The following represents my opinion on this complaint against Pro Home Services:

SUMMARY: This vendor has approximately $500.00 ($500.90) of my money (to which it admitted) in pre-payment for anticipated lawn services this season. Due to bad performance and/or questionable behavior, I cancelled the services and requested a refund. After cancelling services and requesting a refund, now this vendor will not respond despite numerous contacts. The chronologically arranged emails from me to the vendor are shown below ? providing more detail. In essence, I used this vendor for lawn services for approximately four prior years. When I paid the balance due for the end of last season, I also paid in advance for the upcoming season (total check $1000.00). The services this season were subpar and/or ordered stopped but they still showed up when I wasn?t home, supposedly did work, and left an invoice on the front door. I believe the vendor may be having business problems (which he denies). When I reduced the amount of services wanted this season (e.g. grass cutting every other week rather than every week and gutter cleaning only in May and not November), he became argumentative including that he may drop me as a customer, doesn?t want me and other customers who don?t given them enough work to do, and that they keep track of who gives them what work ? noting that I hadn?t given them anything but lawn work since 2010. Pro Home says they performed three services thus far this season. Each one has been very problematic--and a complaint was registered after each one but Pro Home did nothing. Requested resolution is shown below.

4/15/2015 Per an email to Stan, the (purported) owner of Pro Home Services: Pro Home Service workers appeared unannounced (per usual) for the first lawn mowing of the season. I happened to be home and ran out to stop them but they refused.to stop. The reason I didn't want the lawn cut yet is that another lawn service provider had been hired to put treatments on the lawn but all the leaves had to be removed first. I had removed some leaves, raked others in piles, and another part of the lawn had yet to be raked. Pro Home refused to stop mowing--but said they would try to blow up some of the leaves after mowing. Not only did they refuse not to mow, they then left without blowing the leaves, as promised! (Sidenote: The reason I hired a different lawn care company to do the treatments is that Pro Home, in the past, would quote $150.00 for the soil test; I found out that the charge was much smaller by another reputable lawn service company (the test is reportedly a government requirement and the cost paid to the government seems minimal compared to what Pro Home demanded). It appears I was being quoted a very inflated price for the service. In the same email, I asked how much credit his books are showing for my advance payment for the season.

---First complaint of the season: Stop mowing, they refused, and they promised to blow the leaves but left without doing so. When I contacted Pro Home, it wouldn?t do anything about it.

4/16/2015 Sent another email to Stan, the owner of Pro Home Services: I was (clearly) not asking that Pro Home do more work by coming back to blow and bag the leaves nor to have the leaves blown into the woods ? the response in his email. My email registered a complaint as shown in the 4/15/2015 email. No comment was forthcoming on the 'wouldn't stop mowing, as requested' and 'didn't blow leaves, as promised'. It was ignored and apparently he wanted to charge to come back to do the work.

In this email, I also asked whether there could be notice as to when the workers were coming to my home as it had been very happenstance over the years -- even when it seemed the grass didn't need cutting due to low rain or the like -- and, if not, could we go to a system whereby I request cutting, as needed?

In addition, is there any change in price this year?

Stan responded no as to announcing when they would be performing services and said there was a dollar or two increase this year.

4/24/2015 Sent an email to Stan, the owner of Pro Home Service: Cancelled November 2015 gutter cleaning, do only the May 2015 gutter cleaning.

Another (different) email on 4/24/2015 to Stan: Cut the grass only every two weeks (I prefer every 10 days but that has not been offered in the past).

5/1/2015 Telephone call (troubling) with Stan resulted in 5/4/2015 email to him below

5/4/2015 Email to Stan: 1) Complaint of 5/1/2015 that guys had just been here to cut the grass and the grass was still high (later iPhone measurement showed it covered the iPhone which is about 6 inches tall). Pro Home insisted that the grass had to be 3 inches for its health (that's fine) but that wasn't my complaint. Had I not been home, it would have been unlikely to know that the services had allegedly been performed for payment. There was no attempt by Stan to correct this. I had to have the grass recut. In fact, in an unpleasant and inappropriate call, I was told that there was going to be a meeting on Monday to decide whether to drop customers like me who wanted grass cutting only every two weeks -- and who hadn't given them any other work to do -- 'we keep track of what customers give us what to do' -- such as construction type work.

I asked him what would happen with the advance payments if he dropped me and he said guess he'd have to give me a refund.

I thought about it over the weekend and decided there were too many problems with this company -- none of which they were willing to address. Please note: There has been no contact FROM Pro Home Services since my telephone call TO THEM of 5/1/2015 despite my many requests for a refund and cancellation of all services.

In my 5/4/2015 email, I noted his dissatisfaction with the amount of work he wasn't getting and my dissatisfaction with the work being done, and thanked him for his years of past service, that I was making a change, and reminded him of his promise to provide a refund. I also asked that there be no charge for the 'cutting' on Friday (5/1/15) as it has to be redone by another company. No response.

5/7/15 There was no response to my 5/4/15 email to Stan cancelling services and requesting a refund. Instead, on 5/7/15, his guys allegedly entered my property and went on the roof to clean the gutters AFTER 7:15 in the evening (when I left home) and when I returned a few hours later, there was a bill on the door for gutter cleaning! I had even gone to the length of posting a note on the door for the past few days to Pro Home to not do any work and to not clean the gutters -- as there seemed to be unusual practices going on and I worried they?d do something --which they did by showing up, believed trespassing, and performing work that had been cancelled, and leaving an invoice (against the prepayment). That note I had posted on the door was gone and they left a bill in its place.

In this email of 5/7/2015 with the subject line "Cancellation of services again. Full refund required immediately" I reiterated that no further work is/was to be done and for a full refund for the second grass cutting and the gutter cleaning. I asked that he please respond not later than close of business 5/8/15. And added that I felt he was disrespectful on the phone.

5/8/15 at 6:35 a.m., I forwarded the email of 5/7/15 re: please respond not later tha
