Profound Moving and Storage

We contracted for moving services with Profound Moving after reading the excellent reviews. Our move was from Indiana to Florida. Everything was very professional on the phone, but when the movers arrived on April 27, 2022, we were told that they were not Profound and that Profound just contracts out the moves. We had no idea who the movers were, but they were courteous and professional enough. They also stated that they were picking up another customers items, but they had no stickers to differentiate what belonged to who. I offered to tag mine, but was told they were getting stickers from the office and they knew what was ours. When the truck arrived to drop off our belongings on May 7, 2022, we noticed our hand truck was missing and later another box with dishes was also missing. Several bins were damaged and our new luggage showed signs of unnecessary wear. I did not know who the movers were but I did have the phone number of the mover since I paid with Zelle. I contacted Profound to let them know about the missing items. They directed me back to the movers THEY hired! I would not have contracted with a company who was going to source out the move and then direct me back to the unknown mover when there was a problem. The worst part about this is that the mover Profound hired has an *F* rating on BBB.org! I feel like this was a classic bait and switch. It is now July 25, 2022, and the matter is still not resolved. No communication from Profound or the movers they hired to move us. I am sad that this matter was not handled with the kind of customer service Profound provided when we initially contracted with them. A company is only as good as it says it is when they handle a problem in a professional and satisfactory manner. We did not find Profound to be a good company.
