He was quick, efficient and very pleasant to work with. He cleaned up very well and everything is looking and working great. Would definitely hire again! BTW- I had received a quote from D & B Plumbers and it was much higher for the same work.

I have used Nelson in the past for several projects including remodeling my kitchen, removing a load bearing wall, installing a new bathroom, and most recently remodeling my unfinished basement. If you are looking for a contractor that is flexible and will let you pick out exactly how you want your basement to look Nelson is your man. I wanted my basement to have a top of the line surround sound system, great lighting, a gym, closet space, and 2 hidden bookshelves. One of the hidden bookcases is a compartment under my stairs. This place is perfect for my kids to play in. The other hidden bookcase hides a storage/safe room. My basement went from an unused space to the nicest floor in my house. In order to minimize the amount of costs for the remodel, Nelson let me use my own carpet provider and I also got to use my existing TV and stereo equipment including surround sound speakers.

In order to minimize the costs of the project, I ordered and paid for all the bathroom accessories myself. These included: all marble tiles, jetted tub, heater for tub, vanity, lighting, plumbing fixtures, mirror, toilet and shower stall. I purchased these items from Costco, Home Depot and Amazon.

Bottom line- Although it took a lot of my time to pick out and buy all the accessories, I was able to get the customized master bathroom that I always dreamed for about half the price a full service contractor would have charged me.

Nelson finished our basement in 2013 and we were very pleased with his work, so we contacted him to build our deck. As we expected, he was prompt to respond and his estimate was reasonable. We were very fortunate that he was able to build our deck much sooner than we expected.
The deck turned out better than we could have ever hoped. Nelson did a first-rate job in creating a stable, functional and attractive deck, even going beyond what was required by code.
Nelson is a reliable, friendly and experienced builder whom I will always contact first with any sort of remodeling/construction project.

Nelson Piriz did a nice job remodeling our master bathroom. He told us it would take two weeks and it did. The price above was for his labor, sheetrock, and mortar. Other materials I bought- bathtub, cabinets, paint, tile, hardware, and lights. Nelson picked up some of the stuff for us. He coordinated others to do the granite tub surround and cabinet top which turned out beautifully. He also got us in touch with the frameless shower guy. Nelson could have done a little better scheduling them but that is our only concern with his performance. In all, my bathroom cost about 13000.00. I am extremely pleased with the results and I would recommend Nelson.
We have used Pro Builders Art and Construction in the past and feel the work and professionalism shown by Nelson and his crew are excellent. They came to the house and were able to complete the job in two days. We were happy with the work that they did but found a few places that needed to be touched up after they were finished. We contacted Nelson to let him know and he had someone out the next day. Once again we had a great experience and would hire them again in the future.
Nelson was professional, courteous and friendly from beginning to end. We contacted several people for estimates. Some were way over our budget and others came across as not wanting the job. Nelson was prompt to return an estimate and his price seemed fair. He also came across as a genuinely nice, responsible and hard-working contractor.
When we signed the contract, Nelson said he would start work on July 1st, and sure enough, he was ready to go on July 1. Before the start date, he and his architect took care of the blueprints and permitting process through the city. We were responsible for providing most of the finish materials (tile, toilet, sink, vanity, lights). Nelson took care of the rest.
The renovation took a month, and Nelson and his crew (usually one or two additional workers) worked hard and and kept the space neat. He did most of the work himself, with the exception of having a plumber do the rough-in for the new bathroom and a painter do all the drywall finish work and painting.
As with any renovation, there were some surprises along the way. The city inspector required a new electrical box and hard-wired smoke detectors on each level. Nelson took care of this extra expense as cost-effectively as possible. He was very responsive to our changes and suggestions.
We were very happy with Nelson and would use him again for any future renovations.

My wife and I give contractor Nelson Piriz of Pro Builders Art and Construction an A+ for his work on our bathroom remodeling project. To begin with, his bid beat those of three other contractors. Then, he had great suggestions for how we could get what we wanted from the remodeling. He started work on the promised date and finished right on schedule, remodeling three bathrooms - a master bathroom and two smaller bathrooms - in just ten days. The quality of the work is excellent - Nelson seems to know everything there is to know about the building trades - and the bathrooms look beautiful. He was always happy to accommodate our wishes and make any changes we requested, and even added some nice extra touches that we didn't explicitly bargain for, without upping his price. In person, Nelson is affable, friendly, easy to work with and upbeat, and clearly takes pride in his work. We wouldn't hesitate to hire Nelson again, and hope that he is available when we are ready to remodel our kitchen in the not-too-distant future.
Very smooth, quickly and with very little problems and or inconvenience. Nelson took the time to listen to my concerns and provided very good solutions. He also gave insight for different ideas that he thought would work on this project, but always left the final decision making to me.

From the beginning, Nelson was extremely responsive, courteous and professional. He provided a quick, detailed and accurate estimate and went to work promptly. He arrived every day on time or early and completed the job in the allotted time including a few additions to the scope of work. He and his co-worker Oscar were wonderful to deal with. Nelson was flexible, upfront concerning potential unknown costs, provided excellent recommendations to improve the design when asked and ultimately completed the job on time, on budget to our complete satisfaction. We are already planning to work with him on another job in the very near future.
Pro Builders Art and Construction remodeled my basement in 2012 and did a good/fair job. There were problems with the ceiling painting and the shower accent tiles which required Nelson to make several return trips. While I was disappointed with the multiple corrections that needed to be made, to Nelson's credit he did address the problems and did what was necessary to make it right. Since I can count on Nelson's word, I would use his company again because I feel confident that he values customer satisfaction. I downgraded my overall experience to a "D" and the professionalism to an "F" because of a very bad experience with Nelson that resulted from a referral Nelson provided. I had another job for Nelson but he was busy and referred me to a contractor who he said he knew well and had been a business partner. This person is named Manuel Lopez. Based on Nelson's referral I hired Manuel and paid him $2000 over the course of a week, at the end of which he took my money and walked off the job. He left me with a demolished bathroom, patched walls, and lights that looked like they were installed but were not. He installed the light housing and made be think it was wired but it was not. When I found another Angie's List contractor to finish the job we quickly found a list of items that was never done. Paiting was poor - walls were painted before cutting. The proper way to paint as I learned from two licensed contractors who came to look at Manuel's work is to cut before painting. Both contractors said the application was poor and the technique (painting walls before cutting) was wrong. The ceiling fan hung from the ceiling and appeared to be installed but inspection revealed it was never wired. Worse, the wire that Manuel ran into the wall to make me think it was wired was the wrong type of wire - it was 2 wire instead of the required 3 wires. The lights in the foyer were the same thing - appeared installed but never wired. The worse was the bathroom. Manuel installed the "new" tub but when the new contractor I hired began working we found that Manuel had not connected the tub to a drain and there was also no overflow drain installed. Manuel stuffed paper in the holes - I assume so we wouldn't notice that no drain pipes were attached to the tub. I don't think he ever intended to finish the job and that he did enough to lend the appearance that work was being done so that I would make an installment payment. He took $2000 from me before leaving. I am not sure of the relationship between Manuel and Pro Builder Art and Construction but I thought it appropriate to note my experience here since Manuel was referred to me by Nelson Piriz and I want others to be aware should they receive a similar referral.
Nelson and his crew did a fabulous job. They gutted the master bath and built it back up in two weeks. They showed up every day at 8:00 am. Nelson asked a lot of questions to make sure i got exactly what i wanted in every detail. Be forewarned tho, Nelson is a busy man. If you're looking for someone to come and do a job on short notice, he might not be your man. I waited several months for him to be able to fit my job in. That being said, he showed up on the date he promised me originally and the result was well worth the wait. Nelson gives you a labor quote and leaves you to purchase the materials ( tub, toilet, etc). This gives you the opportunity to save money (or not as in my case). Not only would I recommend this company, I've already started talking to Nelson about the next job I want him to do for me!
Overall my wife an I were quite happy with the final result. Nelson quoted us a fair price which was dramatically cheaper than the highest bid I received. This was partially due to the fact that a lot of the material is no included in the bid which i was fully aware of. The bid consisted of all of the labor, the dry wall, lumbar for the framing, recesses lights, electrical wiring & outlets, drywall mud primer and all of the screws nails and other miscellaneous that when into hanging the drywall and framing. We paid out of pocket for all of the bathroom fixtures, vanity, toilet, shower, tile, paint & chair rail. I like the fact that we knew exactly what the cost was for the material because we were picking it out and buying it. Nelson's bid was still lower after adding all materials than the majority of the other bids we received. This isn't the only reason we chose Pro Builders. I would never just choose someone because they were the cheapest. Nelson was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions when he originally came out to give us the estimate. He wasn't pushy and gave insight when asked. He didn't try and shove his ideas down our throat which i ran in to that with a couple of other contractors.
We had a few delays with the plumbing but with any remodeling project your going to run in to delays. A few other
delays kind of drug the project out a few weeks longer than I would have liked but all in all it was a pretty good experience and so far I have no real complaints on the workmanship. The work is guaranteed for 12 months and Nelson assured me that if I had any problems he would be sure they were fixed.
Nelson and his team arrived sharply at 7am on the first day to start the demolition and they worked until about 5pm. I was comfortable in giving Nelson a house key so that they could come and go as they needed due to my work schedule. Nelson was very helpful in planning and design. He asked detailed questions and offered suggestions (when needed) that I had not considered. He was prompt in responding to my various emails. His estimate was much lower than a lot of the local competition (I did provide all the main materials and fixtures) and his team did a BEAUTIFUL job on my remodel. I have already gotten many compliments on the tile work in the shower. They covered eveything with plastic and laid a tarp on the carpet when they were working. He tried very hard to keep the mess to a minumum. Nelson made sure that everything was cleaned up after each day (until I told him it was fine to leave it as is since the downstairs was not beng used during the remodel). I can't wait to get the master bathroom done too and I know I will be using Nelson and Pro Builders for any other projects that come up! Nelson takes pride in his work and goes out of his way to try and please the customer. I added and/or changed my mind a couple of times both before and after we started the project. It was one of the least stressful projects I've had done so far. He even went as far as swapping out a light fixture in the adjacent bedroom at no charge. Oh and they ended up starting a week earlier then originally scheduled so my family visiting this month will get to enjoy the new bathroom now. A++

It was great to work with Nelson. He was professional, kind, and patient. He had a big job to do and did it beautifully in 3 weeks. He always made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. He picked up everything I ordered, saving me time and money. I have recommended him to a neighbor and will continue to let others know how great a contractor he is.

We've worked with Nelson and his company before. Once again they did a fantastic job! Quote process: Nelson evaluated several concerns I had with the exterior of my home. He provided suggestions and clearly described what our problems were and how he would fix them. There was also a problem with my gutters that I had him evaluate. He explained the problem, but said it was a job better suited for a company that specialized in gutters. I appreciated his honesty!!! It took less than a day to complete the job. They did outstanding work. I was not home that day and Nelson called to tell me he needed access to an electrical outlet. Since I don't have any exterior outlets on my house, he waited for me to call a neighbor to give him access. Nelson was pleasant to work with and very professional.

Brick walkway with landscaping (grass area with attention to cleanup of the site) and marble bathrooms are gorgeous. Nelson cares about his work and will offer suggestions on the design to make it work better and look better than just a basic design. For example, the original walkway was ugly concrete with a 90 degree turn towards the driveway. Nelson suggested widening the walkway by a few inches by orienting bricks differently without adding any cost, and then moving part of the walkway using a curved design towards to a location where it is more practical as a walkway, and allowing for a decorative planter surrounding the existing light fixture rather than the old design, and without additonal cost. He has an artisitc ability to make things really look good, as well as master carpenter skills for carpentry and especially tile designs. He is always respectful of the pricing. Nelson is a pleasure to work with because he is trustworthy and polite. Gorgeous work!

Nelson is as amazing as everyone writes. He truly provides the "art" as well as the "construction". He promptly answered every email (and I sent many). He came over prior to project start to ensure I had purchased the right wood stove insert and that he had the right materials. He picked up the stove from the store since it wouldn't fit in my car. He matched the hardwood floors to the existing floors in the house -- a 60 year old house and he got the match perfect!, He suggested the perfect granite surround to complete the stove and the style of my home, and he picked out the most gorgeous matching hearth stone for me. When the stove itself malfunctioned, he came back to troubleshoot even though it wasn't part of his job.
Nelson and I have already thrown around ideas for a patio I want to build. Thanks for everything, Nelson!

]We have used Nelson in the past for two bathroom renovations that he personally executed, and we were very pleased with the outcomes. The basement renovation was largely subcontracted out, with Nelson porviding quality control and installation of the wall TV and dart board, and windows. The subs did a fine job but I would encourage potential buyers to ensure that Nelson is envolved in their projects as much as possible. He is a great all-round contractor. We expereinced some difficlty with the windows - the first set had to be rejected, Unlike the bathroom renovations where we supplied all the materials, Pro Builders provided the discrete materials [lights, carpets, windows, doors] as part of a packaged price. Just ensure that they meet your expectations.
