs leading to the upper deck. The upper deck work was then performed and its quality exceeded my expectations. It is probably sturdy enough to park a car on top - before I considered it too dangerous for the grand kids to use. The work was done when the ground was still wet so they had to bring in some topsoil to repair the yard damage. They also repaired all of the sprinklers they damaged during construction. The deck drains just fine and all of the sprinklers work.
While the main work was completed in the estimated 3 weeks time, the electrical installation was delayed due to their electrician moving on. So final payment was made with some with held to cover that cost. The electrical work was performed while we were out of town and they did not hook up the low voltage system and one of the low voltage lights was not coming on. The job supervisor also moved on so after several calls I simply completed this part of the job myself. The company never asked for full payment and were very compassionate when my mother passed away - sending a nice flower arrangement. The company is local and uses locally produced pavers of high quality. While there were some minor completion issues, I would recommend the company without hesitation based on the quality work they performed. We did not get other bids so I am not able to comment on their pricing, but I could not be more pleased with the work performed.
It went very well, the house had not been properly painted in years and they took the time to remove all the old paint and had to replace some siding and window moldings and the house now looks fantastic and the windows are wonderful
It went very well. The crew was wonderful. They worked hard, were courteous, and professional. They cleaned up very well after the project was completed and I really liked them. The only complaint I had was that the person in charge of scheduling was very hard to reach and didn't return my calls. Once I complained to the office about it, he then returned my call but was very brusque. The project turned out very nice and our neighbors have stopped by to tell us how lovely it looks. Even the postman rang my doorbell to let me know how great it looked. We are very satisfied with the completion of the work,

Initially we ran into a little difficulty scheduling when the job was to be completed, but they put a great deal of care and effort into the installation job. The quality of workmanship ensures the walkway will last for many, many years. Also, the walkway looks great.

I was very pleased with the outcome of this project. I had one hiccup wherein the person bidding the job didn't fully consider the details of the work. When the project manager reviewed, he said that the proposed solution wouldn't work for my exterior door (my frame wasn't suitable after all) plus he found that the extent of damage to the siding warranted additional replacements. I ended up with a pricey change-order.

However, I'm happy with the outcome! The workers were always courteous and professional. I have one area of siding that's particularly tricky due to the shape of the house, and they did an EXCELLENT job on this area. As soon as the weather allowed, the painter arrived to finish the work. He did an amazing job of matching the existing color: you can't even tell what's old and what's new!

Throughout, the project manager (Kirk) was a pleasure to work with. He was always honest and forthright, and returned my calls and emails in a very timely manner. Also, he has a great skill set for both construction and management so it was easy to put my trust in him.

Our homes are oftentimes our largest investment and, as such, you don't want to have 'just anyone' work on it. I would recommend Prestige Design to anyone, and plan to use them on my next project.

Didn't deliver on most of their claims at the time the services were contracted. Way over priced, way past purported completion date, very slow to respond to any requests. When work was finally finished they were bullies collecting the remaining balance after a far sub-par performance. Seemingly Nice people. Felt like a con job.
Response from Prestige Design & General Contracting Inc.
"We are sorry to hear about your less than ideal experience with our company. We do realize there was a bit of confusion on our end when it came to scheduling, and we apologize for that. Our understanding that once we completed your project was that you were pleased with the results. Again, we apologize for the delay on scheduling and hope you enjoy your new lighting."

work completed on schedule. the workers were very careful to lay out a great design as well as taking extreme care of placement for a tight fit. After work completed we had a very severe rain storm, which washed out some sand between the pavers as the sealing will be done in the spring. The repair was completed promptly. We enjoyed working with this company and would recommend them highly.
The project was complex and required skill, planning and artistry. They arrived when promised and did not leave our property until it was completed to our satisfaction. In a big project like this one, there are design issues, decisions, and even problems that can occur but Prestige always responded to our concerns and were generous in going the extra mile to make us happy. The original bid was honored and the result is spectacular, beyond our expectations. The crew was the best we have ever had in 14 years of rebuilding and landscaping our property. Angelo, the leader of our crew is an artist. He thought ahead and consulted with us on all levels of the project. The crew was a delight to have on the property. They arrived everyday at 8:00 or earlier and worked until 5 with one break for lunch. They brought a microwave and cooked healthy meals and sat around laughing, talking and even singing. Amazing group of men with high integrity.
If I had one suggestion, is that it is necessary to be involved in the project, especially one so big. Prestige is top notch but as in any project problems can arise that require the awareness of the client. The most important factor is that Prestige never questioned us, they went above and beyond in every instance, even if it meant more work. Prestige is not the cheapest in the market but worth the extra cost. I highly recommend them!
The retaining wall looks great. The design was done by Alex and we really like what he designed.
Both crews who did the two different jobs were wonderful. Worked hard, always cleaned up at the end of the day, and also great cleanup at the end of the job. They answered all my questions and did quality work (based on my knowledge of construction).
The only part we struggled with was the scheduling. The deck crew showed up a week before the agreed upon start date. The retaining wall lead guy showed up several times unexpectedly wanting to review the job or talk to me. I work at home so I was there, but it wasn't always convenient to break away from work and meet with him.
We are very pleased with the final results.
I will start with the positive and then my feedback where improvement is needed based on my experience.
I am very happy with my new backyard, the stone work is lovely and definitely an improvement and added value to this home. The overall job is good, I also have some lessons learned as well and things I settled for. The attention to some details and communication is not where it should be. Maybe that is a lesson learned for the company, customer service is as important as the actual work. If someone called me and asked should I hire Prestige for stone work, I would say yes but just as in any construction project look out for yourself, negotiate wisely, speak up, and monitor the project.
The crew ( sub contractors) that they hired to do the stone work did a wonderful job. They were prompt, pleasant to have around the property, and worked very hard. They built a raised patio, a separate circle patio with partial bench, walkways, and garden boxes on one side of the house. They clearly are very good with stone work. If I needed more stone work done I would want this crew back any time. The landscaping clearly is afterthought, my feeling is there should have been a separate crew, trained in landscaping sent out to do that part. Nothing against these guys but their strength is in the stonework. Fortunately this was a very simple landscape plan.
* gravel was spread under the grass and flower beds. I was told it was for drainage. Truth if you ask me, there was extra gravel ordered they needed to get rid of it. Look up laying sod on the internet you do not see a layer of gravel listed anywhere.
*bark dust was laid down before plants were in so they had to dig bark up to put in plants later.
* side yard gravel path was to have base bed liner under it. That did not happen , when I questioned it I was told no worries they will get it in. It never got in.
* chopped the lower half off of one of my hedges, I went back in after they were gone and spend about 3 hours trimming and cleaning it up.
* there was an agreement to put support boards along the lower portion of the back fence. this was missed and when I asked about it they did return and put a board on. But not a treated board as it should be, it appears to be cedar boards perhaps fence boards nailed along the bottom of the fence. I will be pulling this off and replacing it with a more professional looking and treated support for this fence.
* there was a separate crew who did the building of the fence along one side of the house. They did fine and the fence looks good, I will need to go over it with stain as it is raw cedar.
*attention was paid to cleanup, I have seen some reviews for some contractors where the consumer was left with a mess and Prestige workers were very careful about making sure they cleaned up after themselves.
* every worker who spent time here was polite and hardworking
* the stone work for the two patios, steps and walkways is lovely and well done
The sales process- I will say he took more time with me than another company that I looked at, and did not go with, because they would not even talk design without a check in hand and Prestige was willing to take the time up front. One piece of feedback is perhaps a bit more full disclosure in negotiation. When a customer negotiates the price they are talking like for like, not expecting that you are actually cutting out details or quality of product used to lower the price. So to the consumer just negotiate carefully, and be sure you are talking about the same finishes and or quality and you will be fine.
Prestige, your big opportunity for improvement. Communication and follow up. When a customer calls, or emails the office, sales person, or project manager please respond. Also a little more attention to quality in the details, you know the saying the devil is in the details.
Response from Prestige Design & General Contracting Inc.
"Thank you for your constructive criticism, we are glad you are pleased overall with your project. Thank you again for your business we truly appreciate it."
