James is great and super professional. Was nice, polite, showed us certificate of insurance without even prompting him, went over the details of all charges, responds in a timely manner. He was upfront about everything.

Needed radon reduction upon moving to our house. All work done on time and professionally. Sent an electrician to complete wiring. All promptly done and clear. A great company.

It went very well. James Musarra is extremely easy to work with. He asked all the right questions and listened to my concerns. He came out to view the basement within 2 days and had a proposal for me within 2 days after. We were scheduled within 10 days and the work was done in a day with a quick visit from his electrician on another day to hardwire the fan. No mess, no fuss. There was no delay in my basement sheetrock project, as they were able to work on the other side of the wall where the fan went. The fan duct has to go above the roofline of my home and the placement that they chose was very unobtrusive. All in all it was a smooth, professional job. James always answered my calls or returned them the same day. As part of his service he includes a radon re-test to assess the effectiveness of the mitigation. I am happy to say the "after" radon level was 1.3 pCi/L.

Everything went extremely well. They were courteous and professional, came exactly when they said they would, and did good work. The radon level in my basement immediately went from 3.8 down to 1.0.
In the final throes of selling our 1929 house, home inspector's radon test came back at 6.0 (above threshold). I searched NJ DEP for information, and discovered they have a list of radon mitigation specialists licensed in NJ.
James Musarro was professional, courteous and very understanding of our stress and concerns. He answered all of our questions about radon, what the 6.0 result meant, how it might not have tested high when we bought the house in 2005 but now did. Everything I could think of, he talked through with us. Once we were comfortable with the need to install a system, he explained what his recommendation was, why, and how it would work, as well as the cost. We discussed his access needs and he made some suggestions regarding a less conspicuous location (the system is installed in basement interior, but venting runs out wall and up alongside to roof), so it wouldn't affect the charm of our old house. He explained regarding permit requirements and costs for our town; at our option, he took care of obtaining the permits for us and we paid for them separately from his quoted price as agreed ($147 total).
Understanding the pressure to finish so we could proceed to closing, James booked us for installation 2 days later. James and his assistant showed up on time, even called ahead to confirm he was arriving. He looked at the possible locations and discussed them with us. The installation went quickly, he showed us how it worked and how we'd be able to tell it was working, and he left a testing system set up to confirm it was functioning correctly. The work was very neat and they cleaned up the work area thoroughly; it was as quiet as he'd described. The installation outside was very clean and discreet as well. Friday night, James called again to confirm a 1 hour window arrival time; his electrician came on Saturday, on time, and made the final connection to the electrical panel.
We are grateful to Professional Radon Systems Inc. and Mr. Musarro. Very professional, competent, efficient and reliable. But as important, we think, they were also sensitive to our pressure points and concerns about the dangers of radon, and went above and beyond in customer service to make sure to educate us about radon and about their product so we could make an informed decision.
The remediation went great. I was on vacation, so he coordinated with my contractor who was doing work. The job was finished when we got back. It was done exactly as described. Radon level went from 5.1 to 1.7. The only downside is you need to close the permit yourself after the project. But they do a great job, exactly as described.
I thought things went well until I was informed part of job did not pass inspection. Contacted contractor left voicemail message and email. No response as of yet. At first I was really pleased James took the time to assess the work to be completed and gave me a quote. he matched the competition's price. Because we live in a townhouse complex the condo had specific requirement prior to approving work. James sent them everything they needed. Also he was great about following with the township about permits (as apparently my town is quite horribly disorganized and lost the first permit filed!)
James and his team did a wonderful job and I had to chase him down to make sure that he picked up the check. In this day and age, very heartening to note that people like him do exist in business world. Wouldn't hesitate to hire him again and hope with his work ethics / expertise he and his team expand into other services as well.

I followed the advice on an earlier report and clearly defined where I wanted the pipe to be installed. The estimator and I determined two possible sites though he and I each preferred different sites. The installer, James, was very easy to work with. He was able to install the pipe where I wanted the pipe. The installation was quick, relatively quiet and they cleaned up the site. The estimator again showed up as promised to install the radon test machine as they guarantee a reduction below 4. The fan, which runs outside the house will add to your electric bill. I haven't received a new bill yet so I can't say how much, though estimates are from $50-150 a year. Also, your town may require permits and that adds to the cost. Montclair charges $95 for permits.

From day one, this company has top notch customer service. They always called day before coming as a reminder. They called on the day they were coming. Arrived on time. Only question seemed to be where to exactly to install, which seemed the best location. Even the electrical subcontractor called before he came. The house passed building and electrical inspections without any problems.
