I have been a customer of prograss for several years, subscribing to their "Premium Service package" on a weekly basis. This service also comes with a premium price tag, which I thought would be worth the cost. The service turned out to be less than ideal, but that is only a contributing factor in my decision to write this review, and terminate their service. The final straw came about when they damaged my concrete lawn edging with their equipment for the second time. Twice they have managed to carve large chunks from this edging leaving it broken and very unsightly. I reported this to their field manager Nick, including photos of the shattered edging, and his response was that it should be able to stand up to their equipment and methodology, and was unable to participate in the repair. I was stunned by his reply, and contacted the head office for assistance. I was contacted a couple of days later and was told that he had spoken to "his concrete guy" who told him that my edging damage was the result of "inferior concrete pouring, and freeze cracking" and that he would be unable to help me with the repair. A couple of things bothered me about this. First, it is the middle of august, and we typically don't get frost here in august, second, the edging has survived at least 5 years with no issues, and only showed this phenomena where they enter the lawn to mow, and nowhere else. Hmmm, they never denied hitting it, just blamed it on the concrete. The first damage cost me almost $1000 to repair, and I am not sure what the current damage to the back yard will cost, but it troubles me that they deny any compensation for their mistakes. Even a minimal contribution, or a free month's service could have saved my account for them, but money seems more important than service to them. By the way, the yard service was mediocre at best anyway....

Not well. Company is not responsive. They started up the system a few weeks ago and I immediately had a slow leak in a sprinkler head. Water was continuously tricking out of head. It took a week to get someone back to try and fix it. While the original head was fixed, the problem just shifted to the next head on the line. I called them again and got the same "well, we're very busy and we don't when when the irrigation guy will be back in your neighborhood." That was a week ago. No communication since then. I don't think that's acceptable customer service. If the company is going to promote and provide this service, it needs to staff it adequately. Additionally, they need to communicate with their customers. I have used their lawn fertilizing services for years and been pretty happy. Unfortunately, this experience with the sprinkler system makes me wonder about their management and customer service.

My first year and a half with Prograss went really well. The last year and a half though have been unsatisfactory to say the least. Here's an example of an exchange with the worker: Day 1: Me: "A., please cut down the tall grasses for the winter" A: "I don't have my clippers with me - I promise to do it next week" Day 7: nothing gets done Day 15: A. calls me, doesn't have clippers, can he borrow mine, I say "yes, sure"; A. cuts down grasses in front yard only Day 22: "A, please cut down the tall grasses in the side yard". Responds "Yes, will do!" Nothing gets done. Day 29: "A, please cut down the tall grasses in the side yard". Cuts two and leaves three Day 36: "S, please cut down the tall grasses in the side yard." Cuts down final three. As another example, I emailed the manager DP with a list of a few things I wanted done on the final service day of the season (as I cancel over the winter). This included edging - but it didn't get done because A. didn't bring the edger with him. Now I'll have a sloppy edge for the next four months. In addition to the unresponsiveness, their manager DP refuses to return emails (even though it's clear that he gets them since some work requests do get done) and he's curt on the phone, as if I'm bothering him. The guys forgot to mow and edge my lawn one week during the summer when it was growing fast. DP and the worker never acknowledged this or apologized to me. I emailed DP three times to inform him and to secure a refund - no response. I called the office and after they followed up with DP they gave me the refund. I complained to the supervisor Lonnie about DP's lack of response to this concern and others. He got very silent and then he said, "Oookaaay" very softly - and didn't say another word - no acknowledgement, no "I'm sorry to hear this - I'll check into it", nothing. Finally the silence got awkward and I said goodbye. It would be one thing if I had called to complain every week and they were tired of me - but this was the first time. I will say that the manager DP has come out quickly when I had a question or concern about the yard. However, when it comes to diagnosing plant issues, the time usually was wasted. "DP, I'm worried about this lovely Japanese Maple - all these small branches have died." DP: "It could be disease ....". Me: "Could it be overwatering?" DP: "Yes, it could be overwatering." Me: "Could it be underwatering?" DP: "Yes, it could be underwatering. Cut off the dead branches and give it another year and then see about it." I brought a neighbor along with me when I signed up. He also is not planning to continue.

In 11 years and 6 maintenance companies NO one has done a better job, not even close! Our landscaping is getting more and more beautiful. Steve Rourk is so experienced, patient and committed. I could not be happier. Our Association plans to be with ProGrass forever!

Not well. They scalped the place and it looked terrible. They didn’t cut back some areas and when questioned, said it wasn’t part of the agreement. It was expensive and poorly done.

I really am happy with what they are doing. I have no regrets. I don’t know how many guys come out. I’m not home.

They did quite a bit of work. They’ve been really, really good. You pay monthly for all weeks out of the year, so even if it snows, you have to pay for them to come out, but, from what I understand, they still will clean up the leaves and all that kind of stuff. They were very punctual, listened to what I was requesting, and if I had an issue, their follow-up was prompt and it was taken care of. They come every Thursday.

I have used ProGrass for our sprinkler startup and shutoff for a number of years, and always been somewhat unsatisfied with the work done vs. the cost of said work (turning it on and checking the backflow in the spring, and turning it off in the fall for $170). So this spring I said I would rather not have them do the startup, that I could turn it on myself and more cheaply test the backflow another time. They countered saying they would also do minor repairs if it involved parts they had on the truck. I said that would be good since I have two Hunter nozzles that need to be replaced, and since they thought that would be a “minor repair” I agreed to pay for the service. The contractor came outside of the time window they gave me so I wasn’t home yet, and he didn’t make any repairs (nozzles were squirting all over, so it must have been apparent.) They told me they would send him back out to fix those, again telling me there wouldn’t be a charge “as long as he had the parts on the truck.” He came back, made the repairs, and then I got a bill for $85. I subsequently called and had them come back to repair a rotor, which I expected to pay for. When I got the bill for the rotor repair plus the $85 from the previous visit I called again, and was told over the phone that this must be a mistake and to subtract the $85 from the invoice. I did this and paid the rotor part of the bill. I am now receiving calls that I owe the $85 or they will send me to a collection agency. I will pay the bill to be done with this issue, but am very disappointed with the way this was handled. No one took notes in their system when we spoke on the phone, no one has apologized for the mistake, and now they are trying to bully me into payment, calling multiple times with the same speech about the fact that I owe the money. I’ve never complained about a company before, but the customer service department is so poor I feel I have to let people know. Carmen, in customer service, has been particularly rude on the phone and each time she calls me she says the same story, never acknowledging there were mistakes made. Had she handled it differently we would still be a customer of ProGrass

It was fine. They are basically the only service provider here that does that stuff outside of landscape. They're the biggest one. The Big Deal price was the only charge I had. I currently use them for all my landscaping for my grass. I've never actually seen any of their workers to be honest with you, they do all the stuff when I'm at work. I've never even talk to anyone from their company. I'd like better notice when they're going to schedule the appointment. Communication with the receptionist is good.

Terrible. If I pay professionals a decent amount to do professional work, I would expect the outcome to look professional. The shelves look like I had built them and the paint job is terrible. It looks like 10 times painted over with a brush and does not at all have a nice finish. I am serious when I say that I could have built this. On top of that they have taken an incredibly long time to built it. We just had our custom shelves around the fireplace completed with other professionals and that is exactly what I would have expected the the pantry shelves to look like.

We have been working with ProGrass for a few years now on our homes in Bethany and North Portland and cannot recommend them highly enough. Mark and his team are positive, collaborative and extremely good at what they do. The process has gone smoothly from beginning to end, and we look forward to working with them for years to come.

The work was beautiful and the results were impressive. The project came in slightly over budget because of the few additions I made during construction. The work was completed in mid summer 2016. I have already contacted ProGrass for additional work in 2017; a new wood fence!
